Greenline Yachts: The Complete Guide to Greenline Yachts
Last Updated on April 14, 2022 by Boatsetter Team
Green by name, green by nature.
A relatively new entry to the boating industry, Greenline Yachts has revolutionized yachting with a range of innovative and environmentally friendly features. This is boating that does not cost the earth.
The History of Greenline Yachts
Greenline Yachts was launched in 2008. As all great ideas do, they began life on the drawing board. Greenline yachts became a bestseller just one year later, selling more than 550 units of their Greenline 33 in over 28 countries. Its dedicated team of engineers and designers had built a safe, comfortable, and elegant boat.
But it did not stop there. In 2010, just two years after their launch, Greenline’s maiden production, the Greenline 33, became an international bestseller. New boats followed rapidly in 2011, 2013, 2016.
In 2019, the Greenline 48 Coupe premiered in Dusseldorf, Germany, where it amazed onlookers. Since then, the company has grown and continued to innovate, inspire and raise the bar. Who knows what the future holds for this firebrand?
The features of a Greenline Yacht.
Innovation. Innovation. Innovation. Ever since their introduction of the first-ever hybrid boat, which combined diesel and electricity, in 2008, Greenline has revolutionized the boating industry. They have set the bar as a pioneering, forward -thinking, and game-changing boatbuilder. Their vision is to shape the future of boating into environmentally sustainable and, in doing so, establish themselves as the most responsible boat brand in the world.
The designers at Greenline know that their customers want to be at one with the ocean. They want to plunge themselves into the big blue, explore it, conquer it, all without leaving a trace, preserving it for future generations to enjoy too. With their expansive range of hybrid and fully electric boats , this dream is made a reality.
Each model is powered by renewable sources of energy and fitted with solar panels, so it won’t be only the passengers who are soaking up the rays! Greenline yachts use organic boat wash and biodegradable rubbish bags, as well as being built of eco-friendly fabrics, such as PET foam core, grass paper, and recycled materials.
But this is at no sacrifice to speed or performance. Greenline Yachts boasts a range of innovative technological features that will ensure you stay top of the pack. Greenline Yachts are the only range of yachts currently in production that offers H-Drive as well as E-Drive; they have built-in vacuum infusion technology. In contrast to conventional yachts, this means that their boats have optimal weight and robustness, higher quality of material, alongside being kind to the environment.
Low centers of gravity ensure that the utmost levels of safety and comfort are maintained on and below the deck . This comes from Greenline’s technical mastery in placing all the heavy components of the boat in the deepest part of the hull , which renders the vessel more impervious to rolling and increases stability – even in the choppiest of waters!
Of course, all Greenline models are built to a highly sophisticated level. They harness the best of modern technology, especially in tooling and prototyping, and the inherited wisdom of the past in handcrafting to build arguably some of the world’s most advanced boats. Tradition and experience blended seamlessly with the cutting-edge and futuristic.
The Greenline Range

The Greenline 33
Where it all began.
Measuring in at 32’9″ (9.99m), the Greenline 33 is a splendid yacht containing 1 salon (plus an optional bunk ), 7 berths and 1 bathroom. It has a fuel capacity of 132 gal (500L) and can hold 80 gal of freshwater (300L).
The Greenline 33 has a hybrid and electric drive and conventional diesel options, true to their pioneering spirit. Its Volvo Penta D3 can deliver speeds of up to 11 knots and 170 HP. Their decade of experience in hybrid engines means that this is the ideal system for performance and efficiency while ensuring that your passengers remain comfortable on the deck.
A signature feature of the Greenline 33 is its Aft Galley , which combines the cockpit and galley into a fabulous and inviting social area. There is no single step between the bathing platform and the helmsman position to ensure one level of living throughout the boat.
And with 360-degree panoramic views from the inside, natural light will delight your senses!
