The Complete Guide to Eating at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts

By Leigh Caldwell 2 Comments

There are LOTS of Disney resorts , and it can be hard to choose which one to stay at.

yacht club resort quick service

Disney’s Yacht Club

If you’re a big Disney food fan (like we are!), the restaurants at each resort may influence your decision. Allow us to make that decision easier for you! Let’s head over to Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts for The Complete Guide to Eating at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts!

There are 10 places you can eat at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. Let’s take a look at the tried-and-true favorites at each location!

Ale & Compass Restaurant

Ale & Compass is known for its New England-inspired comfort food. It is part of a larger complex that includes the Ale & Compass Lounge and a small market. If you’re a fan of sweet breakfasts, don’t miss the Dark Chocolate Waffle, which is served with Cherry Compote and Espresso-Mascarpone Cream.

yacht club resort quick service

So much yum!

At dinner, the New England Seafood Pot Pie (with shrimp, scallops, crab and vegetables in a flaky crust) is a favorite. You’ll also find classics like steak, roast chicken, and burgers on the menu.

Ale & Compass Lounge

The Ale & Compass Lounge just off the Disney’s Yacht Club Resort lobby is a great place to grab a drink and an appetizer. It was remodeled a few years ago, and the look now is modern and sleek, with nautical touches.

yacht club resort quick service

It just seems right to drink a Dark & Stormy or a Regal Manhattan in this classy space. Food is served here from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. nightly, and while it is labeled as appetizers, you can get a burger or a flatbread that is definitely large enough to serve as dinner.

Click Here for Our Latest Review of Ale & Compass Lounge

The market at ale & compass.

This quick-service location has a focus on grab-and-go items such as cold sandwiches, fruit cups, and salads. But there is a coffee bar, and there are hot items available here, as well.

yacht club resort quick service

Chilled Options

Best bets here include the Ham and Cheese Breakfast Sandwich served on a Pretzel Roll , or the Cuban Sandwich for lunch or dinner. The Market is also a great place to find special, themed cupcakes and other treats around the holidays.

Cape may cafe.

Cape May Cafe is home to a popular character breakfast — the Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast. You can usually find Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy here — and they are all dressed up in adorable beach wear! The buffet is pretty standard breakfast fare, with the Salted Caramel “Beach Buns” as a highlight.

Minnie is ready for a day at the beach!

At dinner, the Cape May dinner buffet features New England seafood favorites, including Clam Chowder, snow crab legs, and fried seafood. Do not miss the Oreo Bonbons among the dessert selection here. They are a cookies-and-cream mousse-filled bonbon on top of an Oreo cookie, and they are a perennial DFB favorite!

Beaches and cream.

There’s one place to go when you want large and over-the-top ice cream treats, and that’s Beaches & Cream ! We particularly love the No Way Jose Sundae and Kitchen Sink offerings.

yacht club resort quick service

Kitchen Sink Sundae

We suggest grabbing the Kitchen Sink only if you’re with a group because it’s a LOT of ice cream to finish! This giant treat includes a scoop of every ice cream on their menu, along with every single one of their toppings , so it really is a challenge! While you do need a reservation to dine inside the restaurant , the to-go window offers ice cream to take with you to your final destination. You can also grab a burger and fries here for lunch or dinner!

Learn more about Beaches & Cream here!

Beach club marketplace.

Like The Market at Ale & Compass, Beach Club Marketplace is a quick service location where you will find both hot food and grab-and-go options. The Steak and Egg Breakfast Sandwich with Swiss Cheese and Garlic-Peppercorn Ranch Dressing is a specialty in the mornings.

yacht club resort quick service

Rainbow Mickey Caramel Cheesecake

This is another good place to look for fun seasonal treats, like this Rainbow Mickey Caramel Cheesecake we found there for Pride Month. If you’re looking for an inexpensive dinner option, the Half-Roasted Chicken Dinner with mashed potatoes, vegetables, and cornbread is big enough to split and less than $15.

Check Out These BEAUTIFUL Cupcakes We Found at Beach Club Marketplace!

Martha’s vineyard lounge.

We suggest the wings and mussels at Martha’s Vineyard . And if you’re a fan of out-of-this-world drinks, this is a place you will want to check out. The space is designed to be reminiscent of a New England beach house, but we will say that the theming here isn’t great compared to other lounges on the property.

yacht club resort quick service

It’s a Candy Cane Mimosa!

We’ve seen candy cane mimosas and jelly bean cocktails at this location before , so Martha’s Vineyard may be a fun place to check out.

Are These Drinks at Martha’s Vineyard a Little TOO crazy? You Tell Us!

Hurricane hanna’s .

Hurricane Hanna’s is the pool bar for the Yacht and Beach Club’s Stormalong Bay pool. You should know that you cannot swim in the pool unless you are a guest of the Yacht Club or Beach Club, but anyone can enjoy a drink or a snack at Hurricane Hanna’s.

yacht club resort quick service

Storm Chaser and Souvenir Cup

The food here will not be the best thing you eat on the trip, but it is decent for a day enjoying the sunshine. Kids’ meals are served in a plastic sand bucket with attached shovel, which is a fun treat that can then be put-to-use playing in the sand! We DO love a good blue drink, and the Storm Chaser — made with Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Bacardi Superior Rum, Blue Curaçao and Sweet-and Sour topped with Sprite — is a fun reason to spend some time watching the action in the pool here.

Click Here for Our Review of the Stormchaser!

Yachtsman steakhouse.

We highly recommend Yachtsman Steakhouse as the place you can find some of the best steaks on Disney World property. You will get a traditional steakhouse experience here — one that caters to nearly all tastes.

yacht club resort quick service

Filet Mignon at Yachtsman Steakhouse

We definitely recommend ordering the Cognac-Truffle Butter for your steak, and the Truffle Mac and Cheese is a side dish that would please just about anyone. We find the size of the side dishes to be big enough for two — so keep that in mind when ordering here!

Click Here for a Recent Review of Yachtsman Steakhouse!

Crew’s Cup Lounge

The Crew’s Cup Lounge is right next door to Yachtsman Steakhouse. We love the cozy vibes here! While you won’t find a lot of specialty drinks, the Crew’s Cup Lounge is a good place for beer or a glass of wine, and stocks several scotches and cognacs . It’s also a good place to watch a game if you’re missing watching sports while on vacation.

yacht club resort quick service

Starting at 5PM, Crew’s Cup serves a limited menu of favorites from the steakhouse next door. We recommend the Yachtsman Signature Bread (especially the onion pull-apart rolls!), and the Lobster Bisque .

Click Here for a Recent Review of Crew’s Cup Lounge!

Epcot festivals.

You can walk to EPCOT from this resort, so we would be remiss if we didn’t mention that some of best eats available to you could be right inside EPCOT’s International Gateway if there’s a festival going on!

yacht club resort quick service

EPCOT Food & Wine Festival

EPCOT festivals truly have a plethora of different options , so it’s great if no one in your group can decide on one place to eat, or if you have many items to check off your festival list anyway! Check the pages below for the latest dates, menus and information on EPCOT’s festivals:

  • EPCOT International Festival of the Arts
  • EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival
  • EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival

Walking around Disney’s BoardWalk is also a great option, as it’s really close by and has some great restaurants as well .

It is hard to beat Ale and Compass for a delicious breakfast and we love lunch at Beaches and Cream…especially the tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich. Yum! Both of these restaurants are good reasons to stay on the Boardwalk as far as we are concerned!

Looking forward to our lunch at Beaches and Cream next month. Lunch choices will probably be chicken sandwiches, followed by dessert (No Way Jose and Strawberry Shortcake). We usually order burgers or grilled cheese, but the chicken sandwich sounds so delicious, so we decided to be a bit different; but we need our favorite desserts.

7 Things To Know About Ale & Compass Restaurant at Disney World

yacht club resort quick service

Walt Disney World’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts hold some of our very favorite restaurants between these two sister resorts that share several amenities. We’re always up for a meal at Beach Club’s Cape May Café, or even a satisfying sweet-tooth dessert at Beaches and Cream Soda Shop. And who could pass on the outstanding entrees offered at Yacht Club Resort’s Yachtsman Steakhouse? Well, we are pleased to have tried this eatery within the Yacht Club Resort known as Ale & Compass Restaurant and would like to share seven things you’ll want to know before dining there!

