Great food & friendly staff. We enjoy going to MYC on Friday nights for their baked cod & potato pancakes. We've also been trying some of the new items on the menu from the new chef- last night's dish was the Pear & Prosciutto Crostini appetizer. Delicious! My only complaint on the current menu is the pizza. Unfortunately, it's not worth ordering. Hoping the new chef will change the pizza recipe.
Pear & Prosciutto Crostini appetizer.
I had a wonderful experience dining at the Milwaukee Yacht Club. Drinks, service and food were all grade A. I started off with the fried chicken sliders which are served 4 on a plate. It is a very generous portion for an appetizer and was delicious. For dinner, I split the lobster roll and cheese burger with my girlfriend. The lobster roll was great, a hot and buttery roll with a fair amount of lobster salad. The cheeseburger was the real winner for me- one of the best I've had in MKE. You can' One of my favorite parts about going to the yacht club is the drinks. Their bar tenders definitely know what they are doing and certainly never skimp on the alcohol. I highly recommend the dark and stormy!

I adore the Milwaukee Yacht Club, both for the food and the ambiance. We sat outdoors for drinks and dinner, and the views of the water were beautiful. Their cocktails are great; I usually get the Dark and Stormy but tried a margarita this time and both are strong and delicious! I got the veggie hummus wrap which was very good; the vegetables were fresh. It came with a side of ranch chips which I recommend! We got a side of ranch dressing to dip them in as well. My mom got the chicken sandwich which she loved as well. TMYC has defiantly stepped up their food lately; everyone I was with enjoyed their dish! The outdoor seating is dog friendly as well which I greatly appreciated. I defiantly will be back soon!!

The MYC did an amazing job hosting my wedding! My aunt and uncle are members here and they recommended we check out the venue for our wedding. We knew we wanted to be on the water. This place was actually affordable compared to others with the added bonus of actually being able to take boat rides. Their service was amazing, food was delicious, and venue was gorgeous. They worked with all our vendors very well. They had a great bartender and we were very well taken care of. Best part was getting to take boat rides after the ceremony and before dinner!

Extremely friendly and helpful. Kari In membership and Dan the Dockmaster made us feel welcome and answered all our questions. Looking forward to joining and being a part of this wonderful and beautiful club!!
Had a great breakfast here today. Service was exemplary. My bloody Mary was delicious, the coffee was perfect. Daughter and I had the Croque Madame, which was grilled ham, white cheddar, with an egg over medium - an excellent sandwich! Son had a ham and cheddar omelet, which he inhaled! Hubby had a perfectly prepared club sandwich accompanied with a generous fruit salad. Their hash browns were fried to perfect crispiness in butter, I could have eaten a pound of them!
Can't say enough good things about how the Yacht Club handled the wedding reception for my sister and her husband yesterday Oct 28th 2017. The staff was courteous, respectful, helpful and kind. Nothing was left to be worried about it and you made her day great. The food was excellent, the staff handled everything and the room looked great. Thank you again. The only recommendation I have would be to consider installing a small ATM machine. Personally I wanted to tip the bartender more but was completely out of cash after putting a few dollars in the jar. For the amount of running he did I would recommend it in the future. If you believe it would take away from the ambience of the room I'd suggest somewhere downstairs out of the way possible near the restrooms. Once again I thank you MYC for doing a most excellent job.

Lafayette Hill Road is typically a safe bet, as police are often there to help when crossing. Mention you have a class at the Yacht Club and they’ll let you pass.
Parking – park just outside the designated member parking area. Once you arrive, please call your instructor and they’ll direct you to where you’ll gather for the start of your class.

