In 1907, a local group formed and launched the Eau Gallie Yacht Club with George F. Patterson as the first Commodore. [1] Others in the group included General John B. Castleman, Alexander Hodgson, the Gleasons [3] and the Rossetters. [1] In 1910, the Eau Gallie Yacht Club built a clubhouse along the Eau Gallie River. [4]In 1936, the club was the venue for the International Moth Class Regatta.

The Eau Gallie Yacht club, in my opinion, is the most beautiful venue for a wedding reception in Melbourne. While the venue itself it gorgeous, the outstanding staff, delicious food, and being right on the water really make for a memorable wedding. I couldn't be happier with my experience at the Yacht Club and would recommend it to anyone.

As the town grew and boating was a major activity, a local yacht club was started in 1907. The first Commodore was George Paddison and 3 years later the Paddisons deeded the property fronting on the Eau Gallie River to the club. An official club facility was completed 2 years later in 1912 which was the size of a 2 story house.
