If you are redeeming a Groupon/Travel Zoo, you can enter it under Voucher Redemption Code. Your voucher is used to hold the reservation and will not be redeemed until the day of your cruise. You can also book using Venmo.  It’s the same as using a credit card but safer.

REMEMBER: When a cruise is completely full it is immediately removed from our online schedule. Please do not call and ask for availability. All our availability is listed on this calendar. If you do not see it, it is not available. Keep checking back because cancellations do occur.

Read all this before booking:  If you bought a voucher or want to use Venmo for a PRIVATE boat for up to 6 people , please find a cruise with all 6 available slots (6/6) not 3/6 . and choose ‘Private’ under Cruise Participants. You are then welcome to come with up to 6 people . Make sure to input your Groupon Redemption Code if not using Venmo, not the Voucher number. Remember to actually select the time slot before inputting all your info.

You can also book with Venmo as payment . Select “Need to Pay-Venmo” Input your Venmo account name and you will be sent a request through Venmo. If you want a private boat , make sure you find a time with 6/6 open . If you don’t have a Venmo account, you can set up an account free of charge after you receive a request. Use your Email address instead. Venmo is just like using a credit card but safer. 

When you book for 2 you will be sharing the cruise with another couple. Couples’ cruises have been limited to 2 couples due to weight constraints. When you book for 2 the system takes 3 spots but only 2 are actually booked. Private cruises are still open for up to 6 people. 

We do have a weight limit of 1000lbs on private boats .

Roughly speaking 1 ft wide x 3 ft long. There's a total of four cup holders built into the table, two on each end.

Had a great time with the girls, do this at least 1 a year it's fun and if you get the right boat you can go further than the outline says. It's nice you just be out in the water, everyone is nice and wave back, but you also be aware of other boats and be careful with the Faire, but if you haven't done it, try it.

Newport fun tours is my to go to! They're so awesome and such an EASY & SMOOTH process. From the calling in to book to signing documents. The BEST part is the parking is so convenient! Unlike other Duffy Boat rentals-they hardly have parking. This is my 2nd time renting with Newport Fun Tours Javier & Adrian were awesome! Nicole (believe that's her name) she took my reservation on the phone. She was awesome too! Looking for a Duffy Boat rental-look no further! There is a parking fee (can't remember what it is) but it's convenient and definitely worth it.

Looking for a place to rent a boat...this is it. We decided the day before that we wanted to rent a Duffy boat in the harbor (4 of us). The online booking and filling out waivers was a breeze. They have all the instructions and safety tips on a video when you book, which makes it a time saver when arriving. We booked the hour and a half tour, which we felt was a perfect amount of time as we only wanted to cruise around at sunset. When we arrived the staff were super accommodating. The young woman checking us in was so kind and really made sure to give us the correct instructions and go over the hold that would happen on our card. When getting to the dock we had the pleasure of working with Jake. I remember his name because his service was so top notch we specifically asked his name to make sure we could shout him out. He was super helpful with not only how to operate the boat, but also tips for navigating the harbor, which can get very busy with larger boats. He was awesome both boarding and departing. The routes they have on the harbor are great and perfect for strolling. You can bring your own beverages and snacks and there's plenty of room on the table and still plenty of room to sit and move around. I would highly suggest using these guys over some of the higher priced competitors. Not only are you getting a better deal... you're getting A+ service.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a electric boat rental/Duffy boat ride with Newport Fun Tours, and it was a delightful outing. Here's a breakdown of my experience: Check-In Process: The check-in process was straightforward. Upon arrival, you head into the office to check in, receive a slip of paper, and wait in line until the staff prepares your boat. The process was efficient, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Boat Reservation and Rescheduling: You can choose how many hours you want to reserve the Duffy boat. My group opted for a 2-hour ride, which cost around $300. If you need to cancel, there's a charge, but rescheduling is free, which was helpful since we had to reschedule due to poor weather multiple times. Finally, I went on a cloudy day, and it's worth noting that wearing warm clothing is a good idea. On the Boat: The boat ride around Newport channels was enjoyable. Bringing food and snacks is a great way to pass the time. You can connect your audio to the AUX input to play music, which adds to the fun. Driving the boat is relatively easy, though there is a slight delay in steering response, but you quickly get used to it. Just be mindful of the other boats on the water. Parking: Be aware that parking in their underground parking structure costs $20 per vehicle, so factor this into your planning. The paid parking is also the reason for the 4 stars, not 5 stars. Service and Facilities: The service was kind and accommodating. You do get charged extra if you exceed your reserved time. However, your time starts only when you start the boat's engine, not when you check-in. A standout feature is that the staff cleans the boat after your ride, so you don't have to worry about scrambling to clean after yourselves. While the boat is meant to accommodate up to 12 people, I recommend having around 8 or less for a more comfortable experience. Overall, Newport Fun Tours provided a pleasant and hassle-free experience. I recommend their Duffy boat rides for a fun and relaxing day on the water.