No Phase 2 Funding for North Section Parking Lot Renovation
## TIME SENSITIVE ##
As many of you know the Parks Department has been planning to renovate the Northern Parking area of McKinley Marina which includes the Boat launch, winter storage, Milwaukee Yacht Club Parking, and of course the North Section Slip tenant parking lot. you can see a Power Point Slide set from the Presentation by Clicking here: https://www.milwaukee.gov/ImageLibrary/Groups/Everyone/ParksUpload/LDAC/PDFs/McKinley-Marina-north-parking-/PEECMarinaPresentation.pdf
This project was to be completed in 3 phases over 3 years. This first of which has been funded and is slated to begin and complete construction prior to the opening of the 2019 boating season. However, Phase 2 is a different story.
During the Budget debate and trimming of the 2019 Capital improvement budget the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors decided not to pursue funding for phase 2 of the parking lot renovation. (Source: 2019 Capital Budget https://county.milwaukee.gov/files/county/administrative-services/PSB/BudgetsCopy-1/2019-Budget/2019-Proposed-Budget/2019CapitalCEXRECBUD.pdf
This is of course devastating news especially in light of the proposed 2% slip fee increase for 2019, but we are hoping you can help change that and time is running out. The Budget Adoption meeting is on 11-5-18 ( https://milwaukeecounty.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=A&ID=611734&GUID=7CFE13D2-3083-466F-97C6-7D449A0BA206 ) just 3 business days (6 total days away)!
We need you to reach out and talk to your Board Supervisor and tell them to reinstate phase 2 funding for the McKinley Marina parking lot renovation. Find your supervisor here: http://www.findyourcountysupervisor.com/

Yacht Club Replacing Docks in McKinley Marina
Milwaukee Yacht Club planning $4.5 million replacement, redesign of docks.
The Milwaukee Yacht Club is planning to revamp its docks in the McKinley Marina .
The club, which has operated in Milwaukee since 1871, is planning a $4.5 million project to replace its docks, which include approximately 100 boat slips.
The yacht club leases its space from Milwaukee County. In 2018, the club renewed its lease for another 25 years for $68,000 a year, or $1.7 million over the life of the lease.
The yacht clubs docks, which account for approximately 15% of the boat slips in the marina, are currently fixed docks. The lake’s natural seiche, whereby the water periodically rises and subsides, causes the docks to be at various times swamped by the lake or dangerously elevated above the water surface.
The docks, along with the electrical and plumbing run along them, are in constant need of repairs, Cota said.
The new docks will be floating, which puts them in line with most modern marinas, Cota said. They will be constructed by Summerset Marine based out of the Eagle, Wis. and the decking will be high density polyethylene made from recycled plastic and manufactured by N.E.W Plastics Corp. of Luxemburg, Wis.
The system of docks are also being redesigned by MSA Engineering, to provide for wider fairways, better traffic in the marina and an improved view of the Milwaukee skyline.
Cota said that Milwaukee County has been investing in McKinley Marina lately and said, “This is our proposal to step up and be on par with what the county is doing.”

The marina will also see new life breathed into it this summer with The Bartolotta Restaurants reopening the roundhouse as a concession stand serving light snacks, drinks and some boating items.
Beyond the role it plays for its members, the Milwaukee Yacht Club also promotes boating education and is the host site for the UW-Milwaukee and Marquette Sailing teams.

Only $68,000 a year in rent for that massive parcel of lakefront real estate?
What a steal!
Are the taxpayers getting screwed? Our county parks could sure use more funds.

Harbor of Hospitality
Welcome to the biggest, friendliest and most inclusive yacht club on Lake Michigan, bringing together folks from all walks of life. While we have our blue-blazer traditions, no one ever called us stuffy. What you'll find is a more laid-back vibe that invites people to just be themselves, away from the pressures of life in general. We're a busy gathering place year round, unlike typical yacht clubs that go into winter hibernation.
Dues and slip fees are surprisingly affordable, in part because our passionate members help maintain the place. Being a major Great Lakes yacht club, we host an exciting sailing and power boating scene. Yet, a growing segment of members don't even own boats. For them, SSYC is all about fellowship, in the most romantic spot on Milwaukee's lakefront. Smack in the heart of the city's most happening neighborhood.
The Best Experience at a Reasonable Price
What's it like to be a member? It's different for everyone. You can carve out your own experience and pick your context. But we believe one thing is true across the board. Among private clubs in metropolitan Milwaukee, South Shore Yacht Club gives you one of the best experiences for the money.
