Is a Crew Member About to Get Kicked off 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht'?

Updated June 5 2020, 1:08 p.m. ET

After the absolute dumpster fire that was last season’s Below Deck, Below Deck Sailing Yacht has been relatively smooth sailing—even idyllic, for a Bravo show.

However, the new spinoff sailing series has just entered the midseason mark, which is when the drama usually tends to heat up with the cast swapping make-out buddies, losing their tempers with each other and generally being all-around messes.

In the teasers for the second half of the season, audiences were tantalized to see the possibility of a threesome brewing between Paget, Ciara and Georgia, and, of course, more ongoing drama between the most annoying couple on the boat, Adam and Jenna .

But what really caught a lot of people’s attention in the teasers was when Captain Shephard said to Jenna, “I would be very surprised if somebody few to Corfu with cocaine.”

Naturally, audiences are clamoring to figure out just who got caught with cocaine in their bag and whether that’s the end of their professional sailing career. Fans of the show will also remember the infamous drug incident from Below Deck’ s premiere episode, and the show’s no-nonsense policy when it comes to illegal substances on-board.

Keep reading while we dig into Below Deck 's cocaine scandals.

Which crew member on 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' got caught with with a stash of cocaine?

In the teaser scenes for Below Deck Sailing ’s March 30 episode, fans saw Captain Glenn confiding in Jenna, saying that he would be surprised if someone flew to Corfu with cocaine.

But in the next scene we see Captain Glenn rummaging through someone’s bag asking, “Is there anything in here that you don’t want me to find? What’s in here?” The captain ominously also adds that, “there might be a change of personnel.”

Although we don’t know exactly who the alleged drugs belong to, we do know that having illegal substances onboard is an extremely serious offense. If it turns out that Captain Glenn does find cocaine among any of the crew’s belongings, it’s safe to assume that they will be immediately fired and replaced on the boat.

What happened the last time someone found cocaine on the show?

Fans may recall the epic drug bust in the very first episode of Below Deck ’s Season 1 when stewardess Kat Held found a bag of white powder and a rolled-up dollar bill in a guest’s cabin. After Captain Lee was informed, he immediately turned his boat around to head to the dock, without even informing the charter guests until they were asked to leave the boat mid-charter .

Not only did the incident cement the no-nonsense tone of Captain’s Lee’s managing style with his crew and guests alike, it was also extremely entertaining television to watch a spoiled, rich charter guest like Johnny Eyelash (yes, that was his name) not realize what exactly was happening until he was unceremoniously kicked off the boat mid-charter.

"It was a tough situation to be in. On the one hand, we want clients to be happy. On the other hand, I don't want my boat to get boarded by the Coast Guard, and I don't want to go to jail for 25 years," Captain Lee said in his book, Running Against the Tide . "I made the decision to kick them off the boat.”

We can’t wait to see the rest of this season’s drama unfold on the Parsifal III. Tune in to Below Deck Sailing Yacht on Mondays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.

'Below Deck' Finale: Glenn's drug search goes awry, fans say Billy hid his stash and should have been tested

Bravo's 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' returned this week with its finale episode and it was explosive to say the least. It began with a drug investigation and ended with heartbreaks and goodbyes.

Previously, Captain Glenn Shephard was informed by his crew members — Jenna MacGillivray and Chris Miller — that they had spotted white powder under Billy's (one of the charter guests) nose. Based on their observations, Glenn had a chat with the guests and expressed an interest in searching their belongings, to which Billy readily agreed while he said: "I have got nothing to hide bro." Glenn rummaged through his luggage as Madison Stalker watched. It was already a stressful situation, which got out of hand when Glenn didn't find drugs on Billy. It put off Billy and his friends on vacation. Minutes later, Billy walked up to Glenn and confronted him for conducting the search. He made it a point to let Glenn know that he was offended.

Sure, it's humiliating to be accused of something one hasn't done but Glenn's hands are pretty tied here because that's the protocol — any suspicion would lead to a search. And being caught in possession of drugs on the boat have serious legal implications. The yacht could be confiscated and Glenn could lose his license. So, there was a lot at stake and it would only be foolish of Glenn if he ignored Jenna and Chris' accounts.

Meanwhile, fans think Glenn didn't find drugs on Billy because he had already snorted all of it or hid it somewhere it couldn't be found. "I think he already snorted them so Glenn would only find out if he did a drug test," a fan commented. Another shared: "We know damn well that they hid those drugs elsewhere. They wouldn’t stash them in luggage since interior goes in. They were put somewhere in that room though. That guest was snorting something at dinner the night prior. He lyin!! #BelowDeckSailing."

One more said, "For someone who’s claiming not to have drugs on board, Billy is acting a lot like someone who may have drugs on board #BelowDeckSailing #BelowDeckSailingYacht," a viewer expressed. "The captain may not have found any drugs, but that doesn’t mean the dude wasn’t using. His behavior speaks for itself.#BelowDeckSailing." Another user tweeted, "Billy claiming he's so offended and has no drugs on board... BECAUSE HE SNORTED THEM ALL #belowdecksailing."