1 – Yacht Club Takes On An “Ale & Compass” Dining Theme

In October 2017, Yacht Club Resort began a dining transformation, unifying the quick-service dining, lobby lounge, and lobby restaurant with a general “Ale & Compass” dining theme. The Market at Ale & Compass is located down the hall from Yacht’s lobby (in the gift shop), and is a bright and modern quick-service option that is perfect grab-and-go food. When entering the Yacht Club lobby, look to the left to find the elegant and sleek Ale & Compass Lounge with Ale & Compass Restaurant right next door. The overall Ale & Compass theme across all three locations is modern and sleek but keeps that nautical Yacht Club Resort feel.

2 – Transformation from Captain’s Grille to Ale & Compass Restaurant

When Captain’s Grille closed in 2017 for “refurbishment”, we were more intrigued than disappointed. While we enjoyed the occasional meal at Captain’s Grille, it wasn’t a must-do on our list and more of a restaurant selection if it fits into our plans. While the restaurant was bright and airy, it was definitely lacking in décor with much-outdated carpets, tables, and chairs. It honestly was falling behind in what one would expect of a Yacht Club Resort restaurant. Ale & Compass opened on November 21, 2017, with a much-needed face-lift to the entire space. From floor to ceiling, the décor alone is a huge improvement, as is the menu and taste of the food.

3 – A New England Atmosphere With A Modern Twist

Like Captain’s Grille, Ale & Compass Restaurant is still in a lighthouse shape with multiple circular windows and large open windows to the resort lobby and hallway. The new colors inside exude a nautical feeling with a dark blue hue overall. The seating transformation is awesome, with a combination of bench seating mixed with chairs. The lighting and open floor plan offer a bright and airy space, but it still makes for what could be an intimate meal. Wine glasses and blue cloth napkins dress the table for what feels like a high-end restaurant while still being a family-friendly location. Upon entering the restaurant, the focal point is the open hearth oven area with a bar top option with a few seats available. Also near the entrance is an open doorway where guests can enter the neighboring Ale & Compass Lounge.

4 – Three Different Meal Menus

Something we love about Ale & Compass is that breakfast, lunch, and dinner are totally different menus. We especially love when resort restaurants offer different meal options so you can have a totally different experience at each mealtime if you want!

  • On a typical day, breakfast is served between 7:30 am-11:00 am. All of your usual breakfast dishes are served up with a slight New England flare, like the Dark Chocolate Waffle or Salted Caramel Apple French Toast. Go light with yogurt and granola or heavy with pancakes and cinnamon rolls. A great variety, especially for a breakfast menu!

Editor’s Note: I enjoyed breakfast at Ale & Compass. The food was delicious, and the meal itself was a fantastic value. For just $25, you’ll receive your choice of entree, along with a buffet that includes Seasonal Fruit, Assorted Yogurt Parfaits, Assorted Breakfast Pastries, House-made Granola, Artisanal Cheeses, Assorted Spreads, Jellies, Preserves, Oatmeal with Traditional Garnishes, Biscuits and Gravy. Coffee, Tea, Juice, and Soft Drinks are included. I left full and satisfied, and my Salted Caramel-Apple French Toast was one of the best breakfast items I’ve had at Walt Disney World. I highly recommend this breakfast! –Cindy

  • Lunch is served between 11:45 am and 2:00 pm. The stars on the menu are the seafood items like the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake. However, we enjoyed some non-seafood dishes like the Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Tomato Soup and the Bacon and Vermont Cheddar Burger.
  • Dinner is served from 5:00 pm-9:00 pm. The menu transforms into more signature style dishes such as the Cabernet-braised Short Ribs, Sustainable Catch of the Day, and New England Seafood Pot Pie to name a few.

Excellent selections for all three meals! Our kiddos especially loved the kid’s cheeseburger and pasta. Plus, our gluten-sensitive family was impressed at the number of gluten-friendly options Ale & Compass offered.

5 – Dessert and Beverages To Be Remembered

What meal is complete without dessert?! Lunch and dinner dessert highlights include the Warm Apple Cobbler and the Twelve-Layer Chocolate Cake. After all, the restaurant is ALE & Compass Restaurant, so you can expect to find refreshing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages on the menu. Alcoholic breakfast beverage recommendations would have to be the Bloody Mary or the Mimosa. Lunch and dinner drink menus offer a great variety of fantastic ale, wine, and cocktail selections. We enjoyed the Seaworthy Breeze Cocktail, including Yacht Club Vodka, grapefruit, and cranberry juices.

6 – On-Point Cast Member Service

We were pleasantly pleased with Ale & Compass Restaurant’s Cast Members. The hostess was super friendly and eager to seat us right away. Our server was exceptionally helpful. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and was a huge help with our family’s gluten allergy. We especially loved how attentive she was to our children. She even brought them Mickey straws just for fun! The food arrived fast, and the Chef must have been well-trained because the food looked and tasted wonderful.

7 – Ease of Reservations

While we always recommend making Advanced Dining Reservations 60 days in advance of your dining date, we will say we were surprised to find dining reservations readily available for Ale & Compass Restaurant. While waiting to be seated for our lunch, we saw several people walk in with no reservations. Keep this resort restaurant in your hip pocket if you are in need of a last-minute dining option. You’ll experience a relaxing atmosphere, great service, and excellent food and beverages!

Have you tried Ale & Compass Restaurant? We’d love to hear about your experience!

Yacht Club Dining

Disney Yacht Club from across the water

Dining at the Disney Yacht Club is the ideal blend of upscale and convenient, with plenty of options. Fitting with the feel of the resort, the dining locations have that county club vibe, even the quick service spots. All the while, the food is high quality and delicious!

The Disney Yacht Club also shares a few of our favorite dining locations with its sister, the Disney Beach Club . Get the best of both worlds with dining at this resort, Yacht Club providing class and Beach Club providing fun.

The galley is always open – disney resorts room service.

Enjoy a meal in the quiet and privacy of your own room with the Disney Resorts Room Service, excellent food options delivered right to your door. Just press “Dining Options” on your in-room phone, place an order, and the food comes to you.

At the Yacht Club, you’ll find typical Disney food options along with some nautical favorites, fitting with the theme of the resort. A delicious lobster and corn chowder or yummy local baked fish are perfect for seafood-lovers, or splurge on a fabulous Maine lobster roll. If you prefer landlubber cuisine, a brick lemon-herb chicken or a bacon cheeseburger will match your tastes. Buffalo wings and fries are always a good choice too if you need something quick and simple. Kids have plenty of their favorite options as well, like chicken nuggets and cheeseburgers.

There are also some awesome dessert options on the menu! If you missed the chance to hit Beaches & Cream, you can order ice cream up to your room. You can even get an entire cake to share, which is nice for a special occasion.

An 18% gratuity, $5.00 delivery charge and 6.5% sales tax will apply to all delivery orders.

The Market at Ale & Compass

Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, The Market at Ale & Compass is the main quick service dining option at the Disney Yacht Club. Simply referred to as The Market , you can get a fast and filling meal any time of the day, and take a few minutes to peruse the souvenirs in the adjoining shop.

Especially if you’re in a hurry, The Market is a great place to take advantage of Mobile Order . This awesome service allows you to use the My Disney Experience app to order ahead at quick service locations. That means your food will be ready when you arrive! Pick up your food as you walk in, and head right back out, or stay and enjoy your meal. Either way, it will save you the time of waiting for the food to be prepared.

The Market at Ale & Compass

One of our go-to items at any quick service location is the Breakfast Bowl, with scrambled eggs, a Mickey waffle, bacon, and potato barrels (tater tots). I like to get these sorts of combo meals because they are easy to split, and definitely filling. A top tip is to avoid overeating, especially at breakfast, so splitting this meal is ideal. Also available, try different breakfast sandwiches and a healthier egg-white wrap if you want something of your own. Plain Mickey waffles are always a delicious option!