Rented a Duffy boat from Newport Fun Tours for my mom's birthday and she absolutely loved it. We wanted to surprise her so we got there early to decorate and the staff was MORE THAN ACCOMODATING. Great place to rent boats.

Went out on a 3hr Pontoon boat ride through the harbor. Checking in was a breeze, and our boat was ready for us to board as soon as we got there. The boat was big enough to hold 12 people, but 6 people is just perfect to still be able to move around and hang out. You are allowed to bring food and drinks on the boat, which make for a fun time while cruising around. Overall it was a good time, a unique idea to hang out with some friends. 3 Hours was about $500-something.

Sad to turn my review into a one star review, but my latest experience with one of the staff members of Newport Fun Tours needs to be addressed. I went with a group of friends for a Duffy boat rental at Newport Fun Tours. Upon arrival, a large group of people were standing outside the restrooms. Apparently, right before we arrived, a drunk man had rushed into the women's restroom and vomited and peed on the floor. There was vomit on the sidewalk outside as proof. A group of women sort of banded together and all went into the men's restroom together. There was no other choice! A few minutes later, my friend arrived needing to use the restroom. I led her to the men's restroom. Mind you -- no man needing to use it in sight! Suddenly, a Newport Fun Tours employee came up to us and told us we could NOT enter the men's restroom. We explained the situation to him, but he did not budge. My poor friend was told to go speak to the parking attendant for permission? Not sure why. While she was gone, the man continued to almost stand guard in front of the men's restroom. He told me he couldn't let us because a few weeks ago a man saw a woman in the men's restroom and got upset. I said, sir, I will stand guard in front of the restroom door telling any men that come up in the 30 seconds it takes my friend to pee that she is unable to use the women's restroom due to vomit on the floor. The parking attendant (who I guess is the boss!) told my friend to just use the men's restroom, which is what she did while this employee just stood and stared at the door. Such a hill to die on. We went on our boat, and upon arrival back at Newport Fun Tours, about 2 hours after the initial incident, a friend and I went into the women's restroom. The sight of vomit on the floor, that we had to step in to get to the stalls, was disgusting. Worse though was the intense smell of vomit we were forced to smell while we used the restroom. It seems that these restrooms are shared facilities between Newport Fun Tours and other businesses, but someone needs to step up and take responsibility for them. Maybe Newport Fun Tours needs to try to ensure that people don't get trashed on the water to the point that they vomit in public restrooms. To be told that we couldn't use the one restroom available because we weren't men ... with no men around!! ... was ridiculous. Even more so was returning to shore and finding the restrooms in the same state hours later. I'll likely go elsewhere for my Duffy boat rentals in the future.

Beautiful sunset

Great option for a fun time on the water! We rented a Duffy boat with Newport Fun Tours for a party of 6 and we had a wonderful time! We booked online, choosing the latest time option (7 pm) for a 2 hour self-guided cruise around the harbor a few weeks in advance. We paid around $280, which split between all of us was not too expensive! We checked in around 30 minutes prior to our 7 pm departure time, and the guys working on the dock were super understanding and patient as we waited for our group to arrive and they readied our boat. Once we were in, they were quick and thorough in explaining how to drive the boat, the parameters that we could travel, and other helpful hints. We enjoyed the snacks and drinks we brought with us from home, as we watched the sunset over the harbor. We cruised for our two hours, and when we got back the dock workers offered to take our trash for us -- super thoughtful as they saw us struggling to find a bag to carry it in. Newport Fun Tours is a great option for Duffy boat rentals. Parking is in the same building. Yea, it's a bit pricey (I paid $16), but it's Newport Beach! Everything is pricey! I chose to park in the garage as it felt like the safer option rather than the street. There is also an exceptionally clean bathroom in the building, which I have not seen at other Duffy boat rental places. Comes in handy before and after spending time on the water!

We have used Newport Fun Tours on several occasions for their Duffy rentals and have always had a pleasant experience. Due to a cancelled whale watching tour with another company due to weather and high winds, we decided to try for a Duffy boat. Their new website option to chat with a member of their team to book a reservation was very convenient. I chatted with Nicole who confirmed my booking information did so very quickly by telephone and we were all set. We ran a bit behind for our reservation due to our small children, so I reached out to see if we could push back our reservation time. They accommodated us with no issues and let us arrive later. We will continue to use Newport Fun Tours and recommend them for anyone that wants to enjoy the beauty of Newport Beach!

First time ever doing this and it was so much fun! Everyone was so nice and helpful. Will definitely do this again!