Former ‘Below Deck’ Charter Guests Hit Choppy Waters As They Are Charged With Identity Theft In Prescription Drug Scheme

Where to stream:, ‘the anonymous’ exclusive clip: dani shocks the players with a new twist, ‘rhoc’: shannon beador allegedly almost ran over her ex-boyfriend’s daughter the night of her dui, ‘rhoc’ star tamra judge admits she’s a “problem” when she drinks: “i just say whatever i feel like saying”, tamra judge predicts tom sandoval will get eliminated from ‘the traitors’ season 3 “really quick”.

Rough seas lie ahead for one couple who previously appeared as charter guests on Below Deck , as the duo was recently charged with criminal sale of a prescription for a controlled substance and falsifying business records.

Dr. Francis Martinis, a urologist, and his wife, Jessica Martinis — who appeared in Below Deck Mediterranean in 2019 and Below Deck Sailing Yacht the following year — were indicted on Thursday (Dec. 14) for allegedly using the names of former Below Deck cast members to obtain prescription drugs like oxycodone.

According to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office , red flags were first raised in January 2023 when Jessica allegedly attempted to fill a handwritten prescription for the opioid, issued by her husband. Prosecutors claim that her name was not listed as the patient and since most prescriptions are transmitted electronically, the pharmacist refused to fill it and instead called the police department, which resulted in an investigation.

What they learned from the investigation was that Francis had allegedly electronically transmitted a number of prescriptions for oxycodone to pharmacies throughout Suffolk County using the names of former Below Deck yachties — none of whom lived in Long Island — and Jessica would then pick them up and pay in cash. Prosecutors allege that the prescriptions were never “intended for or received by the purported patients.”

As a result, the couple was arraigned and charged with four counts of criminal sale of prescription for a controlled substance by a practitioner — which are Class C felonies — and four counts of falsifying business records in the first degree — which are Class E felonies.

“By working with our law enforcement partners and the community, we identified two individuals who brazenly diverted controlled substances intended for medicinal purposes to the illegal drug market,” Frank Tarentino, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent in Charge, alleged in a release . “These arrests are a reminder that a doctor’s illicit drug diversion can lead to irreparable harm like the drug overdoses and poisonings currently plaguing our nation.”

The Martinis have pleaded not guilty, with their attorney calling the charges “bogus” and telling Entertainment Weekly that they “look forward to their day in court to clear their names.”

‘Below Deck’ guests facing sea of legal trouble in prescription drug plot, authorities say

A doctor who appeared on a hit Bravo reality show was arrested on Long Island — accused of stealing the identities of cast members of the show in a scheme to obtain prescription drugs, according to law enforcement officials.

Dr. Francis Martinis — a urologist in Fort Salonga — and his wife, Jessica Martinis, who both appeared on the Bravo reality-show franchise “Below Deck,” are accused of allegedly using the personal information of other cast members to write bogus prescriptions for oxycodone.

Investigators said the scheme started to unfold earlier this year, when Jessica Martinis went to a pharmacy in Kings Park in an attempt to fill a bogus oxycodone prescription in January. According to those officials, the handwritten prescription raised concerns, prompting a pharmacist to call police.

A subsequent investigation revealed that the doctor had sent dozens of prescriptions for oxycodone to Suffolk County pharmacies over a two-year period, law enforcement officials said. Many of these prescriptions were allegedly fake — written under the names of two “Below Deck” cast members.

Investigators said that Jessica Martinis would pick up the prescriptions and pay in cash as part of the alleged plot.

The duo was arrested in May and charged with eight counts of criminal sale of controlled substance and falsifying business records, law enforcement officials said.

Investigators are not revealing whether they believe the couple was using or reselling the drugs, or both.

Former New York Homeland Security Director Michael Balboni said the allegations are serious, especially amid an ongoing national addiction and overdose crisis.

“He abused the celebrity position that he had on that ship to take the identities of his crew members — if that is proven — and then use that to buy drugs,” Balboni said. “That is a common scheme for a common criminal.”

The pair were among the guests who chartered Sirocco, a luxury yacht that set sail on the French Riviera in 2019 and had part of their trip documented for “Below Deck Mediterranean.” The doctor was a guest once again the following year, this time on another “Below Deck” spinoff, “Below Deck Sailing Yacht.” The series documented life on a 180-foot sailboat that cruised the Ionian Sea.

Following their appearances in the franchise, the doctor-and-wife duo attended promotional events with other crew members.

Peter A. Crusco, the attorney representing the couple, said his clients pleaded not guilty.  "The evidence will show the charges are bogus and cannot be substantiated," he said.

Bravo, which is owned by NBCUniversal, the parent company of NBC News, did not respond to a request for comment.

Below Deck Guests Arrested for Drug Scheme, Accused of Using Cast Members’ Names on Fake Prescriptions, Details Revealed

Authorities Claim Two Below Deck Med Charter Guests Were Arrested for Scheme Involving Bogus Opioid Prescriptions, Falsely Used Names of Two Other Castmembers

Authorities claim two Below Deck Mediterranean   guests were arrested for plotting an opioid scheme – involving bogus prescriptions from a doctor who also appeared on  Below Deck Sailing Yacht .

The urologist and his wife falsely used two other Below Deck cast members’ names while writing the prescriptions, said investigators.

According to officials in law enforcement, via nbcnewyork.com , Fort Salonga urologist  Dr. Francis Martinis  got arrested in Long Island. He was accused of stealing the cast members’ identities in a plot to get prescription drugs.