Snacks are well stocked at The Market, so pick up fruit, yogurt, or milk and cereal if you like to breakfast light. Plenty of yummy treats await you at the bakery as well, the chocolate-hazelnut croissant being one of my breakfast favorites.

Don’t forget to fill your mug with coffee, juice, tea, or milk!

Lunch and Dinner

For these times, a variety of hot or cold sandwiches and salads make for nice, light meals. The Cuban sandwich is one of the most popular hot items, with ham, slow-roasted pork, Swiss cheese, pickles, mayonnaise, and mustard all on a hoagie roll served with house-made chips. You can also grab a foot-long chili-cheese hotdog, similar to the gourmet hotdogs served at the Beach Club Marketplace.

Cold sandwiches are great to grab in the morning to take to the parks, or to bring out to eat by the pool. You could even pick one up before you leave, giving you a portable lunch if you’re driving home. Among these are the roast beef sandwich, slices of roast beef topped with horseradish cream, caramelized onions, and arugula all on multigrain bread. Vegetarians will love the roasted vegetable sandwich with roasted Portobello mushrooms, zucchini, red bell peppers, and cauliflower dressed with roasted red pepper hummus, topped with slices of fresh tomatoes and grilled onion served on herb Focaccia bread. Both sandwiches come with house-made chips.

Other Options

Kids have the additional options of grilled cheese, macaroni and cheese, a ham sandwich, and an Uncrustable. The children’s meals come with a choice of sides and beverage, making these items a great deal.

The bakery is open all day, so don’t forget to snag something sweet! Sticky buns, chocolate twists, and brownies are all amazing. The bakery also has seasonal cupcakes , each with their own amazing flavor profile and fun decoration!

In the evening, stop by The Market for a variety of beer and wines, which you can enjoy there or take back to your room. If you want something to go, I suggest getting a bottle of wine rather than wine by the glass. You’ll have it for your whole trip, and get more value for your dollar.

There are two main lounges at the Disney Yacht Club – the Ale & Compass Lounge and the Crew’s Cup Lounge. Both are excellent places to relax in the evening, and enjoy a delicious beverage. These are both full bars, so only overage guests are permitted.

The Ale & Compass Lounge

Grab a drink while you wait for your Ale & Compass reservation, or simply lounge in the relaxed atmosphere. The Ale & Compass Lounge is ideal for a relaxing evening or quick bite, all while enjoying a refreshing drink. Opening at 4:00pm and staying open until 10:00pm, this lounge is a great place for an evening hangout.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Monica Glenn (@ftjtravelbymonica)

Healthy-sized appetizers comprise the food options, giving you filling snacks or lighter meals, depending on your plans. Items like the Parker House rolls with assorted spreads – bacon jam, pub cheese, and citrus butter – are great if you just want something to nibble while you drink. Flatbreads and a bacon cheeseburger are perfect for dinner in the lounge, both options are full sized meals.

In addition to the full-bar offerings, the Ale & Compass Lounge has several original cocktails. A twist on a class, the Maple Old Fashioned will give you that New England feeling. Made with Jim Beam Black Extra-aged Bourbon, maple syrup, orange juice, and angostura bitters, this is a great way to change up your regular. For those in a spicy mood, try the Spicy Pomegranate Margarita. Mix Tequila, Ancho Reyes Chile liqueur, pomegranate juice, and simple syrup together to create a zesty and delicious cocktail! A squirt of fresh lime juice on the top adds a bit of tang and cuts the heat.

Enjoy nonalcoholic mixers as well, like a grapefruit spritzer and the No-Kick Mule, just with ginger beer and lime.

Crew’s Cup Lounge

Outside the Yachtsman Steakhouse, the Crew’s Cup Lounge is a nice alternative if you can’t get a reservation at the steakhouse. The Crew’s Cup is also a good place for one of those appetizer as dinner nights, when you’re up to your ears in delicious (but rich!) Disney food.

On the appetizer menu, share a savory and delightful charcuterie and cheese board, coming with different accompaniments depending on the season. For something a little more substantial, the prime rib sliders are perfect, topped with horseradish cream and served on house-made onion rolls. Jumbo shrimp cocktail are always a great option as well, a light snack with just enough protein to get you to your next meal. Have the shrimp with the Yachtsman signature bread to round out a meal.

Crew’s Cup also offers full entrees, so you can add this to your dinner spot list. After 5:00pm, you can get an amazing ten-ounce prime rib, served with mashed potatoes and horseradish cream. For something a little different, try the Twice-fried Green Circle Chicken. Smoked Feta spoon bread and chicken croquettes come with pickled rhubarb and fiddlehead ferns, an interesting take on fried chicken.

You’ll come for the food, but stay for the drinks! Along with an extensive beer, wine, and bourbon selection, Crew’s Cup offers a large variety of signature cocktails. Literally Walk the Plank with an amazing blend of rye whiskey, orange juice, almond liqueur, and lemon juice garnished with Maraschino cherries. Combine the elements of country and tropical vacation with a Whiskey Breeze – Jim Beam Black Extra-aged Bourbon, Cointreau, and lime juice shaken with guava and mango for that aloha vibe. You could also choose to drink your dessert with the Godiva Chocolate Martini. A divine concoction, this martini mixes Godiva chocolate liqueur, Stoli Vanil vodka, Bols White Crème de Cacao, and Frangelico. This sweet treat will warm you from the inside out!

Available for breakfast and dinner, the Ale & Compass Restaurant is a great option for a nice family meal. Especially if you’re looking for a quality table service breakfast, you have to try out the Ale & Compass!

Think breakfast favorites, with an upgrade. The American Breakfast has the right balance of breakfast foods – two eggs any-style, breakfast potatoes, and choice of breakfast meats. Eggs benedict get the added decadence of smoked pork loin, along with herbs and spices in the hollandaise sauce.

While these dishes are amazing, the quick bread breakfast items change the game. No plain French toast here, but instead, we see salted-caramel apple French toast. Two massive pieces of French toast, sliced horizontally, and stuffed with delicious caramel apples. A buttery brown sugar crumble and salted-caramel drizzle tops the slices, completing the picture. However, that isn’t the end. The Dark Chocolate Waffles are to die for! Three thick, circular waffles hold a dried cherry compote, on top of which sits huge dollops of espresso-mascarpone cream, finished with chocolate shavings. It’s a good thing these richly incredible waffles come with a side of breakfast meat to cut through the sweet deliciousness!

Kid’s Meals

For your kiddos, they can get their favorites Mickey waffles or blueberry pancakes if in the mood for something sweet. Scrambled eggs and a mini-breakfast sandwich are great options if they want a savory dish instead.

As always, I recommend splitting an adult meal between two kids. Especially if they want to try something like the chocolate waffles or the French toast, the split is perfect. It actually works out to be cheaper than a kid’s meal!

Ale & Compass does specialty brunches for Easter and Mother’s Day, a great way to treat yourself or Mom! Going to be dining at the Disney Yacht Club during these holidays? You might want to consider an Ale & Compass brunch.

A great mix of surf and turf, Ale & Compass has a dinner menu that will please everyone in your group. To start your meal, try the amazing lobster and corn chowder or roasted garlic shrimp, both coming with house-made items to dip. Smaller plates are available in the form of salads and flatbreads, both meat and vegetables options to fit all dietary needs.

Of the main plates, our favorites would have to be the New England Seafood Pot Pie, braised short ribs, and the brick lemon chicken. For the potpie, it is stuffed full of a plethora of different seafood – shrimp, scallops, lump crab, and the catch of the day. Mixed in are pearl onions, peas, and potatoes, all coated in a creamy seafood cream sauce. The flaky pastry on the outside completes this delectable dish. The short ribs are fall-apart tender, accompanied by a flavorful roasted vegetable mash and barbecue demi sauce for dipping. Alongside the lemon chicken, you’ll love the duck fat-roasted potatoes and veggie sauté. Add truffle fries with a house-made shallot mayo for extra decadence!

If that weren’t enough, the three dessert options will send you right over the edge. Completely plant-based, the mango torte layers mango mousse and spiced lemon pound cake, covered with fresh berries and a raspberry sauce. You could also try the warm apple cobbler served with frozen vanilla custard, or a rich flourless chocolate cake covered in chocolate ganache and offset by a coffee Chantilly cream. Basically, if you’re not rolling out of Ale & Compass, something went wrong with your meal!