My group and I enjoyed the trip around the harbor. The weather was great. The camaraderie was good and we had fun. This is the fourth time I have Made this trip and have it on my "must do" itinerary when visitors come to town. The only thing I would suggest needing possible maintenance or correction for this trip pertains to the boat. All the previous boats I have rented had electric motors, which operated efficiently and smoothly. The particular boat we rented this time, had an internal combustion engine which was loud with pounding sounds - like it was laboring . Also This Duffy boat was much slower than previous experiences and was not putting out the amount of power which I expected, and experienced with previous outings in similar electric models. The result was a much slower trip covering substantially less distance during the time of use requiring us to significantly shorten our trip in our efforts to get the boat back on time. Hopefully the equipment problems can be addressed for future more enjoyable trips.

Pack the car and head on an adventure with these 5 scenic drives to take this summer in RI

Summer in Rhode Island is a time for music festivals, leisurely days at the beach and, of course, Del’s Lemonade. It's also a good season to roll down the windows and enjoy a drive around the state – even if it may require packing a lunch.

Natives will be familiar with some of the state’s best-known scenic drives. But there are other lesser-known jaunts that offer equally satisfying experiences. Here is a list of five scenic drives to take this summer and get to know Rhode Island better.

Ocean Drive in Newport

Distance: 10 miles

No list of scenic drives in Rhode Island would be complete without Newport’s Ocean Drive. The route was featured last year in Travel + Leisure’s top road trips in the U.S., and for good reason: it features Gilded Age mansions, epic ocean vistas and state parks. Visitors can treat themselves at one of Newport’s fine dining restaurants or get their caffeine fix from one of the many coffee shops in town.

Start near Bowen’s Wharf on America’s Cup Avenue, head down to the intersection with Thames Street, past The Sailing Museum, and Wellington Avenue and work your way counterclockwise along the coast. You can also start on Bellevue Avenue and work your way clockwise.

Along the way, stop for a tour of Newport’s famous mansions – like The Breakers, Marble House, The Elms or Rosecliff – or a picnic at Fort Adams State Park . If you’re feeling like stretching your legs, try walking Newport’s Cliff Walk and enjoy the ocean breeze while catching glimpses of some of the mansions.

Ocean Road in Narragansett

Distance: 6 miles

For those who want to stay away from Newport’s crowds but still enjoy the ocean, Narragansett is the place to go. This quaint town in Rhode Island’s south doesn’t boast mansions and cliff walks but offers unbeaten access to the water. Make sure to stop by Brickley’s Ice Cream for some of the best frozen desserts in the state on your way back home.

Start where Beach Street meets Ocean Road, following the road south through The Towers, Narragansett’s unmistakable landmark, and along the coast past picturesque neighborhoods with historic homes. The road ends at the Point Judith Lighthouse , originally built in 1806. Visitors will have their pick of beaches if they want to take a dip in the ocean: Narragansett Town Beach, Scarborough State Beach and Camp Cronin are all nearby.

Route 77 in Tiverton and Little Compton

Distance: 9 miles

Rhode Island may be known as the Ocean State, but that doesn’t mean it lacks country charm. Take Tiverton and Little Compton, two towns in Newport County where you can find chicken and alpaca farms. You can follow Route 77 – also known as Main Road – through both towns, taking in the countryside views. Stop at Coastal Roasters for a vanilla cardamom latte or at Evelyn’s Drive-In for a lobster roll, or check out the fresh produce at Walker’s Roadside Stand . Fogland Beach is also along the route, and if you feel like hiking, Pardon Gray Preserve has 230 acres of land with trails to get lost in.

Start at Tiverton Four Corners , where you can peruse antiques shops, grab a bite from Groundswell’s European-inspired menu and enjoy dessert at Gray’s Ice Cream . Work your way down Route 77/Main Road and veer right onto Sakonnet Point Road, following it to the coast. Take a stroll around Sakonnet Point, where you can sometimes spot harbor seals.

Block Island

Distance: Varies

Few things are more romantic than a ride on a ferry to Block Island : the ocean breeze, the waves crashing against the boat, the views of open water all around you. Once you arrive you can go straight to Ballard’s Beach, a five-minute walk from the ferry, or drive north to Mansion Beach, a less-crowded spot a few miles away – though beware, there are no bathrooms or other facilities there. If you are looking for more scenic stops, visit Mohegan Bluffs, where you can take in the ocean views as far as your eye can see, or stop by North Light or Southeast Lighthouse, two beautiful historical lighthouses. If you want to truly feel the ocean breeze, rent a bike or a moped and ride around the island .

Ferries depart daily from Point Judith starting in the morning and running until the evening. If you are planning to bring a vehicle, plan ahead: This is the only ferry that takes cars and requires reservations. A high-speed ferry – departing from both Point Judith and Newport – takes passengers to the island and back. Passengers can pay a bit extra to bring a bicycle to get around the island.