Officials accused Francis and his wife Jessica of writing fake prescriptions to obtain oxycodone, using the other cast members’ personal info.

Per the investigators, their plot began when the doctor’s wife tried to fill the fake prescription for oxycodone at a Kings Park pharmacy in January 2023 – and the pharmacist called the police after getting concerned about the handwritten prescription.

This prompted an investigation that showed that the urologist was sending oxycodone illegally to pharmacies in Suffolk County for two years, said officials. Many of the prescriptions allegedly were falsified, and the names of two Below Deck stars were used to write them up.

Officials claimed Jessica paid for the prescriptions in cash as she picked up the drugs.

“Doctors are supposed to be trusted members of the community and with that trust comes a tremendous amount of personal and professional responsibility,” said Raymond Tierney , the Suffolk County District Attorney. “Physicians are held to a high standard, as they take an oath to uphold a number of professional ethical standards when they begin their careers. The conduct Dr. Martinis allegedly engaged in with his wife not only violated this oath, but it also violated the law.”

Officials told the outlet that the couple, arrested in May, was charged with eight counts of falsifying business records and the criminal sale of a controlled substance.

“He abused the celebrity position that he had on that ship to take the identities of his crew members — if that is proven — and then use that to buy drugs,” said Michael Balboni , former New York Homeland Security Director, “that is a common scheme for a common criminal.”

The couple first appeared on Below Deck Mediterranean in 2019 on the French Riviera. A year later, the urologist also filmed as a guest for Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

But according to the couple’s lawyer Peter Crusco , they pleaded not guilty, and “evidence will show the charges are bogus and cannot be substantiated.”

“The DEA is rooted in an ‘all hands on deck’ approach to save lives from illegal drug misuse and abuse through enforcement, education, and prevention,” stated Frank Tarentino , the DEA Special Agent in Charge. “We identified two individuals who brazenly diverted controlled substances intended for medicinal purposes to the illegal drug market. These arrests are a reminder that a doctor’s illicit drug diversion can lead to irreparable harm like the drug overdoses and poisonings currently plaguing our nation.”

The couple was scheduled to go to court on Thursday.

“Prosecutors will want to send a message to all other physicians — you have special access to these drugs, you know how they work and if you do this you will be prosecuted,” said Balboni.

Captain Glenn Shephard Addresses That "Drug Bust" Teased on Below Deck Sailing Yacht

"Any suspicion of drugs on board is a very serious thing that obviously has to be investigated," Captain Glenn Shephard said.

below deck sailing yacht drug bust

This season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht is about to get even crazier, if you can believe it. In a sneak peek of what's to come later on this season released in March, Captain Glenn Shephard can be seen telling chief stew Jenna MacGillivray , "I would be very surprised if someone flew to Corfu with cocaine."

How to Watch

Watch Below Deck Sailing Yacht on Peacock and the Bravo app .

The next thing we see is the captain looking through someone's bag. "Is there anything you don't want me to find?" Captain Glenn says in the clip. "What's in here?"

Of course, we all want to know what's about to go down on Below Deck Sailing Yacht . Apparently, the moment is so good, Captain Glenn doesn't want to spoil it.

When asked for a tease of what appears to be a "drug bust" coming up later this season during his April 13 appearance on the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen: @ Home After Show , Captain Glenn replied, "All I can say is tune in and see what happens."

However, Captain Glenn did explain why it's so important to act immediately if the crew has any reason to believe there are illegal substances on board. "Any suspicion of drugs on board is a very serious thing that obviously has to be investigated," he said (clip above). "I could lose my license. The boat could be confiscated. I could go to jail. It's a very serious thing, so yeah, you have to take it seriously."

Captain Lee Rosbach Wishes Cameras Didn't Capture This Below Deck Moment

Captain Lee Rosbach found himself in a similar situation when the crew discovered a substance they suspected to be cocaine in the charter guests' possession after they boarded the Honor in the very first episode of Below Deck ever back in Season 1. The Below Deck boss had no choice but to end the charter early and have the guests disembark the yacht .

"It was a tough situation to be in. On the one hand, we want clients to be happy. On the other hand, I don't want my boat to get boarded by the Coast Guard, and I don't want to go to jail for 25 years," Captain Lee wrote of the experience in his book Running Against the Tide: True Tales from the Stud of the Sea . "I made the decision to kick them off the boat."

What we didn't see during the episode was that Captain Lee also assigned a crew member to make sure the charter guests didn't hide anything on board as they packed all of their stuff up.

"After they'd left, I then told the crew to take the boat apart. I didn't want any hidden stashes left on my boat. If I found any powder I couldn't account for, it was going over the side," Captain Lee recalled. "It was a hell of a lot of work, we didn't find anything, and we lost some clients, but it was more than worth it to get that kind of garbage off my boat."

We'll have to wait and see what drama is coming up for Captain Glenn and the rest of the Parsifal III crew as this season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht continues Mondays at 9/8c. Watch a sneak peek, below.

Below Deck charter guests accused of stealing cast members' identities as part of opioid scheme

Urologist Francis Martinis and wife Jessica are in troubled legal waters.

Jessica is a staff writer at Entertainment Weekly, where she covers TV, movies, and pop culture. Her work has appeared in Bustle, NYLON, Cosmopolitan, InStyle, and more. She lives in California with her dog.