Kids have the ability to build their own meals, choosing from a selection of main dishes and sides. Kids that are more adventurous might like the pasta Bolognese or catch of the day, while a cheeseburger is there to save the day for pickier eaters. Side options include sautéed broccolini, macaroni & cheese, corn, and red potatoes, and kid approved! The side menu includes two dessert options – mini ice cream sandwiches and honey-marshmallow s’mores. Kids can choose to get one savory side and one sweet, working their dessert into the price of their meal.

Open only for dinner, the Yachtsman Steakhouse is the signature dining experience at the Disney Yacht Club. Designed to be elegant, upscale, and a true yacht-country club experience, this steakhouse has high quality dishes and a fabulous atmosphere. Yachtsman Steakhouse even has a dress code, heightening the fancy feel of the restaurant.

I recommend making this a date night or adults-only meal. Of course, you can bring your kids, but they need to adhere to the dress code as well. Between that and the sophisticated style of the place, you need to decide if this is the best place to bring your kids.

First Course

Yes, they even refer to the stages of the meal as courses!

First course items include steakhouse staples like a wedge salad, Caesar salad, and French onion soup, all of which are perfect ways to start your evening. If you want to try something a little different, consider the Ahi tuna tartare with a poke vinaigrette and wasabi, or the creamy lobster bisque. You could also get a charcuterie or cheese board to share if you don’t want to fill up before the main meal.

Chef’s Signature Offerings

These three dishes come recommended by the Yachtsman’s chef, and designed to be truly delicious experience. The first is the Chilled Captain’s Tower, a combination of jumbo shrimp, mussels, oyster shooters, scallop ceviche, and charred octopus salad. As the name suggests, the tower is served cold, and is ideal for the true seafood lover. If you prefer your seafood hot, I recommend you try one of the Land and Sea entrees instead.

Both of the other signatures dishes are made to share between two people. The first is a 28-oz prime porterhouse steak, 21-Day dry-aged, with accompaniments of bone marrow, green onion brioche bread, garlic butter, and your choice of two sides. Second is the Chilled Admiral’s Tower, and upgraded version from the Captain’s Tower. In addition to the Captain’s Tower seafood, the Admiral’s Tower also has Maine lobster, snow crab, and tuna tartare. Again, this item is served cold.

Butcher’s Cuts

It is a steakhouse after all, and these steaks are the main event. Filet mignon, prime rib, rib-eye, and New York strip all come cooked to order, with their own incredible seasonings and sauces to bring out the flavor of the meat. Of these, the filet mignon is my personal pick, covered in a cognac-truffle butter that adds to the unctuous nature of the steak.

Each steak comes with your selection of mashed potatoes, potato-leek gratin, sweet potato casserole, house-made French fries, or broccolini. You can also choose to add to your meal one of the signature Steakhouse Sides – truffle macaroni & cheese, creamed spinach, loaded hasselback potato, house-made truffle fries, or braised mushrooms. I suggest getting the broccolini with your meal (you’ll be glad for a vegetable!) and then adding one of the richer steakhouse sides.

Yachtsman Steakhouse offers further enhancements if you want to add to the luxurious nature of your meal. Get your steak Oscar-style, with asparagus, lump crab meat, and a rich béarnaise sauce. You can also add a half lobster, bone marrow, or thick-cut bacon for a little extra richness.

Land and Sea Entrees

Here’s where the hot, succulent seafood pairs with the delicious steakhouse offerings. Whole Maine lobster and Georges Bank Scallops are paired with incredible sauces and accompaniments to bring out their delicate flavors. If you want something unique, you might enjoy the Cervena Elk from the land side, with a parsnip puree and blueberry sauce.

You can also add the bone marrow or half a lobster to the items, or get them Oscar-style.

Yachtsman has several amazing desserts, but my picks would be the chocolate lava cake and the banana bread pudding. Using high quality chocolate, this lava cake is unlike any you’ve ever had. In addition the cake itself, it comes with a refreshing coconut ice cream to cut through the richness and is topping with a raspberry-Chambord Sauce and gingersnap crumbs.

The banana bread pudding is warm, comforting, and delicious. Caramelized bananas have the right touch of sweetness, as does the caramel rum sauce on top. A side of butter pecan ice cream ties the whole dessert together.

Disney Yacht and Beach Club Dining

While two separate resorts, the Disney Yacht Club shares a few dining locations with the Disney Beach Club. Of course, if you’re staying at either, it is easy to pop over to the other resort to enjoy the dining options. After all, the resorts share a pool area, they’re that close together!

However, two dining spots are right in the middle of the Disney Yacht & Beach Club that you’ll want to check out!

Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grill

Out by the pool, Hurricane Hanna’s is the main pool bar and eatery for Stormalong Bay. This is a great place for you to get a poolside lunch or refreshing beverage, especially if you don’t want to have to trek back to your room. Don’t let the fact that this is a pool bar fool you, Hurricane Hanna’s has some delicious options!

Much like other pool bars, Hurricane Hanna’s has lighter fare, which is what you want out of a meal by the pool. Grab a cool Greek or Caesar salad, perfect for a hot day and a light lunch. If you want to make your salad a bit more substantial, you can add chicken for that extra protein. The rest of the savory items are sandwiches, again ideal for poolside eating. The Italian Focaccia and turkey and Swiss sandwiches are both delicious, but our favorite is the seafood roll. Fresh seafood comes tossed in a citrusy mayo dressing, with just the right amount of zing. All three sandwiches come with house-made chips, which gives just the right touch to the meal.

What would a bar be without amazing drinks! Hurricane Hanna’s has two specialty cocktails you’re going to love – the Category 5 and Storm Chaser. Category 5 has that pirate feel that will have you singing Yo-ho, yo-ho, a pirate’s life for me! With Captain Morgan spiced rum, crème de banana, peach schnapps, you’ll be feeling the island vibes in no time; add in a mix of orange and pineapple juices and a splash of grenadine to balance out the drink. If that wasn’t enough, the Category 5 also comes with a float of Gosling’s 151 Rum.

Meanwhile, the Storm Chaser is made with vodka, Bacardi superior rum, blue curacao, and sweet-and sour. A splash of Sprite brings a touch of sweetness and effervesce for a tropical buzz. Between these drinks and the beaches of Stormalong Bay, you’ll forget you’re not on a cruise !

Aside from these drinks, enjoy plenty of other cocktails on the rocks or frozen, as well as a wide variety of beer and wines. We recommend the Sunshine Margarita, a Disney poolside staple, or the Frosé, a frozen concoction of rosé mixed with vodka. Both are refreshing, and perfect for a sunny day by the pool.

For the kids and nondrinkers in your group, there are sweet and cool smoothie options as well as some virgin version of your favorites.

Beaches & Cream Soda Shop has been one of my favorites for as long as I can remember, and it is still one of my favorite places to visit. I can’t tell you how many fond memories I have of sitting out in front of the quick service window, waiting for our No Way José to appear. And then watching it disappear in a matter of minutes! Our family is decided ice-cream lovers, and Beaches & Cream never disappoints.

Beaches & Cream opens every day at 11:30am, providing a place to get a fun and delicious diner meal for lunch or dinner. You can always skip straight to dessert…many people do! Beaches & Cream is also open until 9:00pm, making it a great place to stop after a day at Epcot or on a walk around the boardwalk. This is usually when we stop by, after touring through the other resorts in the area or playing a round of mini-golf. It’s a great way to finish an evening!

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Amanda Smolko (@a_bookish_baker)

Beaches & Cream has a reputation for fantastic and fanciful desserts, but that’s not all there is to this location. The menu features delicious savory foods as well, combining diner favorites with a touch of table service sophistication. A nostalgic, 1950s diner feel makes this bright and fun location just a great place to hang out. Especially with the recent remodel, the larger space and new décor adds something to the atmosphere.

