The 41.15m/135' motor yacht 'Blue Ice' was built by Baglietto in Italy. Her interior is styled by design house Porfiristudio and she was completed in 1999. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Aldo Cichero and she was last refitted in 2021.

Range & Performance

Built with a aluminium hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks, she has impressive speed and great efficiency thanks to her planing hull. Powered by twin diesel MTU (12V 4000 M90) 12-cylinder 2,199hp engines running at 2100rpm, she comfortably cruises at 26 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 28 knots with a range of up to 1,000 nautical miles from her 35,000 litre fuel tanks at 12 knots. Her low draft of 1.9m/6'3" makes her primed for accessing shallow areas and cruising close to the shorelines. Her water tanks store around 18,925 Litres of fresh water. She was built to ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) classification society rules.

A spotlight on two must-see yachts heading to auction

US-based online yacht auction platform Boathouse Auctions offers the opportunity to bid on two exciting yachts beginning on 10 October. Aspiring owners are invited to get their hands on two beautifully maintained superyachts: Feadship 's 52-metre Ice Bear , listed for sale with Kevin Kramer of Burgess , and Intermarine 's 41.5-metre Fortitude , for sale with Will Noftsinger of Denison Yachting .

The auction house not only helps facilitate a quicker decision with the help of the involved brokers but also provides a streamlined, simplified process that provides prospective buyers with recent hull and engine surveys. Equipped with all the information to make your decision, the outcome of an auction is a turnkey sale, bypassing the frustration often encountered in traditional sales processes where the yacht undergoes a survey only after a sale price has been agreed upon. In such cases, the boat might fail the survey, leading to disappointment for all parties involved.

Bidding will commence in just under a month, and as every buyer knows, preparation is key. With that in mind, it’s a great opportunity to familiarise yourself with two standout yachts for sale ahead of their upcoming auction dates.

Length: 52m Builder: Feadship Year: 1988

Vintage Feadships are granted something of a regal status – a chance to truly own a piece of maritime history.  Delivered in 1988, the 52-metre Ice Bear offers just that. Used only privately since she hit the water as Gallant Lady , the superyacht boasts some of the industry's most iconic names. Notably, Frits De Voogt was responsible for the avant-garde exterior – defined by a near-flat sheer and bow to the height of the main deck. Other noteworthy features on board include the observation deck, where views are amplified by vertical glass.

She was the third in a string of yachts named Gallant Lady (there were eight in total) – all commissioned by the same owner. However, the yacht marked a series of firsts – she was the first Gallant Lady with an interior developed by Paola D. Smith and Jan Moran, inspiring complexity and detail in the next generation of Feadships that hadn't been seen previously.

The yacht's 614GT  accommodates 10 guests across five cabins, including a full-beam master on the main deck with a private office, walk-in wardrobe, and his-and-her en suite bathrooms. Meanwhile, two double guest cabins are located on the lower deck along with two twins. There are a further six cabins for a crew of 11.

Powered by a pair of 1,172hp Caterpillar engines, she hits a cruising speed of 13 knots and a maximum speed of 15 knots with a range of 4,850 nautical miles. In terms of tenders, she is accompanied by an 8.5-metre Shamrock Sportfisher and 5.5-metre RIB.

As expected, in her 36 years on the water, the yacht has had maintenance and refit work, her most recent being her ABS annual in 2023.

Also going under the hammer is the 41.5-metre Intermarine yacht Fortitude. Built by the American shipyard and delivered in 1999 to a design by Luiz de Basto , the tri-deck yacht has an excellent ownership history with several upgrades and constant care. Her lines remain traditional and timeless, and her Marc Michaels interior was updated in 2022 to be brighter while maintaining her sophisticated look.

Her generous 398GT affords her five cabins, with the owner's stateroom on the main deck as well as a VIP, two doubles and a twin, with complement for a crew of eight. Other strengths include the gym (with a Peleton treadmill) and expansive flybridge. Up top, the sundeck is the perfect place to unwind with a wrap-around lounge for table seating, barbecue and a Jacuzzi. Meanwhile, the skylounge features a bar area forward with black granite countertops and glass doors aft.

As well as the toybox staple Yamaha Waverunners, the yacht for sale also boasts a Bauer TFC AM25 dive compressor for those wanting to explore beneath the waterline. She comes with a five-metre Hard Botton Inflatable 90hp tender. Her tenders are found on the lower deck aft for superior stability and easier access to water.

Fortitude 's MTU engines were overhauled in 2018 and the pair of 2,250hp MTU engines push the yacht to a cruising speed of 10.5 knots, a top speed of 18 knots and a range of 3,200 nautical miles.