A couple who appeared as charter guests on episodes of the hit Bravo reality franchise Below Deck are setting sail for court after being indicted on allegations of falsely using the names of cast members in a scheme to obtain prescription drugs.

Dr. Francis Martinis, a urologist in Fort Salonga, N.Y., and his wife, Jessica Martinis, were charged with criminal sale of a prescription for a controlled substance and falsifying business records in Suffolk County on Thursday, the district attorney's office announced .

Prosecutors allege that Francis, 55, electronically transmitted numerous prescriptions for oxycodone to pharmacies under the names of former Below Deck cast members, and that Jessica, 38, would pick up the prescriptions and pay with cash. But the prescriptions were never intended for the purported patients — none of whom resided on Long Island — identified on the orders, prosecutors say.

Fred Jagueneau/Bravo

The DA's office said the scheme came to light in January after Jessica tried to fill a hand-written prescription for oxycodone issued by her husband, when prescriptions are often issued electronically. When the pharmacist noticed she was not the patient listed, they contacted the Suffolk County Police Department.

The Martinises pleaded not guilty and are currently on supervised release. They're scheduled to be back in court Jan. 25.

"Doctors are supposed to be trusted members of the community," Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney said in a statement. "Physicians are held to a high standard, as they take an oath to uphold a number of professional ethical standards when they begin their careers. The conduct Dr. Martinis allegedly engaged in with his wife not only violated this oath, but it also violated the law."

Peter Crusco, an attorney for the couple, called the charges "bogus" when reached for comment by EW, adding that his clients "look forward to their day in court to clear their names."

Bravo declined to comment.

The Below Deck shows follow the interior and deck crews of luxury ships and the affluent passengers they cater to during a charter season. The Martinises appeared on the spinoff Below Deck Mediterranean , and Francis also returned on Below Deck Sailing Yacht .

Below Deck Guests Accused of Involvement in Prescription Drug Plot

Everyone knows that the guests on Below Deck are needy, entitled, and difficult to impress. But who would have thought there would be alleged criminals in our midst?

The Messenger recently reported that two Below Deck guests were arrested for their supposed role in a prescription drug scheme. Allegedly, they used some of the Below Deck crew as a part of their plot.

They’re getting ready to appear in court, but the scheme they’re accused of trying to pull is just as obnoxious as a Below Deck preference sheet. Here are all of the details.

From Below Deck to behind bars

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Francis Martinis MD (@drfrankmartinis)

Dr. Francis Martinis, a urologist, and his wife, Jessica, appeared on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 4 and Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 1. According to court records, they stole some of the crew’s personal information and used it to write fake oxycodone prescriptions.

The two geniuses got busted when Jessica brought in a handwritten prescription to a pharmacy. The pharmacist knew it looked suspicious, so they called the cops.

Once the cops started investigating the couple, they learned that this behavior had been going on for two years. For two whole years, Jessica was going into pharmacies and paying cash for oxycodone prescriptions written out to Below Deck cast members. Maybe the one pharmacist who finally caught on was a Bravo watcher.

The doctor and his wife were both charged with eight counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance and falsifying business records. Of course, they’re pleading not guilty. Their lawyer is confident that they’ll be proven innocent once they have their day in court.

“My clients have pled not guilty and are presumed innocent and look forward to their day in Court to clear their names,” the couple’s lawyer claimed. “The evidence will show the charges are bogus and cannot be substantiated.”

We’ll be keeping our eye out for updates on this messy Below Deck couple. But, it’s probably safe to say we won’t be seeing them in any future seasons.

Billy on Below Deck Sailing Yacht: Fans share theories on why Captain Glenn’s drug search of guest’s cabin was a bust

Billy on below deck Sailing Yacht was accused of having drugs on yacht.

Billy on Below Deck Sailing Yacht was accused of having illegal drugs onboard the Parsifal III, but Captain Glenn Shephard’s search came up with nothing.

Fans immediately flooded social media with theories on the hot topic after the season finale of the Bravo show.

Billy agreed to the cabin search but was arrogant and rude while  Captain Glenn was riffing through his things . Later, Billy let the captain know how angry he was that a search had been conducted in the first place. He even said that it had ruined his luxury vacation.

Why did Captain Glenn not find any drugs?

There are a couple of fan theories floating around Twitter regarding why there were no drugs in Billy’s cabin.

One is that he honestly never had any illegal substance on Parsifal III. Billy did admit he was extremely drunk on the night Jenna and Chris began to question whether he was on drugs.

Another theory is that Billy had used all of his drugs the day before, and that’s why the search turned up nothing.

Twitter agrees that the result was lackluster after all the buildup. A majority of viewers thought that Billy did have drugs, but the resolution of the situation was boring at best, especially for a season finale.

so, last episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht review: not a huge fan of the lack of resolution with the guy who 10000000000% was doing cocaine on the boat however the season was fantastic. I learned to like (pretty much) the entire crew in different ways. 10/10 recommend. ??‍♂️ — Ethan Jeremiah (@ethanjeremiahh) May 26, 2020

Did Jenna lie about seeing Billy on drugs?

There is no question Below Deck Sailing Yacht viewers have had it out for Jenna all season. Her romance with chef Adam Glick enraged fans, and the chief stew has even been bullied online.

