For Non-Members
Thank you for your interest in the Winnipesaukee Yacht Club. We are a private yacht club consisting of 125 members. In order to become a member you need to be proposed by two active members to be included on the waiting list for membership. Our club is a “member participating” club in which the members provide most of the work which maintains the grounds and facilities. We promote sailing and seamanship and sponsor several yachting events over the course of the season.
This website is primarily for the distribution of WYC club related information to current club members and Race event information to non-members. WYC membership is not required to participate in races! If you are interested in participating in WYC races and not a WYC member please visit the Race Calendar for dates and more details of our sailing events. P lease feel free to visit our facility on race dates to participate in WYC races.

Welcome to Mountain View Yacht Club

We are the premier yacht club on Lake Winnipesaukee, ideally situated in Saunders Bay in Gilford, NH. The club features stunning views, two private sandy beaches, 200+ boat slips, office, store, gas dock, three bath houses, two laundry facilities, a launch ramp, two launch wells with a 55,000 lb. travel lift to haul and launch member’s boats, basketball and volleyball courts, children’s playground, service buildings, and other amenities.
Mountain View Yacht Club is privately owned, family oriented, and pet friendly.
MVYC slips are all equipped with fresh water, electricity, and optional cable TV.

Mixed Fleet Racing. Most of the organized adult sailing on Lake Winnipesaukee is sponsored by the LWSA and/or the Winnipesaukee Yacht Club. Events are typically mixed-fleet, handicapped (PHRF) races with round-the-islands courses and are held on weekends. There are usually both racing (spinnaker) and cruising (non-spinnaker) divisions.

The 2023 J/80 North American Championship took place on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire, one of the most picturesque lakes in New England and the White Mountains. A fleet of two dozen boats was assembled to do battle from all across the USA and Canada. Hosting the event was the Winnipesaukee Yacht Club.
Lake Winnipesaukee Sailing Association was founded in 1988 as the Lake Winnipesaukee Yacht Racing Association, [4] and its main focus is on youth sailing education. The Sailing School is located on Smith Cove in Gilford, with classrooms in the Dave Adams Memorial Sailing Center, [5] named after a local sailor who started out sailing at LWSA, but died as a young adult.