The Greenline 39
The big brother of the 33, the Greenline 39 is beefy with a beam of 12’4″ and accommodation for up to six people. Friends, family or business colleagues, you name it, you can bring them. Wishing to lavish your passengers in comfort and grace, the designers at Greenline have fitted the 39 with a bank of solar panels, which you can use for all the boat’s appliances, whether you are at sea or having a drink at the port . Even better, this means that the boat does not make a sound. No noise. No vibrations. No emissions. No disturbances. Nothing. Just you …
And the seagulls.
The 39 has high-performance LiPo Batteries 2 x 13.3 kWh in its hybrid edition, which have a charging rate of 8 kWh/day. Depending on your energy management and the weather conditions, this translates as 2 days on anchor, while using the full range of appliances that a family needs, including laptops, TVs, fridge and stove. Still, the non-hybrid is built with efficiency in mind. It consumes approximately 6.5 kWh/day for 4 people in a 24 hour period.
Looking at the exterior of the yacht, the cockpit and side decks are sheltered to afford your passengers maximum security and protection so that people of all ages and abilities can enjoy the weather. Plus, the Helmstand side door provides safe maneuvering throughout the boat.
The Greenline 40
The family favorite.
Biggest of all, the series provides the perfect venue for you to sit back with your family and enjoy. No work. No-fuss. Just sheer relaxation and comfort. With 2 cabins, a large salon, and a maximum of 6 berths, the Green 40 can cater to families of all shapes and sizes. And with a fuel capacity of 185 gal (700L) and water tank of 106 400L, there is no need to worry about running dry.
The Greenline 40 enjoys all of the Green technologies that makes Greenline so, well, green. It has 4 high performance LiPo batteries that allow the whole family to stay connected and entertained for 3 days on anchor. For those with more restrained usage, this can be more. Nonetheless, available as a diesel, electric or hybrid drive. This is a boat with green credentials.
For when the sun is dipping below the waves and it is time to relax, the Greenline 40 has an adaptive owners cabin , which supports a multiplicity of sleeping arrangements.
The Greenline 45 Coupe
Say hello to the ocean’s solar power plant.
Available as a Diesel Drive, Hybrid Drive or Electric Drive, the Greenline 45 can accommodate up to eight people with 2 or 3 spacious cabins, depending on customisation, and has two bathrooms. One of these cabins – yes, you guessed it, the master cabin – is full beam, meaning it is nearly 5 metres wide. What a treat. Its diesel tank has a large capacity of 396 gal (1,450L) and 159 gal (600) of freshwater, besides plenty of black water for whatever your needs.
Get ready to impress your guests with the homely natural wood table in the salon, and walk-in closet, and walk-in wardrobe for both cabins. Let the fashion shows commence.
But the Greenline 45 Coupe does not stop there. Like the previous models, it has EDrive technology. Built-in partnership with Torqeedo, this revolutionary technology provides silent, emission free propulsion along the waves, and integrated energy manages to run the boat’s domestic supply efficiently and ecologically. This is complemented by SIMRAD Navigation Electronics , complete with an extra-large navigation dashboard for your viewing pleasure.
Enough of the tech stuff. There is also a hydraulic bathing platform which can be raised or lowered to ensure easy, safe access to the waves.
The Greenline 48 Fly
Independence at its finest
On the outside this boat is unmistakable. It will turn heads at the port. Thanks to its smartly designed covered sidewalks, the flybridge on the yacht is extra-large. It is wider than most of the other boats in its class. =
Greenline knows that a holiday should be relaxation par excellence. This is why they have developed extra wide and protected side passages, with side doors that aid speedy jumping on and off the ship, and an extra protective hardtop option that is enriched with additional solar panels. While the traditional side anchor is standard, Green also offers the option for a boat anchor.
Full-sized freezer? Check. Wine cooler? Check. Extra-large owner bed? Check. The convertible salon of the Greenline 48 Fly, with an adjustable table, offers the opportunity to transform the main dining area into extra berths for when your guests want to hit the hay.
Below deck, the Greenline 48 Fly has 2 x Yanmar 8LV320 engines that generate speeds up to 20 knots and have 320 HP each. This will allow you to cruise at the perfect pace. There are 3, optionally 4, cabins and a maximum of 6 berths, 2 in the salon, and another. Besides, there are 3 bathrooms.