One Twitter user accused Jenna of lying about what she saw to take Captain Glenn’s focus off of her and Adam. It is quite the claim, but a few users think it’s true.

After all, the good captain literally had it out with Jenna over her romance hours earlier and she was beyond disrespectful to Captain Glenn.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht I’m convinced the reason Jenna lied about seeing white powder on the guest was to take Glen’s attention off of her and Adam. Chris saw it. She lied to make sure Glen took it seriously & lost sight of her shortcomings. — dmd (@Dmd0718Donna) May 26, 2020

Fans will probably never know for sure if Billy on Below Deck Sailing Yacht brought drugs onto Parsifal III- just because Captain Glenn Shephard didn’t find drugs doesn’t mean they weren’t there at some point.

The finale and drug search will certainly be a topic at the Below Deck Sailing Yacht reunion . Perhaps fans will get more insight after the cast shares their side of the story.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht reunion will air on Monday, June 1 at 8/7c on Bravo.

'below deck' charter guests arrested in drug scheme, below deck charter guests arrested allegedly filled prescriptions using cast members' names.

Francis Martinis and his wife, Jessica featured on below deck

A couple who appeared on the reality show "Below Deck" are now in some serious legal trouble ... after prosecutors claim they engaged in a prescription drug scheme involving using the names of cast members from the show.

Dr. Francis Martinis and his wife, Jessica -- who appeared as chartered guests on an episode of "Below Deck Mediterranean" and "Below Deck Sailing Yacht" -- were indicted in a Long Island court on Thursday, accused of using the names of the Bravo show's cast members to fill out prescriptions for opioids throughout Suffolk County.

According to the Suffolk County District Attorney, Francis and Jessica Martinis have been charged with 4 felony counts of criminal sale of a prescription for a controlled substance by a practitioner -- and 4 felony counts of falsifying business records.

Authorities say they were notified of the alleged scheme back in January ... after Jess allegedly attempted to fill a hand-written prescription for oxycodone at a Long Island pharmacy -- though her name was not the one on the prescription.

Prosecutors say instead of filling the prescription, the pharmacist called the police ... which then kickstarted an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

And now authorities say they discovered the Martinis electronically transmitted multiple prescriptions to pharmacies across Long Island ... under the name of different former BD cast members despite none living in the vicinity.

The Martinis' &

It's claimed that Jessica would pick up the prescriptions and pay for them with cash.

The DA blasted the couple ... saying in a statement that their alleged actions violated the oath they took at the start of their careers and the law.

The judge set bail conditions, and the couple is due back in court in January.

The Below Deck Sailing Yacht Crew Faces Romantic Strife & a Drug Bust in Midseason Tease

Below deck sailing yacht faces choppy waters as a love triangle, breakup and drug bust is all teased in an all-new midseason promo.

There are choppy waters ahead for the Below Deck Sailing Yacht crew.

As seen in the exclusive midseason tease above, the drama has only just started for Captain Glenn Shephard and his Parsifal III team. We're talking love triangles, breakups and a potential drug bust.

Yep, you read that correctly.

For starters, Chief Stewardess Jenna MacGillivray lays into Madison Stalker as she feels she's "carrying" the 2nd stewardess, as well as, Georgia Grobler . Ironically, Madison doesn't think Jenna's being all that professional.

Why? Per Madison, Jenna's too busy chasing a romance with chef Adam Glick .

"I get it! You want to suck Adam's d--k," Madison snaps in a confessional. "But also, like be professional."

(Spoiler: Adam is seen telling Jenna "it's over" later in the teaser. Man, oh man.)

This isn't the only issue Madison has—who is accused of creating drama—as she complains about being surrounded by couples. Yet, is yachtie couple Paget Berry and Ciara Duggan at risk of splitting up?

In the just released footage, Ciara and Paget are seen flirting with Georgia. "We'll see you later," Ciara even mouths to Georgia.

During this flirtation, Georgia ponders if she's "agreeing to a threesome." This romantic situation may not turn out well, since Georgia later seemingly declares her feelings for Paget.

"I'm very glad to have met you," she admits to Paget. "You mean a lot more to me than I think you realize."

After Captain Glenn stops the Parsifal III from fully capsizing, he then is forced to oversee a potential drug bust.

"I would be very surprised if somebody flew to Corfu with cocaine," Captain Glenn confides in Jenna.

Regardless, he is then seen rummaging through bags and inquiring about contraband items. He even goes as far as to threaten a personnel change.

For all of this drama and more, be sure to watch the Below Deck Sailing Yacht midseason tease above.

New York doctor, wife who appeared on "Below Deck" charged with fake opioid prescription scheme

Updated on: December 14, 2023 / 9:37 PM EST / AP

NEW YORK — A doctor and his wife who appeared on the Bravo reality series "Below Deck" were arraigned in New York on Thursday on charges that they filled out bogus opioid prescriptions using the names of cast members from the show.

Urologist Francis Martinis and his wife, Jessica Martinis, of Fort Salonga, New York, were each charged with criminal sale of a prescription for a controlled substance by a practitioner and falsifying business records.

They appeared in state court in Riverhead on Long Island after first being arrested in May. Both pleaded not guilty, according to their attorney. The couple were released without bail and are due back in court Jan. 25.