Diner Delights

Start with a classic cheeseburger, grilled cheese, or French dip sandwich. You could also go for two of the most popular items, the cheddar bacon-ranch chicken sandwich or house-made Reuben. It wouldn’t be a diner if you couldn’t get French fries or onion rings on the side, but Beaches & Cream added tater tots to their menu with the reopening! All your favorite loaded fry options now come in tot form, so if you’re a tot lover, you have to check these out.

Even though they are not listed on the menu right now, in the past Beaches & Cream has had a variety of salads to balance out the sandwich options, as well as a few seafood dishes. What’s great about Disney dining is that they are always rotating your options to keep things fresh, so be on the lookout for new additions!

You can always swing by the pickup window and take your lunch back to the pool, or enjoy your meal at the limited outdoor seating. However, if you definitely want to sit inside for the whole experience, a reservation is a must. Beaches & Cream is quite popular!

Soda Shop Marvels

Alright Mom, I had my dinner, now can I have dessert?

These incredible sweet treats will have you feeling like a kid again, and cause the actual kids in your group to go bananas!

To begin, you can get a classic strawberry shortcake or brownie a la mode. While both are delicious, these items are definitely elsewhere around Disney World , so we suggest going for one of the unique options that makes Beaches & Cream special. You’ll find these delicious delights on the Sundaes on the Beach section of the menu, and you’re going to be overwhelmed by your choices!

As I mentioned before, we are partial to the No Way José, an out of this world peanut butter and hot fudge masterpiece that features both chocolate and vanilla ice cream. Not enough? How about some chocolate pieces and whipped cream on top? Perfect.

The Fudge Mud Slide and Snickers Sundae are both similar to the No Way José, with three scoops of ice cream each, covered in chocolate, and topped with cookie pieces and Snickers bars respectively. You can also go for classics like a banana split or three-scoop sundae, giving you the chance to build your own delicious dessert

Even with all these other choices, the real star of this show is the infamous Kitchen Sink . Getting its name from the phrase “everything but the kitchen sink,” you won’t believe it until you see it. With eight scoops of ice cream, all the toppings in the store , huge chunks of cake, and an entire can of whipped cream , this sundae is no joke. The menu says that it serves four, but it really feeds more like six or eight. Recently, Beaches & Cream has added a Chocolate Lovers and Neapolitan option as well, which focuses more on these flavors.

Grabbing something to go? You can get a plain scoop of hand-dipped ice cream on cone or in a cup, or slurp up a rich milkshake. These are great if you’re planning to eat or drink as you walk, while meeting the need for a sweet treat.

No matter what dining option you choose at the Disney Yacht Club, you’re going to leave satisfied…and wanting to come back for more!

Review: The New Market Quick Service at the Yacht Club

By Dave Shute

THE MARKET AT DISNEY’S YACHT CLUB RESORT

yacht club resort quick service

A new quick service venue opened at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort in mid-May. I checked it out then, and then again in my June visit.

yacht club resort quick service

Part of a renovation (not yet complete) of the Yacht Club’s gift shop area, the new venue provides shelf stable snacks and breakfast goods, frozen treats, fruit, pastries, drinks, a coffee bar, cold packaged food, an eating area, and hot food. All are successful except the hot food, which is quite limited.

yacht club resort quick service

Traditionally the biggest weakness of Disney World’s Epcot resorts  has been their quick-service offerings. There’s a bit at the back of the Beach Club gift shop , more at the Stormalong Bay pool bar and grill, Hurricane Hanna’s , and a bit more at the Bakery along the Boardwalk. (Links are all to overviews on Disney’s site.)

The opening of the new Yacht Club venue, the Market, adds one more minor option among a bunch of other minor options. It’s better than nothing, but still quite limited.

On one side as you enter is the coffee bar and the area where hot food is prepared heated.

The coffee bar—Joffrey’s coffee—has the full range of coffee options.

Beyond the coffee and grill space is a seating area.

Deeper in the Market is a mix of shelf stable snacks, fruit, pastries, and breakfast items. Other than maybe the fruit, this is comparable to what you’ll find in many resort gift shops, but better merchandised.

Along a wall are freestyle refillable mug machines…

Around the corner is a microwave and frozen treats.

On the opposite wall is the cold case and hot case.

The hot case has a small selection of ready-to-eat cooked food.

This feta and spinach pastry came from it—it was delicious.

The same hot food can also heated to order behind the counter. The limited hot food menu is above.

My Ham and Cheddar Sandwich came from behind the counter looking like this.

yacht club resort quick service

Here it is out of its wrapping. This is likely a good choice for kids, as there is no particular taste for them to object to. I mixed hot sauce and mayonnaise together into a sort of gesture towards horseradish. With that it was fine.

The limited set of hot food means that, other than the drinks, there’s not much here beyond what you might find in a Disney World gift shop anyway. As an addition it is welcome, but it does little to make up for the general lack of quick service offerings in the Epcot resorts.

Note that Josh has a longer and more detailed review of the offerings at The Market here .

This counter location was needed. But wow, what a sanitary uninspiring space. Being a WDW fanatic, I generally go out of my on every trip to visit all things new, no matter how small. But I think you’ve taken care of me here, no need to go see that.

Jeff, definitely not worth a special trip!

The Ultimate Disney Yacht Club Review + Insider Tips

February 8, 2021 //  by  Kimberly Jones //   2 Comments

Disney’s Yacht Club opened back on November 5, 1990. Its sister location is the Beach Club located right next to it. The Yacht Club is a beautifully themed resort with nautical and beach themes. We are going to tell you everything you need to know about this wonderful resort in our Ultimate Disney Yacht Club Review + Insider Tips!

There are so many great aspects to this resort such as its location, pools, transportation options, and amenities. If you are thinking about staying at the Yacht Club, read on to find out if this resort is a good fit for you!

Where Is The Yacht Club At Disney Located?

One of the best reasons to stay at Disney’s Yacht Club is the fantastic location! This resort is within walking distance to Epcot and Hollywood Studios . There are also several different transportation options to all of the parks, Disney Springs , and the water parks .

The Yacht Club is directly next to the Beach Club, and they share the pool. Now you not only have access to all of the Yacht Club’s restaurants and amenities, but you also have access to the Beach Club’s!

The Yacht and Beach Club are right across the water from Disney’s Boardwalk Resort . It is a short walk away to enjoy everything the Boardwalk has to offer! There are some fun restaurants, bars, and shops to explore there.

The Yacht Club is also very close to the Swan and Dolphin Hotels. There is a pathway to take you right over to these hotels for some extra fun as well!

Not only are there other resorts within walking distance of the Yacht Club, but there are also resorts that are a quick Skyliner trip away! Taking the Skyliner from Epcot’s International Gateway, you can visit Disney’s Riviera Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, Pop Century , and Art of Animation!

Disney’s Yacht Club is in a very prime location with quick access to two of the parks and multiple resorts!

Checking in to The Yacht Club At Disney

Checking into the Yacht Club is extremely easy, and it doesn’t even require you to visit the front desk! The day of your reservation, you can check in to the resort from the My Disney Experience app . The app will let you know when your room is ready and what your room number will be! If you have magic bands or even your phone , you can head straight to your room and unlock the door.

Of course, you can always go the old school route and check-in at the front desk. All the cast members at Disney’s Yacht Club are extremely friendly and accommodating! A great tip to keep in mind is you can always see if there are any upgrades available for your room. We were able to get a free upgrade from a standard view to a water view!

The lobby is also absolutely amazing here. It has a very adventurous and nautical theme to it. You can find everything you need right in this area, such as the restaurant, lounge, bell services, and the front desk.

Right outside the backside of the lobby, there is a boardwalk that will lead you to the boat transportation to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

view of the lobby at Yacht Club Resort

Transportation Options From The Yacht Club

We love all of the transportation options the Yacht Club has to offer, and we’re sure you will too! As mentioned before, there are walking paths to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The Epcot walking path is very short and will get you to the International Gateway in about 5 – 10 minutes. The entrance at International Gateway is on the back side of Epcot by World Showcase .

The walking path to Hollywood Studios is a little bit longer than the Epcot one. This one can take 20 minutes or more. However, there is boat transportation to Hollywood Studios if you don’t want to walk! You can find boat transportation right behind the lobby that will take you to Epcot or Hollywood Studios.