Great Road in Lincoln

Distance: 3 miles

Not all road trips need be long to be worthwhile. Take Great Road in Lincoln, a 3-mile stretch north of Providence. It is considered one of the oldest thoroughfares in the country, boasting about 300 years of history in a compact stretch of land. Its historical structures range from the Arnold House (circa 1696) to the Hannaway Blacksmith Shop (circa 1880), where you can take classes on hand-forging. The main attraction is the Hearthside House (circa 1810), a stone mansion built by Stephen Hopkins Smith – with lottery winnings, according to folklore – to woo a woman from Providence. The woman, however, rejected Smith’s gesture, leading the mansion to be known as “Heartbreak House.”

Start at Gateway to Great Road , near the intersection of Great Road and Front Street. Along the way stop by Chase Farm for an easy stroll or the farm stand at Butterfly Farm, where visitors can take pictures by the twin silos. In about half a mile, turn right to follow Great Road north. If you want to visit Arnold Bakery, founded circa 1874, turn left onto Wilbur Road followed by another left at Old Louisquisset Pike. Visitors who want to extend the trip – by car or foot – can also swing by Lincoln Woods State Park nearby.

Newport International Boat Show set for Sept. 12-15. What to know.

NEWPORT – The Newport International Boat Show will take place Sept. 12 to 15 at the Newport Yachting Center Marina.

The Newport International Boat Show spans over 15 acres with six connecting show sites within historic downtown Newport, according to a news release. Visitors can walk the docks and view a spectacular display of new sailboats and powerboats, some making their debut in the United States. This year there’s an acre of even more boats to see throughout show, including a brokerage basin, with both power and sail boats ranging up to 110 feet now on display for the first time. On the land side, visitors will find hundreds of marine products, services and accessories to enhance the boating lifestyle.

Educational presentations and tech talks

Also on deck are the Cruiser’s Classroom, located Below-Deck at the Hammetts entrance to the Show, an educational experience featuring interactive presentations covering an array of marine-related topics such as boating, fishing, safety, boat maintenance and financing 101. Tech Talks are hands-on technical training classes for boaters of all experience levels led by American Boat and Yacht Council expert and Boat of the Year judge Ed Sherman (registration in advance is required for this course as seating is limited).

New models on display

As the kickoff for boat show season, many exhibitors launch new models for the first time in the U.S. at this show. Keep an eye out for the red and blue Newport for New Products Awards Program decals and burgees indicating each boat or product entry. Industry experts will judge each entry on opening day and awards are given in several categories. All winners will be announced Friday, Sept. 13. This year the program is featuring more than 40 new product and boat debuts, both power and sail.

The Windward VIP Lounge

New for this year, the show is offering an exclusive experience with the Windward VIP Lounge, a private oasis with views of Narragansett Bay and the ocean sounds of an active waterfront. It includes a premium open bar, gourmet food served all day, private restrooms and a place to relax and lounge, indoors and outdoors, and daily must-see pop-up activations.

Craft cocktails, chowder, burgers and more

The Bohlin Tent, located at the end of Commercial Wharf, is a place to take a pause to enjoy music and a variety of offerings for sale like Dillon’s Small Batch Distillers, Fishers Island Lemonade, Francis Ford Coppola, Newport Craft Brewing, Springline Coffee, Tequila Ocho, Sobieski Vodka, or Via Corota offering craft cocktails. Showgoers can also grab a quick bite at Wally’s Wieners, Castle Hill Inn and Food Love Market offerings, Newport Chowder Company clam chowder, Smoke House burgers and pulled pork sandwiches, and more.

“Expanding on the successful momentum of the past few years, we have added a number of brand-new experiences and activities to delight and entertain our visitors,” said Jocelyn Emory, marketing director of Newport International Boat Show. “Every year, we try to build an incredible event for our attendees, and we are proud to debut many of these offerings this year. Opening Preview Day is Thursday, Sept. 12, sponsored by Discover Newport and Marsh McLennan Agency, and the ticket price is $40. A One-Day General Admission ticket if purchased now through Sept. 11 is $31 or day-of tickets are $33, valid any one day Friday-Sunday.

Windward VIP Lounge One-Day Tickets  are $275. It is recommended to purchase digital tickets in advance. Digital tickets will be scanned at entry of the Windward Lounge. This VIP ticket is admission to the Windward and is your admission to the show for any one day of the Show. Visitors must be 18 or older to enter the Windward VIP Lounge. Limited quantities available.

Parking and show hours

The best place to park in town is at Easton’s Beach in Newport.  A parking pass is $40  per vehicle and we recommend securing your spot by purchasing online. There will be continuous, complimentary shuttles to and from the show site (only 1.5 miles) from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