"Below Deck," which premiered on Bravo in 2013, follows crew members and the passengers they cater to aboard a luxury yacht.

The Martinises appeared on the spinoff "Below Deck Mediterranean" in 2019. Francis Martinis also appeared on "Below Deck Sailing Yacht" the following year.

The couple's attorney, Peter Crusco, called the charges bogus.

"My clients have pled not guilty and are presumed innocent, and look forward to their day in court to clear their names," Crusco said in a text message.

Prosecutors said Francis Martinis, 55, transmitted prescriptions for oxycodone to Long Island pharmacies with the names of "Below Deck" cast members listed as the purported patients. Jessica Martinis, 38, then picked up the drugs and paid in cash, prosecutors said.

Jessica Martinis first raised red flags in January 2023 when she tried to fill a handwritten prescription for oxycodone in someone else's name, prosecutors said.

An investigation turned up evidence of numerous fake oxycodone prescriptions that Francis Martinis had written with the names of cast members from the reality show, authorities said.

None of the oxycodone was actually intended for the people named in the prescriptions, prosecutors said.

"Physicians are held to a high standard, as they take an oath to uphold a number of professional ethical standards when they begin their careers," Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney said in a statement. "The conduct Dr. Martinis allegedly engaged in with his wife not only violated this oath, but it also violated the law."

Frank Tarentino, the federal Drug Enforcement Agency's special agent in charge for New York, said, "These arrests are a reminder that a doctor's illicit drug diversion can lead to irreparable harm like the drug overdoses and poisonings currently plaguing our nation."

A representative for NBCUniversal, Bravo's parent company, declined to comment.

‘Below Deck’ Sailing Yacht Shares Chilling Link To Sunken Morgan Stanley Billionaire’s Boat ‘Bayesian’

The plot thickens...

‘Below Deck’ Sailing Yacht Shares Chilling Link To Sunken Morgan Stanley Billionaire’s Boat ‘Bayesian’

Much has been made of the tragic events that unfolded earlier this week off the Sicilian coast, with the Morgan Stanley international chairman initially missing before being found dead alongside tech founder Mike Lynch. Adding more intrigue to the tale, a strange link between the sunk Bayesian yacht and hit show Below Deck has been uncovered…

The Italian shipyard Perini Navi, which built the PARSIFAL III — the yacht featured in the popular reality show Below Deck that rammed a pier due to an engine malfunction — is also the maker of the Bayesian , which tragically sank on August 19.

PARSIFAL III Misadventure

Below Deck is an American reality TV series that made its debut in 2013 on Bravo TV . The show, to date, is running on season 11, with a new cast of crews on every luxury superyacht during its chartering season. Their challenges while catering to wealthy guests are depicted on the show. The PARSIFAL III , a 177-foot yacht, suffered a big mishap during an episode of the show’s second Sailing Yacht season which first aired on May 17, 2021.

While trying to maneuver in bad weather, the yacht hit a dock because its engine broke down. In an explanation, Yacht’s Captain Glenn Shephard said:

“I was using a different maneuver mode. And there’s a computer in between the throttles and the propeller that adjusts the load on the engine. Maybe my inputs were too much for the computer and it kind of, I don’t know, froze or didn’t react in the right way. I’m not really 100 percent sure. But I was pushing ahead and it was still moving backwards, which is not normal.”

Some of the wreckage was visible floating in the sea after the accident. Luckily, no serious damage was caused in this crash. Launched in 2005, PARSIFAL III can accommodate up to 12 charter guests in a master suite, two double cabins, and two twin cabins. The yacht also has a Jacuzzi and two Open Bic sailboats for guests to play with.

Not So Lucky

The Bayesian , also created by Perini Navi, was not as lucky. Sailing in a sudden and strong squall that created too much wind and conditions for the yacht to handle, the vessel sank after its mast broke in half off the coast of Sicily near the fishing village of Porticello   in the early hours of Monday.

Of the 22 people on board at the time of the tragedy, 15 were rescued, while six others lost their lives, among them being the chairman of Morgan Stanley International, Jonathan Bloomer, and tech tycoon Mike Lynch.

His daughter Hannah Lynch, 18, is still missing, and rescuers are frantically searching for her. Lynch was a British technology entrepreneur who achieved fame through his software company, Autonomy Corporation, which Hewlett-Packard bought for over $11 billion USD in 2011.

Drug Ring Tied to Aryan Prison Gang Indicted With 24 Federal Arrests

TACOMA, Wash . – Twenty-seven people were indicted by a grand jury for drug trafficking, and many of those in the indictment are tied to the “Aryan Family,” a white supremacist prison gang, announced U.S. Attorney Nick Brown. Twenty-four of the defendants have been arrested over the last five days in Washington and Arizona. The alleged leader of the drug trafficking organization, Jesse James Bailey, is also an influential member of the Aryan Family prison gang. Bailey is alleged to have trafficked huge amounts of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and other drugs in Washington, Idaho, and to Alaska. Bailey and many other defendants will have detention hearings in Tacoma today.

“The sheer amount of narcotics seized in this investigation is shocking,” said Jacob D. Galvan, Acting Special Agent in Charge, DEA Seattle. “The fentanyl seized in this operation contained enough lethal doses to kill everyone who lives in Tacoma and Seattle, with enough lethal doses left over to poison another half a million people.”