Still curious? Watch the renowned yachting critic Boat Test try one out.
The Greenline 68 Ocean Class
The extraordinary just got even more extraordinary.
The biggest yacht ever made by Greenline, the 68 Ocean Class is a force to be reckoned with. This yacht demonstrated to the world that the shipyard was knocking its boat, building up a gear. Read the reviews here!
If you want luxury, that remains environmentally sound, then look no further than the flagship of the Greenline Yachts family: the 68 Ocean Class.
Taking the open-plan to the next level, the world-class yacht has Greenline’s signature Aft Galley, which combines the cockpit and galley in a magnificent space for socializing. During the daytime, the whole interior of the boat is flooded with natural light due to the 360-degree panoramic windows. And for when the sunsets (or is high in the sky), there is an expansive wine cooler in which you can stow away your favorite bottle – or two.
Alongside providing extra protection to the craft, the 68 Ocean Class has a hardtop on the flybridge, which coincidentally creates an excellent diving platform. Ready to impress your crush? Just make sure that the water is deep enough.
68′ 3″ in length and with a 17′ 11″ beam, this behemoth will dominate any port or harbor. Or, if you fancy getting away from it all, the boat would be the perfect companion for you to visit your favorite coastline. Italy, Miami , or the Bahamas – you decide.

Your Comfort
When you combine one of the best insulated engine bays with a modern diesel engine, you get one of the most silent boats on the market today.
- One level living concept makes the movement onboard the Greenline 39 safe and effortless
- City water connection connects the boat’s water system with the shore water grid – just like the electricity connected to shore power.
- In the owner’s cabin, the beds can be moved to create single or double berths.
- The Greenline 40 has three different entry height levels (stern platform, side exit, bow), allowing you to safely board and disembark your yacht at all times.
Your Experience
Greenline 40 is the best choice for a couple with occasional friends or a small family of experienced yachtsmen, for hardened sailors or even for newcomers to boating with all the comforts of home.
- She runs silently, without smoke, or wake in electric mode and drastically reduces the amount of fossil fuel used during a boating season at sea, on lakes or inland waterways.
- Diesel or electric? Hybrid! All it takes is a flip of a switch to turn a diesel driven boat into full electric and back. Straightforward and simple.
We are Dymph and Wim Bijnen, the proud owners of Greenline 40 named Dymple. We made some changes to the boat – the blue hull, extra teak on the sun deck and on the benches in the cockpit gives this boat more cachet. For this summer a trip is planned to the Olympics in London where there is a big Sail Parade on the Thames to London.
As we owned lots of boats before we know it’s impossible to design and built a new boat without any problems, however Greenline/Seaway pursued in getting the boat right! We have never seen service like this before, big compliments to Seaway and Nova yachting. We are now the proud owners of this wonderful hybrid. As we use the boat in the northern part of the Netherlands it’s awesome to sail electric through parts were there are only lots of birds, the silence is amazing. What we also love is just anchor somewhere in the middle of nature without worrying about shore-power and still have all the luxury like we were at home. In short; we love the setup of this hybrid! It’s quiet, full of luxury and very versatile. Love it! Greenline 33, too awesome.
We are very happy with our Greenline 40. It gives a new dimension for family navigation. The boat is comfortable and really easy to handle.
Jon and Anne Fleming live on the Gold Coast. They have owned a Greenline Hybrid 40 since 2013 and clocked up over 1000NM in the first year. The couple have owned a lot of boats over the years – we asked them why they chose the Greenline this time.
“We wanted to sometimes travel without noise. We chose the hybrid version of the Greenline for that reason and often use it when the tide is in our favour – and it’s terrific – both effective and efficient. We live on the Gold Coast and go away for a day or 2 at a time heading to South Stradbroke Island and Jumpinpin. The Greenline is very comfortable for overnight trips away with everything we want – we often say it’s just like an apartment. We love the large galley and great fridge. We also love the full size beds in the main cabin – it’s easy to divide them in the in day time and push them together in seconds at night.