If you don’t want to walk or take the boat to Hollywood Studios, you can always take the Skyliner! There is a Skyliner location right outside International Gateway that will take you first to Disney’s Riviera Resort, and then to the Skyliner central hub at Caribbean Beach Resort. From here you will get off the Skyliner and get in line for a different Skyliner track to take you to Hollywood Studios.

So there are so many options to get to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, but what about the other parks? Disney has bus transportation from the Yacht Club to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Spring, and the water parks.

If you plan on spending a lot of time at either Epcot or Hollywood Studios, the Yacht Club is one of the best resorts to stay at.

Disney Yacht Club Room Review

There are several different room options at the Yacht Club. There is Standard View, Water View, Garden or Woods View, and 2 Bedroom Suites. All of the view rooms also have club level options.

I was able to stay in a Water View room. The room was absolutely delightful! It had a nautical theme to match the rest of the resort, and it was quite spacious. The room had two queen beds and a pull out couch, so it was able to sleep up to 5 guests. We only had 4 guests in our room, but I could imagine the pull out bed might make the room feel a little more cramped.

The room had large closets with space to hang clothes, and a big sink and bathroom area with two sinks. The shower had a sliding glass door, which I prefer over a curtain.

I really liked that this room had wood flooring compared to carpet. It added to the nautical theme very well. The room also had a balcony that looked over the back entrance of the lobby and the water. Overall, the room was very nice, and I thoroughly enjoyed its set up!

Yacht Club rooms average in price anywhere between $400 to over $3000 per night depending on what room you stay in and what time of the year you visit.

Dining Options At The Yacht Club

There are some really great and delicious dining options at the Yacht Club. This resort has two restaurants, two lounges, a quick service restaurant, a restaurant located in between the Yacht and Beach Club, and a pool bar.

The two restaurants at the Yacht Club are Ale & Compass and Yachtsman Steakhouse. Yachtsman Steakhouse is currently temporarily unavailable, but Ale & Compass is open for breakfast and dinner. This restaurant follows the nautical theme with a relaxing atmosphere and some delicious coastal eats.

The Ale & Compass Lounge is located adjacent to the restaurant. Here, you can order off the lounge menu and even the restaurant menu. This lounge can fill up quickly at night though, so make sure to grab a seat early if you want to eat or drink here.

The other lounge, Crew’s Cup Lounge,  is right next to Yachtsman Steakhouse and is also temporarily unavailable. We hope that the lounge and restaurant will open soon!

The quick service location shares a spot with the Yacht Club’s gift shop. When you enter the Market at Ale & Compass, on the right is the gift shop and on the left is the quick service restaurant. They serve coffee, sandwiches, pastries, and more. This is a great place to stop for a quick bite to eat to or from the parks!

Beaches and Cream Soda Shop is the hidden gem of the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts! This restaurant is located in between the two resorts and serves some wonderful food! They are open for lunch and dinner and they serve sandwiches and burgers. My favorite is their Grilled Cheese sandwich, its delicious!

However, save room for the best part of this restaurant. The ice cream! They have shakes, floats, and sundaes! You can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. If you’re feeling really brave though, try the Kitchen Sink sundae. This sundae is meant for 4 or more people, and includes every topping and a whole can of whipped cream! I have attempted it twice, and I still haven’t been able to finish it. Maybe you can!

Hurricane Hanna’s Grill is the pool bar located right next to Stormalong Bay. They have a few food items and some refreshing drinks.

If you’ve tried everything at the Yacht Club and want something different, head over to the Beach Club! Here you can find even more restaurants and tasty eats!

Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club Resort

Yacht Club Swimming Pools

The Yacht and Beach Club have hands down the best swimming pools on Disney World property. It’s considered more of a small water park than swimming pools because it’s so large!

Stormalong Bay is 3 acres of refreshing fun! It includes a large sand bottomed pool and a lazy river. There are waterfalls, a volleyball net in the pool, and a water slide.

This water slide is no joke. You climb a large shipwrecked ship all the way to the top and then slide down this long and exciting slide! Stormalong Bay even has a “beach” area with sand to play with! After all that fun, go relax in one of 3 whirlpool spas.

Right by the entrance to the water slide is a small kid play area with a mini water slide. This is a great introduction to the big slide for nervous kids!

Don’t need all the excitement of Stormalong Bay? There are also 3 leisure pools at the Yacht and Beach Club for guests to enjoy.

If you plan on staying at the Yacht Club, you must plan a resort day into your schedule! Make some time for this awesome mini water park and relax away from the parks! You won’t regret it.

Amenities At The Yacht Club Resort

There are so many fun amenities and things to do at Disney’s Yacht Club. When it comes to activities, there are fishing excursions, a tennis court, a sand volleyball court, jogging trails, motorized boat rentals, an arcade, and a fitness center. Just ask the front desk if you’d like to book a fishing excursion or rent a boat to go out on the water!

The Yacht Club even has a spa! Ship Shape Massage Salon is a full service spa that can do massages, facials, hairstyling, and nails. We all need a relaxing day every once and awhile! Why not enjoy the spa on your day off from the parks?

The resort also has campfire activities, movies under the stars, and a Pirate Adventure Cruise (which is unfortunately temporarily unavailable at the moment). The Yacht Club is within walking distance of the Fantasia Gardens & Fairways Miniature Golf. Go show off your mini golf skills at this adorably themed course!

This resort really has a lot of fun things for you and your family to enjoy! You will definitely want to take a day away from the parks to enjoy this amazing resort!

Overall Thoughts On Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

We at Disney Trippers absolutely love Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. The whole place is incredibly peaceful and beautiful. It has the perfect mix of being family friendly and adult friendly with lots of things to do. So whether you’re traveling with a bunch of adults or your kids, everyone will enjoy it!

Most everything is in super close distance to this resort. The only time you will have to take the bus is to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Spring, or the water parks. The other parks and some resorts are really easy to get to, making this a top notch location for a resort.

If you have a day off from the parks, make sure to enjoy all of the amenities the Yacht Club has to offer. You could spend a whole day just having fun at the resort! You definitely don’t want to miss out on this place!

We stayed at the Disney Yacht Club the last time we were at DW. We loved it. The staff was outstanding. It was an adult family vacation, and due to different work schedules, some family members had to fly in at different times. The staff accommodated each one and made them feel as if they already knew them. We loved the location as we could walk to different locations. We tried the Kitchen Sink sundae, but couldn’t finish it. We sure had fun trying. We actually took one day to enjoy the resort and were not disappointed. We spent time in the swimming pool, which was amazing with the sand bottom. Lunch was an delicious lobster roll and we finished off at the steakhouse. I would certainly recommend this resort to all who are considering a trip to Disney World.

When to Book Guests may make advance dining reservations at select restaurants.

  • Guests with a Valid Disney Resort Hotel Reservation: Make reservations for your entire length of stay (for up to a 10-night stay) up to 60 days in advance of your arrival! This can help you enjoy streamlined vacation planning , since you can make all your reservations on the same day—rather than checking availability day after day.
  • All Other Guests: Make reservations up to 60 days in advance.

Explore dining experiences available for booking during your vacation.

Dining in the Theme Parks To dine at an in-park, table-service restaurant, you need a confirmed dining reservation for the total number of Guests—regardless of age—along with a park reservation and valid admission for the same park on that same date for each Guest ages 3 and up.

Dining reservations do not guarantee access to a park, and Park Hopper availability may change daily. We recommend that Guests book in-park dining at the park where they have a park reservation.

  Disney's Yacht Club Resort

Ahoy there, adventurer!

  • Introduction

After fun-filled days in the parks, retreat to this oversized New England beach house for a stay inspired by the nautical charms of the USA’s East Coast.

With two Walt Disney World theme parks within walking distance and a network of other transportation options at your fingertips, it’s easy to see why Disney’s Yacht Club is a sought-after hotel in Walt Disney World. Overlooking Crescent Lake and with the restaurants of Disney’s BoardWalk nearby, this is undoubtedly a prime location. The rooms have a luxurious feel, with hardwood floors and plush furnishings and have a slightly more formal feel than the neighbouring Disney’s Beach Club Resort, with which it shares restaurants and a three-acre water park. Stormalong Bay features a gentle-entry sand-bottom pool, lazy river, and slides. And when everyone’s exhausted from all the fun, a retro ice cream parlour stands by with sugar-laden treats to give everyone a boost.