“While the dozen counts in this indictment do not detail every criminal moment in this conspiracy, it does provide one remarkable statistic: 48 firearms seized in this case even before last week’s takedown,” said U.S. Attorney Nick Brown. “On Wednesday we took another 177 guns off the street and additional kilos of fentanyl and meth. The level of danger is high when you have people connected to Aryan prison gangs spreading drugs and using guns in our community.”

“This operation was the culmination of a year and a half of great investigative work,” said Richard A. Collodi, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI's Seattle field office. “We were able to arrest over 20 subjects, some of whom are alleged to have operated this drug organization from prison, and also prevented vast quantities of dangerous drugs from being sold on our streets. I'm so proud of how the FBI, along with our federal, state, and local partners worked together to keep our community safe.”

On Wednesday March 22, 2023, the coordinated takedown involving ten swat teams and more than 350 law enforcement officers resulted in the seizure of an additional 177 firearms, more than ten kilos of methamphetamine, 11 kilos of fentanyl pills and more than a kilo of fentanyl powder, three kilos of heroin, and more than $330,000 in cash from eighteen locations in Washington and Arizona.

These defendants have been indicted by the grand jury. All are in federal custody unless otherwise noted.

Anthony Escoto, 51, of Tukwila, in custody

William Tripp, 34, being sought by law enforcement

Dana Hanson, 57, of Burbank, Washington, in custody

Justin Hanson, 48, of Burbank, Washington in custody

Before last week’s takedown, during the year that the ring was under investigation, law enforcement seized 830,000 fentanyl pills, 5.5 pounds of fentanyl powder, 223 pounds of methamphetamine, 3.5 pounds of heroin, 5 pounds of cocaine, $388,000 in cash, and 48 firearms.

“DOC is honored to be part of this interdisciplinary task force,” said Department of Corrections Secretary Cheryl Strange. “It takes a highly skilled team to investigate, disrupt and dismantle a sophisticated group of criminals like this. Fentanyl use by incarcerated individuals and those under DOC supervision in the community has become a serious problem. Removing a major supplier of this deadly drug is a huge victory for all Washingtonians.”

“Combatting large criminal enterprises who have tentacles into our communities, prisons, and borders cannot be accomplished without partnerships at all levels. This joint effort demonstrates our capabilities to investigate and seize firearms, narcotics and large amounts of cash used to destabilize our communities and institutions,” said Special Agent in Charge Robert Hammer, who oversees HSI operations in the Pacific Northwest. “We’re thankful to the FBI, DEA, ATF, CBP, Tacoma PD, Thurston County Narcotics Task Force and all our partners in this investigation which made the dismantlement of this organization possible.”

“This operation is an example of the difference we can make when we collaborate to keep illegal guns and drugs from hitting our streets,” said Chief Avery Moore, Tacoma Police Department. “Guns and drugs have taken the lives of our loved ones, friends, neighbors, and community members. The contraband confiscated in this effort will not be allowed to harm anyone. The Tacoma Police Department, along with our law enforcement partners will not stop in the pursuit to bring those who set out to harm and exploit our communities to justice.”

This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation. OCDETF identifies, disrupts, and dismantles the highest-level drug traffickers, money launderers, gangs, and transnational criminal organizations that threaten the United States by using a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach that leverages the strengths of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies against criminal networks.

This investigation was led by the FBI with critical investigative teamwork from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Washington State Department of Corrections and significant local assistance from the Tacoma Police Department, Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, and the Thurston County Narcotics Task Force, led by the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office. Throughout this investigation the following agencies assisted the primary investigators: Washington State Patrol, Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine, Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, Lakewood Police Department, and U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS).

In addition to the agencies above, on Wednesday March 22, 2023, agents and officers from FBI Phoenix, DEA Phoenix Field Division, the U.S. Marshals Service, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF), the Puyallup Tribal Police, and the Vancouver, Pasco, Kennewick, Puyallup, Steilacoom, and Burien Police Departments, the Clark, Cowlitz, Jefferson, King, and Benton County Sheriff’s Offices all assisted with arrests and search warrants.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Max Shiner and Zach Dillon.

1.5 million fentanyl doses seized in massive Florida drug ring bust: 'No sympathy' for 'these scumbags'

Huge fentanyl ring dismantled in florida.

A Volusia County task force seized 2,300 grams of fentanyl in a massive drug bust, which equates to 1.5 million doses.

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. - More than 40 people were arrested in connection to a massive drug ring responsible for trafficking over 2,300 grams of fentanyl into Central Florida, Volusia County Sheriff Michael Chitwood said in a joint news conference Tuesday. That's the equivalent to 1.5 million doses, he said, which is enough fentanyl to wipe out the entire city of San Diego.

"Operation Daly Dose" kicked off in August 2022 as a multi-jurisdictional investigation into fentanyl and cocaine trafficking in Central Florida. The Volusia County Sheriff's Office worked with the Volusia Bureau of Investigation, West Volusia Narcotics Task Force, Lake County Sheriff's Office, FBI, DEA and Homeland Security on the operation named after Drew Daly, 29, who was arrested earlier this year for allegedly trafficking fentanyl.