Easter in Mooloolaba
For Easter we went to Mooloolaba which is around 80 miles from us. It was quite rough off the northern top of Moreton Island but we were reasonably comfortable on board and the boat handled the conditions beautifully. We had 4 adults and 2 children on board for the long weekend. We had a fantastic time – dropping the stern down to enjoy the water and indoor-outdoor living. I guess for us the Greenline stood out from the crowd. We wanted plenty of shade, walk around decks, single level living and a swim platform. We also love the overall visibility and the fact that we can sit in the cabin and watch TV. The living space is really well thought out. We are absolutely thrilled with boat and our experience with eyachts has been very good. They attend to everything straightaway and are a pleasure to deal with.”
John Bossi had his eye on the Greenline for months. After several boat shows, lots of reading and research, he made a shared decision with his wife, Jo. The couple finally settled on the Greenline 33 Hybrid over their second choice, a catamaran. In his own words, John shares with us what his family loves about the Greenline 33…
Why the Greenline 33? “At first the attraction was the styling. The Greenline has a unique look for the market…it’s retro but modern. The combination of design and material like the beautiful woods give it a great look. I’m also impressed with its phenomenal value for money just in the purchase price. That’s on top of the savings you gain from its hybrid engine and solar power features.”
Where has the Greenline taken you? “Mainly day trips on Sydney Harbour and an overnight at Cockle Bay. We had it offshore in a 2 to 3 meter swell and it exceeded my expectations. The Greenline is gentle and plows through waves easily. It’s a supremely seaworthy yacht. The steering is relaxed and doesn’t roll as much as some of our past boats. There is none of the slamming you get on a planning hull. We look forward to doing some coastal cruising and more overnights in the future.”
How’s life aboard? “We love it! We have 3 children and lots of friends and family we like to entertain. I’m Italian and my wife loves to cook big meals – its our way of relaxing, creating memories with our favourite people. The Greenline is a perfect fit for our lifestyle – it’s truly an entertainers’ boat.” The Greenline has a great layout with a seamless flow from inside to out. I’m always involved in what’s happening when I’m driving. Again, in my other boats, I was on the flybridge talking down to everyone below. We also had our Christmas party on board. I invited the staff from my dental practice to a restaurant for what they thought was lunch and showed up in the Greenline. They were ecstatic! With 10 guests on board we had a blast cruising Sydney Harbour on a beautiful summer day.”
Any surprises on the Greenline? “One night we docked off Cockle Bay for dinner thinking it would be a great way to avoid driving late at night. We went back to the boat around midnight when we realized the party on Cockle Bay was just getting started! Surprisingly, as soon as we shut the door our world went silent for a great night of sleep! I had no idea the sound insulation was that good.”
What would you like potential Greenline owners to know? “It’s an extremely versatile boat. The brochures indicates this, but it wasn’t until going to 3 boat shows and owning one myself that I realised what that meant. There are actually 5 saloon configurations we use when we have guests aboard (see photos below).
1. Dining with L shaped and side seating 2. Coffee Table seating 3. Comfortable helms seat for two 4. Open Saloon using coffee table as a serving table or seat on bathing platform 5. Guest berths with a double and single bed
Each configuration takes seconds to arrange. Also the bed in the owner’s cabin is so easy to convert – again seconds. Having two entrances into the bathroom is a really nice privacy feature. The engines are also easy to access.”
How was eyachts ? “Working with Dan Jones was great… there were never problems, only solutions. I found that across the board with everyone I was in contact with at eyachts. I’ve made a lot of purchases from dental equipment to motorcycles. I have never experienced a standard set so high across an organisation. I love the espresso machine that Dan gave me as a purchase gift – perfect for an Italian. It was very thoughtful and a great ending to a wonderful experience.”
Our names are Ron and Andrena Williams. We purchased our Greenline 33 about 5 months ago through a wonderful agent; Richard Wardenburg and his lovely wife Suzy, from Auckland NZ. We have really enjoyed this boat, it is ideal for our situation in The Marlborough Sounds, S.I. of New-Zealand. The Marlborough Sounds has 1,500 km`s of coastal waterways, with variable winds and seas flat, to quite rough at times. Greenline travels well and, no-one experiences motion sickness on this boat. It is ergonomically excellent, with the extended deck area enabling us to partake in more activities, more easily, such as divine, swimming. The cost per hour to “run” at 5.7litres of diesel, is envied by other boat users. PS: My wife has a fear of water and boats but has gotten quite confident on our Greenline 33.
