On top of that, the yacht is fitted with two 2,600 hp MTU engines mated to waterjets. During the first sea trials, she hit 37 knots at full tilt and showcased “great stability and maneuverability,” according to Extra. The yard says she’s also quiet and comfortable below deck.

The cockpit layout has Extra’s unmistakable DNA, with a modern layout and large entertaining spaces. The aft galley is cleverly concealed behind a glass partition that can be lifted or lowered on demand. Elsewhere, there are four large cabins that can accommodate up to 10 seafarers.

Back upstairs, the 800-square-foot outdoor deck features collapsible balconies, a dedicated “lounge zone” with sun loungers and an extendable table that comfortably seat 12. On the starboard side, you’ll find a large garage holding a 13-foot Williams Sportjet tender. There are also two Jet Skis housed in the bow, alongside a hydraulic crane for hauling and launching toys.

Although it’s only been a couple of years since Extra entered the marine industry, the newcomer’s fleet now includes six models ranging from 76 to 130 feet. The yard also recently unveiled a new hybrid catamaran known as the X30 Villa that pairs the space of a superyacht with the efficiency of a multihull. The second X99 Fast will also be based in Miami and will join the first hull across the pond once complete.

Fourth Extra X96 Triplex yacht launched and named Super Mario

Extra Yachts , a brand of ISA Yachts , has launched the fourth unit in its 28.5-metre Extra X96 Triplex series, named Super Mario . The yacht was sold to a European client in April 2023 and is the sistership of Anvilugi , the first hull in the series.

The yacht's 238 GT is spread across four decks, giving Milan-based studio Hot Lab plenty of space to style this unit with a "modern and eclectic" theme. Exterior lines are by Francesco Guida in collaboration with Palumbo Superyachts , and the team has worked on achieving a continuous connection between indoor and outdoor spaces throughout. 

This unit stands apart from the previous three models with the addition of a sixth cabin on the upper deck and the relocation of the galley to the main deck.

Openable floor-to-ceiling windows flank the main deck and upper decks, allowing light and air into the interior. Materials used include natural oak, grey leather columns, white Calacatta marble and white and black lacquer in the ceiling and boiseries. 

The yacht has a beam of 7.6 metres and a hull length of just 23.8 metres, meaning she falls under the CE category for recreational craft up to 24 metres. The Extra X96 features a triple Volvo Penta IPS propulsion package which delivers a maximum speed of 17.5 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots.

The buyer of hull four was introduced by Igor Cherentaev at Aberton Yachts , marking the second consecutive X96 sold by Aberton Yachts following the sale of hull three.

According to BOATPro , ISA Yachts has six yachts in order or under construction. The shipyard hit the headlines earlier this week with the sale of the first unit in its Viper 120 series.

Isa yachts extra 76: extra in name and deed.

ISA Yachts debuts a 23 meter yacht that develops a new cruise concept and will be the first of a full range of an innovative range.

Large volumes compared to her size, on board comfort, low consumption for a long-range navigation, and outdoor spaces designed to enjoy close contact with nature: these are the key elements of the new ISA Yachts Extra 76 and all the subsequent range.

ISA EXTRA 76: that word stands for Extra Ordinary

Designed by Francesco Guida , EXTRA 76 expresses a distinctive character and personality already from outside: the play of contrasts on the yacht’s sides between light-coloured fiberglass and dark glazing recalls at first glance the lines of a traditional sport yacht, but a more careful look reveals the full-height volume that extends almost to the bow stem . The large vertical and horizontal glazed surfaces are combined like part of a crystal sphere, and offer plenty of natural light and space for a yacht a ‘mere’ 76 feet long.

The open air life is guaranteed by generous outdoor spaces , designed to enjoy maximum comfort. The cockpit , which on a mega yacht would be called a beach club , delivers unusual volumes, on three levels dropping down to the water: the dining area with a large table protected by the overhang of the flybridge, the central section furnished with big sofas, a table and a maxi sun lounging pad, and the stern swim platform. The fly deck offers a second helm station, an area for socialising with a C-shaped sofa and a huge sun lounging pad, without compromising on the exterior styling of EXTRA 76 in any way. Below deck EXTRA 76 boasts a full-beam owner’s cabin with en-suite bathroom and twin basins , a shower and a separate bath tub, as well as a walk-in closet. For guests there are a VIP cabin to fore with a double bed and two double cabins with twin beds. The cabin for two crew is in the bow and has a private head.