Chitwood said Daly got his supplies from Vernon Woodward II, 41, and Preston Ingram, 36, who were also arrested as part of the investigation. Woodward's home and vehicles in DeLand were named in an April 4 shooting where multiple shell casings were recovered after a neighbor's house was hit by a stray bullet, officials said in a news release.

"These drug traffickers were responsible for trafficking kilo amounts of fentanyl in Volusia and Lake County on a monthly basis," Chitwood said.

The task force estimates that 6 to 8 kilos a month have been "coming in and destroying" Central Florida since the investigation began. At least one overdose death is under investigation in connection to Daly's organization, officials said in a news release.

"There should be no sympathy or no kind of anything for what these scumbags are doing to our community," Chitwood added.

What is fentanyl?

Fentanyl is a prescription drug that can be made and used illegally, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse . In hospitals, the medicine is used as a pain reliever for patients who might have just had surgery or have a physical tolerance to other opioids.

The synthetic opioid, however, is illegally made in labs and sold in different forms, including powder, eye dropper, nasal spray or pills. Fentanyl is also mixed by drug dealers with other drugs like heroin, cocaine, meth and MDMA because "it takes very little to produce a high with fentanyl, making it a cheaper option," according to the NIDA.

Some of fentanyl's effects include extreme happiness, drowsiness, nausea, confusion, constipation, breathing problems and unconsciousness.

‘They won’t be seeing the light of day for quite a while’

Throughout the investigation, officials said over 41 people have been arrested on multiple charges, including:

  • Armed trafficking in fentanyl
  • Armed trafficking in methamphetamine
  • Armed trafficking in cocaine
  • Armed trafficking in MDMA
  • Armed trafficking in heroin
  • Use of two-way communication device
  • Possession of firearm by convicted felon
  • Conspiracy to introduce contraband into county intake facility
  • Trafficking in stolen property

Some of these suspects got life sentences since it wasn't their first conviction, Chitwood said. "This time, with the amount of weight and just everything that went on with the wire taps and search warrants and some of them in their own words felt they won't be seeing the light of day for quite a while," he said.

Officials make massive drug bust in Florida

Officials seized over 3,000 grams of narcotics in a massive drug bust in Central Florida.

Officials said they used surveillance, search warrants, intelligence gathering and wire taps to "infiltrate and dismantle" the alleged drug operation. One of their search warrants revealed PVC piping where the suspects reportedly stored drugs inside and buried and a fentanyl pill press, Chitwood said. Also in a "stash house" in Orange City, officials found drugs and weapons in trees.

Furthermore, the ring is also allegedly connected to a series of organized thefts at multiple Walmart stores, where one of the suspects pretended to be an employee to steal TVs to trade them for drugs.

"These guys aren't that smart, but they're also not that stupid," Chitwood said.

Photo: Volusia County Sheriff's Office

‘Secure that (expletive) border’

Chitwood broke down where the fentanyl comes from and how it gets into the U.S.

"China sends the pre-cursors into Mexico and those labs ship it to us," he said. "I think we're pretty confident in saying that. … When you have a porous border, this is what comes into our community."

Pre-cursors are chemicals used in the illegal making of street drugs.

In Volusia County, Chitwood estimates there are about 3,000 overdose deaths a year. "We're going to keep it up our end, but we do need people to secure that (expletive) border and make it a little bit more difficult to get the narcotics in here," he said.

Over 3,000 grams of drugs seized

Officials shared what was seized in the massive drug bust:

  • 2,319.7 grams of fentanyl
  • 53 grams of black tar heroin
  • 138 grams of cocaine
  • 423 grams of meth
  • 43 grams of MDMA
  • 180 opioid pills
  • 6.5 pounds of marijuana
  • 11 firearms, one of which was stolen
  • $100,000 in cash

2,300 grams of fentanyl is equal to 1.5 million doses

Officials said that 2,300 grams of fentanyl is the equivalent of 1.5 million doses. Just 1 kilo of fentanyl is equal to 673,000 doses.

One kilo of cocaine is the equivalent to 5,500 doses, while 1 kilo of heroin is 142,000 doses.

‘The days of smoking the innocent joint’ are over

Lake County Sheriff Peyton Grinnell stressed the importance of adults talking to their children about the dangers of fentanyl.

"The days of smoking the innocent joint, it's really Russian roulette today," he said. "When they go to parties on a Friday night, that innocent toke off a marijuana cigarette might be the last thing that they ever do."

‘We’re actively coming to get ya'

The drug investigation continues as recent as Tuesday morning. Officials said two dozen suspects were taken into custody during a sweep last Thursday that included nine search warrants executed across Central Florida.

Monday night, two other suspects were brought in from Deltona, while another was picked up in Lake County on Tuesday morning.

"We're out there actively, just ‘cause there’s a warrant out there. We're actively coming to get ya," Chitwood said. "You got nowhere to hide, and they can't hide from an arrest warrant."

Over 40 people arrested in Operation Daly Dose

Among the three dozen arrests made in this investigation was Daly's girlfriend Lauren Toce, who was responsible for a child who experienced a drug overdose in 2020. The child survived, but Toce was arrested for violating probation for child neglect.

While she was incarcerated, she allegedly conspired with Daly and his brother Patrick Daly in an attempt to smuggle cocaine, Xanax and other contraband into the Volusia County Branch Jail, officials said in a news release. Deputies intercepted their efforts.