Why we love Disney's Yacht Club Resort

The Disney parks open 30 minutes early and have extended evening hours just for guests of Disney Deluxe Resorts, like this one.

The transport options to get you to the park are excellent. Catching a boat to Disney’s Hollywood Studios or the Disney Skyliner to EPCOT makes getting there part of the fun. A complimentary bus takes you to and from Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

There are plenty of family activities, from organised games around the pool to toasting marshmallows around a campfire and complimentary Movies Under the Stars.

The vast pool complex is a winner on hot Florida days. It has a sandy beach that gently slopes into the water, slides, and a lazy river, too. You can rent a cabana to make a day of it.

The rooms feel more contemporary than other options in Walt Disney World, with understated Disney theming, an elegantly nautical palette, and hardwood floors. If you opt for a room without club-level benefits, you can choose a resort view or a water view – the rooms are otherwise the same and sleep up to five adults. Upgrading to Club Level Service gives you access to the exclusive Regatta Club with complimentary breakfast, snacks, and refreshments.

Accommodating up to five adults by opting for the two queen beds and a day bed configuration, these rooms have a patio or balcony that overlooks an area of the resort, such as the gardens, rooftop, or car park.

  • air-conditioning
  • balcony or patio
  • coffee maker
  • beverage cooler

Opt for the Water View room for a guaranteed pool or Crescent Lake view – perfect if you want to start or end your day relaxing on your private balcony or patio. Otherwise, it’s the same as a Resort View room.

Sleeps up to four adults. A patio or balcony overlooks the garden, rooftop, or car park. You’ll have complimentary access to the health club and the Regatta Lounge.

  • lounge access

This room has the same layout as a Resort View room, but you’ll have a view across the pool or lake from your patio or balcony.

  • Good to Know

This is a big hotel with a choice of restaurants to match, shared with the neighbouring Disney’s Beach Club Resort. They've thought of everything, from a top steakhouse to market-style cafes, a buffet, a poolside grill, and an ice cream parlour. The market-style venues are handy for stocking up on snacks ahead of days in the parks or grabbing coffee and breakfast to take with you. Within a ten-minute walk around Crescent Lake, there are more dining options at Disney’s BoardWalk and more choices within EPCOT.

Cape May Café This buffet restaurant hosts a character breakfast with Minnie Mouse and friends and opens again in the evening for a seafood buffet.

Beaches & Cream Soda ShopAlongside American staples of burgers and sandwiches for lunch and dinner, this ultra-themed diner serves the best ice cream and desserts.

Beach Club Marketplace Stock up on snacks and coffee before hitting the parks or pick up a quick breakfast or lunch from this café-meets-market venue.

Martha’s Vineyard This relaxed New England-style lounge features a bar menu of wings, potato skins, mussels, cheese plates, and a full drinks selection.

Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar & Grill Pick up refreshments for your pool day from this open-air grill.

Ale & Compass Restaurant Head here for a buffet or a la carte breakfast, sandwiches and burgers for lunch, or a wide-ranging selection of evening meal options.

Ale & Compass Lounge Feel like you’re aboard a luxury yacht in this nautical bar, where you’ll find a varied bar menu alongside savoury snacks.

The Market at Ale & Compass This grab-and-go option is ideal for a quick breakfast or picking up snacks for the day ahead.

Yachtsman Steakhouse Steaks and seafood are cooked in an open kitchen in this formal restaurant.

Crew’s Cup Lounge A cosy bar next to the Yachtsman Steakhouse, with a lounge menu if you’re just looking for a light bite.

The Market at Ale & Compass is a handy place to pick up morning coffee, a quick brekkie, and stocking up on emergency snacks ahead of a long day in the parks.

What's included

Upgrade options.

Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan The Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan is available at more than one hundred venues across Walt Disney World. For each night of your stay, each guest is given credits for two quick-service meals, one drink with each meal, one snack, and a refillable mug. The plan is loaded onto your Disney band or card, which you can use to redeem the credits anytime during your stay.

Disney Dining Plan Your Disney band or card is preloaded with credits that you can use to pay for meals at over two hundred locations across Walt Disney World. For each night of your stay, you will receive credits for one quick-service meal, one table-service meal, one drink per meal, and one snack. When you arrive, you will receive a refillable drink mug that you can use for free refills at your Disney resort hotel. Fine and signature dining, dinner shows, and character dining are included in the plan, but two table-service meals will be deducted from your dining credits.

The Ship Shape Health Club has a range of fitness equipment or follow one of the jogging trails around Crescent Lake. For recreation, there are plenty of golf courses throughout Walt Disney World, and there’s a sand volleyball court near the Tidal Pool, with equipment available to collect from Ship Shape Health Club. There are also illuminated tennis and pickleball courts.

Hire boats from the Disney’s Beach Club Resort marina or take a fishing excursion on Crescent Lake.

Walt Disney World has taken a significant step towards sustainability by eliminating single-use plastic straws and stirrers across its premises and working towards a goal of zero waste to landfill by 2030. Organic waste generated at Walt Disney World is sent to an off-site composting facility to be turned into nutrient-rich soil, which can be used to fertilise plants.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort makes family holidays to Walt Disney World simple. EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios are within walking distance, and a regular bus service picks you up outside the hotel to whisk you to the Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

There isn’t a children’s club. Time here is spent together as a family, whether splashing around in Stormalong Bay, relaxing around a campfire, or watching Movies Under the Stars after dusk.

It’s useful to know there’s a 24-hour self-service laundry available, or valet laundry services and dry cleaning, if you prefer.

Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed for routine maintenance from January 2025 to May 2025.

Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours.

During this time, Guests are welcome to swim at the Tidal, Admiral and Dunes Cove pools.

I stayed at every single Disney World resort and ranked them from worst to best

After visiting Disney World for over 30 years with an annual pass, I've visited every resort .

My least favorites are the value All-Star resorts and Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa.

But I love staying at Disney's Wilderness Lodge and the Polynesian Village Resort.

Disney's three All-Star Resorts are a steal, but they don't come with as many perks.

Average room rate: $100 to $200

Level: Value

Comprised of three motel-style resorts themed to music, sports, and movies, the All-Star properties are Disney World's most budget-friendly option.

But they're located out of the way from most of the theme parks, only offer one mode of transportation (buses), and only have one food court for dining . I think my dollar could go a lot further off Disney property.

If you end up staying here, I recommend All-Star Movies because of its recently renovated rooms.

Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa feels a bit dated.

Average room rate: $450 to $800

Level: Deluxe

Inspired by its namesake New York town, this Victorian-style resort embraces the equestrian theme throughout its sprawling property.

Its sheer size leads to a number of issues, like packed pools and crowded bus transportation to parks. Plus, the older property feels a bit dated, and there's no guarantee that you'll be housed in one of the newly remodeled rooms.

For a deluxe-level resort, it lacks any standout dining options, and it's a bit far from the parks. But it does come with the perk of being able to walk to Disney Springs.

There are two resorts within Disney's Port Orleans, but I have qualms with the food options.

Average room rate: $300 to $400

Level: Moderate

Disney's Port Orleans is made up of two adjoining resorts — Riverside and French Quarter — which embrace the charm of the Louisiana bayou and the liveliness of New Orleans .

Although there's beauty to be found on the cobblestone-laden grounds of the family-friendly resort, the moderate-level property is lacking in some key areas.

Given the Cajun and Creole influences, I feel like Disney missed the mark entirely with the themed dining. The bus-only transportation system to the parks also proves to be a major headache as the two resorts often share buses.

Disney's Coronado Springs Resort and Gran Destino Tower feels like a convention center — because it is.

Average room rate: $300 t0 $400

Disney's Coronado Springs embraces Spanish and Mexican influences in its design, but it's not enough to make you forget that this is a functioning convention center.

Given its size, you could easily clock in a mile before ever setting foot in a theme park — especially if you're interested in walking over to the pool that features a replica 50-foot Mayan pyramid.