The propulsion system of EXTRA 76 relies on two Volvo Penta IPS 1050 engines that take the boat to a maximum speed of 22 knots in semi-displacement mode and provide a range of over 700 nautical miles at cruising speed.

In addition, the glazed surfaces in the saloon incorporate photo-voltaic cells to generate clean power . This is used to recharge the service batteries, so that equipment like lights and appliances can be used without turning on the generators at anchor.

ISA Yachts – part of the Palumbo Superyachts group – has announced the sale of an EXTRA 93 ‘ luxury yacht to a European client.

Motor yacht ISA EXTRA 93

The 28m/92ft superyacht is the 4th vessel sold by Palumbo Superyachts so far in 2018, following on from the Columbus S50 metre, the ISA Extra 76 and the ISA Extra 126 .

Featuring interior and exterior styling from Francesco Guida , the Extra 93′ is built from composite gull to RINA standards and CE marked with the goal of raising comfort, livability and fuel efficiency on board while providing greater interior volumes for yachts below 30m/100ft.

Superyacht ISA EXTRA 93

The accommodation sleeps up to 10 guests in five en-suite cabins, with the full-beam Master suite placed on the main deck forward and two VIP staterooms and two further guest cabins placed on the lower deck.

In terms of speed, Volvo Penta IPS engines produce a top speed of 18 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots in semi-displacement mode.

The Extra 93′ is currently under construction in Ancona, Italy , and will be ready for delivery to her owner in summer 2019.

Manslaughter investigation launched into seven deaths after Bayesian superyacht tragedy

A manslaughter investigation has been launched into the Sicily yacht sinking which killed seven people this week, an Italian prosecutor confirmed.

Tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch and his daughter Hannah were found inside the Bayesian superyacht after it capsized off Porticello, east of Palermo, as a result of violent winds and rain.

Ms Lynch, 18, was the last passenger who was reported missing to be found following the incident, which also took the life of one of the yacht’s chefs Recaldo Thomas.

Public prosecutor of nearby town Termini Imerese, Ambrogio Cartosio told reporters at a press conference at the town’s court that his office has opened an initial investigation into manslaughter.

Mr Cartosio confirmed that six of the people who died were recovered on the left side of the yacht after it sunk, according to a translation provided by the BBC.

The gruelling five-day search, which had ‘some 70 people helping’ every day, saw specialised divers having to deal with ‘very little visibility due to the weather conditions’.

Girolamo Bentivoglio added: ‘The yacht obviously pinned to the right and obviously the (people) tried to go on the other side and then took refuge in their cabins.

‘We found four or five bodies in the cabin on the left and there was another one in the third cabin on the left too, and obviously they were in the higher part of the wreck.

‘Obviously, emergency procedures were implemented by the divers and obviously we installed cameras and involved further divers. And we involved obviously helicopter services and other surveillance cameras.’

Among the survivor’s of the sinking is Mr Lynch’s wife, whose company owned the ship, Morgan Stanley International bank chairman Jonathan Bloome and the yacht’s captain James Cutfield. All of the survivors have been questioned by the coast guard on behalf of prosecutors.

The Italian prosecutor clarified that there is no legal obligation for the captain, crew and passengers to remain in Italy during the investigation, but they are expected to fully cooperate.

According to a leading coastguard official, it is unclear how long it will take to recover the shipwreck and recovering the fuel tanks is a ‘priority because it has environmental knock-on effects’.

Maritime director of western Sicily Rear Admiral Raffaele Macauda of the coastguard said: ‘Well, you know, we’re talking about a shipwreck at 50 metres down.

‘Everything depends on the availability of the owners and the timeframe of the retrieval of the wreck and of course all that has to be submitted to the port authorities and in parallel of course there will be the inquiry results and it’s only really then that we will be able to authorise the operation.

‘I can’t say, like some experts who have already spoken on the subject, that it will be eight weeks.’

Il pluripremiato yacht a vela da 56 m (Salute, era il suo precedente nome) è stato costruito da Perini Navi in ​​Italia presso il loro cantiere navale di Viareggio. Gli interni sono stati progettati dalla casa di design Remi Tessier, realizzati nel 2008 e ristrutturati l'ultima volta nel 2020.

Bayesian è stato progettato per ospitare comodamente fino a 12 ospiti in 6 suite. La suite armatoriale a tutto baglio, estremamente spaziosa, è fornita di spogliatoio. Oltre agli ospiti, cabine anche per 10 membri dell'equipaggio.
