Dock Maarten Marina Expansion: A New Era for Mega-Yachts

Dock Maarten is located in Great Bay , St Maarten. It has evolved over 45 years to become a top destination for mega yachts. For the 2024/25 season, Dock Maarten is fully booked, expecting over 15 mega-yachts, including those requiring 100-meter slips and deeper drafts. Michel Deher began constructing the marina in 1978 with his brothers. The family-owned marina has grown significantly, with its latest phase now accommodating some of the world’s largest yachts.

The marina stands out for its advanced features: a 624-foot-long cofferdam, which serves as both a breakwater and a docking station for two mega-yachts, and a sophisticated underwater mooring system that ensures stable yacht anchoring. These innovations allow the marina to host vessels that cannot pass through Simpson Bay Bridge and offer a convenient gateway for yachts heading to nearby destinations like St. Barths.

The development has positioned St. Maarten as a key home-porting hub, fostering economic growth through increased yacht-related services, from provisioning to repairs. Despite challenges like hurricanes and the COVID-19 pandemic, Dock Maarten has thrived, benefiting from strategic investments and minimal marketing, relying instead on high demand for its large slips.

Further expansions are planned, including retail shops for cruise passengers and more facilities for yacht maintenance and support services.

Luxury yacht St David is the perfect charter platform for yachting vacations spent entertaining in style

The 60m/196'10" motor yacht 'St David' (ex. Xanadu) by the Italian shipyard Benetti offers flexible accommodation for up to 12 guests in 6 cabins and features interior styling by British designer Winch Design.

Built in 2008, St David boasts a multitude of decks ideal for relaxation and entertainment indoors or outdoors, ensuring guests will live la dolce vita on the open waters. She is equipped with a dancefloor, spa and gym.

Guest Accommodation

St David offers guest accommodation for up to 12 guests in 6 suites comprising a master suite and five cabins that can operate as twins or doubles. The bed configuration includes 1 king, 1 queen and 4 doubles. She is also capable of carrying up to 14 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.

Onboard Comfort & Entertainment

On your charter, you'll find plenty to keep you busy and entertained, notably a dancefloor where you and your guests can celebrate in style. Kick back and relax in the well-appointed spa and in addition maintain your fitness routine and work out in the well-equipped gym. Sit back with a glass of champagne in the deck jacuzzi.

St David benefits from some excellent features to improve your charter, notably Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing you to stay connected at all times, should you wish. Guests will experience complete comfort while chartering thanks to air conditioning.

Performance & Range

Built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, she offers greater on-board space and is more stable when at anchor thanks to her full-displacement hull. Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, she comfortably cruises at 13 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 17 knots with a range of up to 5,500 nautical miles from her 116,000 litre fuel tanks at 12 knots. An advanced stabilisation system on board reduces the side-to-side roll of the yacht and promises guests exceptional comfort levels at anchor or when underway.

Onboard St David has a large selection of toys and accessories to keep you and your guests entertained on the water throughout your stay. Guests can experience the thrill and adventure of riding a Yamaha GP 1300 WaveRunner. Another excellent feature are waterskis that are hugely entertaining whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro. In addition there are two Cayago F7 SEABOBs, that allow you to skim along the surface or steer under the crystal water and see a variety of aquatic sea life. If that isn't enough St David also features wakeboards, kayaks, fishing equipment, scuba diving equipment and inflatable water toys. When it comes to Tenders, St David has you covered - with two tenders, including a 7.5m/24'7" Tresco Limo Tender.

St David and her crew are available for charter this winter for cruising within Bermuda and the Caribbean. She is already accepting bookings this summer for cruising in the Mediterranean.