As we owned lots of boats before we know it’s impossible to design and built a new boat without any problems, however Greenline/Seaway pursued in getting the boat right! We have never seen service like this before, big compliments to Seaway and Nova yachting. We are now the proud owners of this wonderful hybrid. It’s quiet, full of luxury and very versatile. Love it! Greenline 33, too awesome.
Despite the acceptance of hybrid technology in cars, similar technology in boats still raises a few eyebrows, but there is no reason why it has any less promise in marine applications. Indeed, it may well be the future of powered boating and Slovenian boat builder Greenline is leading the way.
Hull shape and Hybrid propulsion are reducing the fuel consumption and environmental impact as well as increasing the comfort and quality of life on board.
The Greenline 33 is not only the big surprise of the year but arguably the most significant new boat of the decade.

Guests can still live in the lap of luxury during a green yacht charter — environmentally friendly charter yachts harmoniously blend sustainability with the utmost comfort. These eco-vessels below prove you can relish having your own floating kingdom while still respecting the surrounding nature that makes your dream possible.
Motor yacht YERSIN
An enthralling eco-vessel, superyacht YERSIN astounds on every level, offering stratospheric levels of comfort whilst boasting zero emissions and low fuel consumption. She's an expedition yacht that employs a range of sustainable practices, including the use of water filtering and chemical-free products onboard, and even features her own research laboratory.
Accommodating up to 12 guests in 8 elegantly appointed staterooms, motor yacht YERSIN also has no shortage of sumptuous offerings, including a spa, a teppanyaki grill and a professional diving facility. And as an explorer yacht, she can easily quench charter guests' thirst for epic odysseys, from the arctic wilderness to far-flung tropical isles. In fact, this vessel can cope with practically any temperature with aplomb: ranging from -20 degrees to a sweltering 50.
Thanks to her dynamic positioning system, superyacht YERSIN can also cruise intimately close to marine parks for spellbinding scuba dives — and all without disturbing the underwater menageries that live below the surface.
Motor yacht HAZE
Brand new motor yacht HAZE features solar panels which means guests eager to minimize their environmental impact during their charter can reduce their overall generator use.
Boasting a sporty silhouette with a sleek high-gloss finish, motor yacht HAZE is a visual masterpiece as well as a highly dynamic vessel. Petite but no less impressive than the other eco-friendly yachts featured, she is replete with a three-level beach club, panoramic windows, and an outdoor cinema setup — incredibly unusual for a 26m green yacht.
Sleeping up to 8 guests in 4 sumptuous cabins, she features solar panels which means guests eager to minimize their environmental impact during their charter can reduce their overall generator use, as the panels can power smaller appliances onboard instead. She also uses considerably less fuel, which translates into less carbon emissions and less impact on our beloved seas.
Superyacht SAVANNAH
Launched as the world's first hybrid superyacht, SAVANNAH is a precedent-setting vessel and ready to cater to every whim; from soothing tired toes to resting bronzed limbs.
She has an impeccable set of eco-credentials for conscientious cruising. Her green features include a quiet yet high-performing electric-diesel engine reducing fuel consumption by 30% and an efficient hull design.

Winner of numerous accolades, SAVANNAH houses a spa of unrivaled caliber — and we aren't using hyperbole here. An undulating rosewood spiral staircase leads you to a state-of-the-art sauna, hammam, steam room, massage room and more. But that's not all: this majestic yacht also features a 30ft swimming pool, an underwater viewing lounge cum cinema, gym and an elevator to connect four copious decks plus a veritable armada of tenders and toys for when the open waters beckon. This is all for 12 guests to enjoy across 6 staterooms.