The saving grace is the newest addition, Gran Destino Tower, which carries a more upscale feel complete with a rooftop lounge and stunning views.

The buses can be a headache at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort.

Sandy beaches and vibrant colors may draw you to the impeccably themed Caribbean Beach Resort but be warned: The massive property consists of six island-themed villages, and you have to rely on an internal bus system to get around.

If you don't mind the size, you can relax at a number of the island-inspired dining options and pools, and you can take advantage of riding the Disney Skyliner to Epcot and Hollywood Studios .

If I am staying here, the pirate-themed rooms are an absolute must.

Disney's Yacht and Beach Club resorts are convenient if you love Epcot, but they're pricey.

Average room rate: $600 to $800

You can choose between beachside vibes or nautical sophistication at Disney's adjacent deluxe resorts, Yacht Club and Beach Club .

The two share most amenities, meaning the big sand-bottom pool — which has a popular slide going through a life-sized shipwreck — can get packed.

For the price, I find the atmosphere to be a bit too polished, and given the number of guests, on-site dining is always in great demand.

There's a walking path to the BoardWalk, Epcot , and Hollywood Studios, but I'm not sure the location can even justify the price.

Disney's Art of Animation doesn't feel like a value resort.

Average room rate: $300 for standard rooms and $600 for family suites

At Disney's Art of Animation , immersive theming brings movies to life via large-scale depictions of your favorite Disney characters.

In addition to standard rooms, the property offers the largest number of themed family suites.

For a value price tag, it also packs quite a punch in the amenities department, as it's home to the largest pool in Disney World.

The dining options are limited to a basic food court, but it's located next to a Skyliner station that can quickly whisk you to the Boardwalk, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios.

Disney's Contemporary Resort is extremely convenient, but it could use some updates.

Average room rate: $650 to $800

Disney's Contemporary Resort is perhaps the most recognizable on the property thanks to its unique A-frame shape, which allows the monorail to soar right through the lobby.

It's a family favorite for those who spend the bulk of their time at Magic Kingdom, which is just a short walk away.

The overall look could use a refresh. There are no distinct design elements aside from a 90-foot mural by Disney legend Mary Blair, the visionary behind classic attractions like It's a Small World.

Among smaller quick-service locations and lounges, the Contemporary is home to Chef Mickey's character-dining experience, the new Steakhouse 71 restaurant and lounge , and California Grill — a rooftop restaurant known for its standout sushi and floor-to-ceiling views of Magic Kingdom's fireworks.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is certainly a unique experience.

Average room rate: $500 to $700

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is the most unique resort with safari-lodge vibes and its own savanna home to over 200 animals.

The inspiration can be found throughout the resort through its collection of African art.

It's worth a visit for some of Disney World's most celebrated dining locations as well as the resort-exclusive zebra domes — a fan-favorite dessert filled with white chocolate and mousse.

Serviced only by the bus system, the location is the resort's only negative if you're looking to explore parks beyond Animal Kingdom .

There's something to be said for the luxury of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort.

Average room rate: $900 to $1,000

Setting the scene with a live pianist in the lobby, the theme and mood of the Grand Floridian exude utter class.

It's ideal for families with young kids as it provides easy access to Magic Kingdom via the monorail, boats, or a walking path.

I enjoy the libations at the "Beauty and the Beast"-themed cocktail bar (Enchanted Rose) and the refined dinner at its newly revamped "Mary Poppins Returns"-themed restaurant (Cítricos).

I love visiting the resort during the holidays because of the impressive Christmas display, including a life-size gingerbread house and stunning tree.

Disney's BoardWalk Inn has a lot to offer.

Average room rate: $700 to $900

Disney's BoardWalk Inn is a resort and an entertainment destination outfitted with bus and boat service, the Skyliner, and a walking path.

It's home to several worthy dining options, and you can make an entire evening out of exploring the turn-of-the-century Atlantic City-inspired boardwalk, with its carnival games, snack stands, and dance hall.

It's close to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, and it's also home to a popular carousel-themed pool, a magician-inspired lounge, and an Italian restaurant with house-made pasta.

If you can't swing the steep price, you can just make time to walk the boardwalk during your visit.

I love the theme of Disney's Old Key West Resort.

You'll swear there's a warm ocean breeze blowing your way in landlocked Orlando when you visit the homey Old Key West Resort .

Well-executed theming, tranquil walking paths, and a standout pool help this resort stand out.

At Olivia's Cafe, you'll even spy a photo wall of families who return to stay year after year. I'm also a fan of the laid-back vibes at Gurgling Suitcase Libations, which serves the resort's signature Turtle Krawl cocktail.

But for being a deluxe resort, it lacks a proper bar and restaurant.

It's hard to beat the price and experience at Disney's Pop Century Resort.

Average room rate: $200 to $300

What Disney's Pop Century Resort lacks in dining options it makes up for in location, pricing, and theming.

The resort features larger-than-life statues depicting pop-culture icons of the 1950s to 1990s all around, and its newly remodeled rooms have quickly become a favorite of mine. And I can never pass up the resort exclusive tie-dye cheesecake available in the food court.

The nearby Skyliner station makes traveling to Epcot and Hollywood Studios a breeze. Plus, there are multiple pools.

There's a ton of value to be found here considering it's a budget property.

The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort is my ideal version of camping.

Average room rate: $600 to $700

The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort is where camping meets modern amenities.

The internal bus system can be complicated, but there's no need to deal with it when you can cruise around on your own private golf cart.

Special touches, like campfire sing-a-longs and movies under the stars make this a favorite. This is also the home of Tri-Circle-D Ranch which allows guests to meet the horses who appear with characters around the theme parks.

Interesting on-site dining options, like one of the longest-running dinner shows, The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, make this the total package.

Disney's Riviera Resort is the newest on the property, and it shows.

Level:  Deluxe

Disney World's newest resort is an opulent Mediterranean-themed property inspired by Walt Disney's own travels around Europe.

The Riviera Resort offers a prime location with quick access to Hollywood Studios and Epcot aboard the Skyliner and the other parks via buses.

It has some of the best dining at Disney World. I love savoring casual bites from the poolside Bar Riva and the can't-miss rooftop views from Topolino's Terrace Flavors of the Riviera.

Le Petit Café, inspired by "The Aristocats," also serves the best coffee on the property in a cozy lounge adorned with images from Walt's travels.

Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resort is one of the best deals.

Although Marriott's Swan & Dolphin Resorts are not operated by Disney, they've been official on-property resorts since opening in 1990.

Ideally located between Epcot and Hollywood Studios, the two resorts are adjoined by an incredible tropical oasis, complete with a 3-acre grotto pool, slide, and lively pool bar.

On-site dining is plentiful, including celebrity ventures from Todd English, chain spots like Shula's Steakhouse and Trattoria Il Mulino, and even a karaoke bar.

I consider this an absolute steal as it's priced similarly to moderate-level resorts while offering the level of amenities and services expected from a deluxe.

I can't get over the theming at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.

Disney's Wilderness Lodge is an awe-inducing property modeled after the US' national-park lodges . The result is Walt Disney World theming at its best, with an incredibly spacious main lobby complete with an 80-foot, Grand Canyon-inspired stone fireplace.

The exterior is equally impressive featuring grand mountains, waterfalls, and one of the best pools in Disney World.

It has several sought-after dining options. Territory Lounge is a perfect way to cozy up after a long park day thanks to its rustic vibes and extensive list of Pacific Northwest wines.

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is my all-time favorite place to stay.

Average room rate: $800 to $1,000

I reach peak vacation mode every time I set foot in Disney's Polynesian Village Resort .

Dating back to Disney World's opening in 1971, the resort exudes paradise through tropical-inspired décor, ambiance, and dining.

In addition to newly renovated rooms, you also have a vast number of transportation options, including the monorail, boats, walking paths, and buses.

I love sipping on a tropical cocktail from Trader Sam's Grog Grotto on the sandy beaches of the Seven Seas Lagoon while watching Magic Kingdom's fireworks just across the water.

You'll also find some cult-favorite Disney foods, like Dole Whip and Tonga Toast.