Superyacht HOME
Charter yacht HOME gets five out of five eco-stars. She's a paradisical temple that's forward-thinking, with an uber-efficient FDHF hull design with hybrid propulsion. What does that mean for the environmentally conscious charter guest? A wonderful ripple effect on your impact and overall experience: lower emissions, better fuel and energy consumption, as well as reduced noise and vibration.
Yet motor yacht HOME still remains very much a pleasure palace that thrills those on her decks. Sleeping 12 guests in 6 glorious cabins, she is bursting with deck space providing no end of lounging and entertaining options. Her highlights include a sundeck packed with a Jacuzzi, sit-up bar, shaded lounge and cloud-like sunloungers and a jaw-dropping sky lounge that drapes the room in light. You can also spend many an action-fuelled afternoon celebrating the sea with her dizzying array of water toys.
Sailing yacht DUNIA BARU

She has developed an enviable reputation as one of the world's leading vessels and known for her strong commitment to eco-friendly living. Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid Takes Helm As Flagship
- By Caleb Revill
- October 10, 2024
Greenline’s latest flagship, the Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid, is an owner-operator cruiser with an eco-friendly propulsion system.
According to a news release from the Slovenian yacht builder , the 58 Fly Hybrid has a next-generation hybrid drive capable of 40 percent lower emissions than a standard diesel engine.
The yacht offers three propulsion options: one for diesels and two for hybrid drives. With the diesel setup, the 58 Fly Hybrid can have the following twin diesels: 730 hp MAN i6, 850 hp MAN i6, 1,000 hp MAN V-8, 1,000 hp Caterpillar or 1,000 hp Volvo Penta D13.
The MAN i6 engine options can be upgraded to a hybrid drive with the 6G H-Drive upgrade. A 6G/HV H-Drive System is also available.
“The H-Drive 6G is Greenline’s most efficient drive yet, with better performance, an improved user interface and groundbreaking low-voltage electric motor,” the release stated. “As a pioneer in the hybrid space, Greenline Yachts has been honing its technology for over 15 years, and the latest iteration allows the Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid to offer an impressive range of 20 nautical miles in silent electric mode with speeds up to 6 knots.”
The 58 Fly Hybrid is designed by naval architect Marco Casali to minimize the appearance of the flybridge while maxing out its usable space. There is a fully equipped helm station as well as room for a smart bar, a six-person dining table and an open deck for loungers or seating.
The main deck aft offers a multifunction space with a square dining table centerpiece, sofas down two sides and loose chairs at the forward end. A short flight of teak-lined steps on each quarter leads down to the six-foot deep swim platform. The foredeck lounge seats three people on cushions ahead of the superstructure’s windows.
The 58 Fly Hybrid’s galley is aft and can be fully opened to the deck outside thanks to its glass door and swing-up window. It’s equipped with fridges, a freezer, an induction cooktop and a dishwasher. The space under the galley sole can be used in a number of ways, from extra food stowage and a built-in washing machine to a technical space.
This eco-cruiser’s salon offers plenty of social space with sofas to starboard and a dinette to port. A designer ceiling light creates a warm homelike glow, reflecting off the natural wood table. Fabrics from recycled fibers, sustainable woods and foam made from recycled PET, help reduce the manufacturing footprint of this yacht.
Three staterooms, including an owners’ suite, can be reached down a broad staircase to a lower-deck lobby. The owners’ stateroom is amidships and fills the full beam, and includes a king-size berth, sofa, vanity table and stowage including a walk-in closet. The sn suite and stateroom are fitted with porcelain ware to contrast with the warm, woody finish and curves of the joinery.
A VIP with a double berth is located at the bow, also with an en suite head. The third stateroom between the two to starboard is flexible and can be configured as a twin for children or a double for friends. An en suite head is included for either.
“Our unique approach to responsible yachting gives owners the option of speed when it matters and optimum efficiency over shorter distances,” said Greenline owner and managing director Vladimir Zinchenko, in the release. “The Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid exemplifies the concept, but it’s also found across all our yachts. Responsible Yachting is a philosophy which has led us to make significant reductions in waste and energy usage at the yard, eliminating paper-based marketing material and recycling as much as we can.”
