Yes, there is. To make the experience special for you and your group, we require a minimum booking duration of three hours.

What is the duration of the charter?

As any local Charlestonian will tell you, don't let our weather forecasts fool you into missing out on a gorgeous charter or beautiful sunset! Our weather forecasts call for a 30-50% chance of rain nearly every day! If it does rain, it is usually only for a short period during a pop-up shower.

01 Will I get seasick?

Since we stay inside the harbor, protected from larger waves of the open sea, it is unlikely that you would get seasick. The water is calm and the boats are only subjected to large waves created by other boats. Concerned passengers could bring products that contain ginger, such as ginger cookers, or Ginger Ale because they have been known to help calm an upset stomach. Be sure to start taking ginger or any other sea-sickness medications the day before your charter for the best results. We recommend you stay away from the drowsy kinds. Recommendations are provided for informational purposes only. Please consult your physician with any questions regarding a medical condition.

02 Are your yachts safe?

Yes! Our yachts are clean, well-maintained, and fully insured for charter. All of our vessels meet or exceed safety requirements by the United States Coast Guard with onboard equipment that includes Type 1 Personal Flotation Devices (life jackets) for every passenger, an approved Sound Producing Device, fire extinguishers, flares, a VHF radio, & an approved throwable ring buoy. They also meet equipment, operation, and pollution prevention regulations established by the Coast Guard. Vessel Captains possess a valid license issued by the U. S. Coast Guard and undergo random drug screenings.

03 Can I bring more than 6 passengers?

Yes, on our Motor Yacht Kismet, which has been specifically designed to carry up to 23 passengers. You will find 23 to be pretty tight, we recommend keeping the maximum passenger count to under 20. 

The sailing yachts both are limited to 6 passengers, however, you can rent boat sailboats and take 12, having 6 on each boat.

04 Do children or infants count as a passenger?

Yes, they do. The United States Coast Guard considers every person, except for the Captain and crew as a passenger. Children require supervision by parents or guardians at all times and must be capable of remaining calmly seated for several hours. If you are bringing younger children, we recommend a charter length of no longer than 2 hours.

Charleston Yacht Tours start at $900 for 2.5 hours. If you want to book a Charleston Harbor Cruise all day or night, it will only cost you an extra $300/half hour. Mike is  a fun-loving, experienced, licensed captain based in Charleston, SC. He is a seasoned boater dedicated to safety and will ensure that your party has a memorable day or evening on the water.

Mike is an Air Force veteran who served on Air Force One for many years. He currently volunteers with the Charleston Veterans Drug Treatment Court helping our troubled veterans get back on their feet.

Mike is ready to provide a great time on the water for your boat rental events including corporate events, birthday parties, anniversaries, or any other occasion. All local, state and federal laws will be adhered to and no illegal drugs nor alcohol consumption by MINORS under the age of 21 will be allowed during the charter.

Yes. We use a system called Cognito to ensure that payment information matches the renter's identity. We also require renters taking out a captained boat to be at least 18 years old and on a bareboat to be at least 25 years old.

Yes! Listing a boat is completely free. We only take a commission when your boat is rented. We only make money when you do!

What if I'm not comfortable having a renter drive my boat?

If you are not comfortable having a renter drive your boat, we have an expansive network of licensed and experienced captains. Once your boat is listed, you can filter through our network of captains and favorite captains in your area that you would like to operate your boat.

Overnight Cruise

Our most exclusive yacht charter is an overnight trip for two to Beaufort, SC. On this charter, guests will travel from Charleston to Beaufort, where the boat will dock for the night at the Downtown Marina. Located on the intracoastal waterway between Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA, Beaufort is home to Port Royal, stunning golf courses, historical information regarding Gullah culture, and much more. Come morning, breakfast will be brought to the guests when they are awake and ready. Travel back to Charleston will follow.

*Due to the nature of this excursion, costs start at $5000 plus expenses. At this time, this is the only overnight charter available.

Catered Cruise

Depending on what yacht charter you've chosen to book, you may find yourself in need of food and beverage catering. Charleston is known for its gourmet cuisine and there are numerous, fantastic options available. We're happy to work with whomever you choose. However, if you're not sure where to go, we highly recommend Caviar & Bananas located on George St. (Their photos are featured in the slideshow to the right.) Please contact us for more information.

Sunset Cruise

It's called Golden Hour for a reason, and we're inclined to believe that Charleston does it better than anyone else. When colors encompass the sky and the sun touches the horizon, there's no better place to be than on the water. Book in advance to reserve this coveted time of day... You don't want to miss it.

Scattering Ashes

Here at Charleston Charter and Yacht, we know that the passing of a loved one is a solemn time. Many choose to spread the ashes of their loved ones at sea in lieu of formal arrangements. There are also those that choose to utilize our services after holding a Celebration of Life ceremony. No matter what you choose to do, our yacht charter is equipped to legally handle ash scatterings off of the South Carolina coast. We can safely hold up to twelve people and offer a comfortable, affordable funeral solution with unmet privacy.

Set sail with Coastal Charters of Charleston aboard our meticulously maintained vessels—the Axopar 37 Suntop and the 21 ft Sea Hunt Center Console. Designed to accommodate from 7 to 12 guests, our boats ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience on the water.

Our charter pricing is straightforward, based on an hourly rate with a minimum reservation of 3 hours on our Sea Hunt and a minimum of 2 hours on our Axopar. This allows you the flexibility to tailor your experience, ensuring every moment on the water with Coastal Charters is precisely what you envision. While we welcome you to bring your preferred beverages, please note that alcohol is allowed onboard but is not provided.

Explore Charleston By Water! Private Yacht Charters are available for hourly, daily, and weekly excursions. One of our qualified captains will safely escort you through your voyage, and up to 6 passengers may ride along during the voyage. Guests are encouraged to take the helm and participate as much they desire, or just sit back and enjoy the ride. Bottled water and ice will be provided. Guests are welcome to bring additional food and drinks aboard to enjoy while cruising. A fully equipped galley is available for your use on all yachts 30’+. Charleston Superyacht Charter

We offer hourly and overnight charters for up to 12 guests in and around the beautiful Charleston harbor, Cooper River and Wando River.  Dockside hourly and overnight charters are available upon request.  The maximum number of guests overnight is 6 persons. All charters are fully crewed with a Captain, Engineer, and Stewardess. Charter rates include full use of the vessel, crew, docking at the Ashley Marina, fuel, soda, water, and snacks.  Crew gratuity is not included in the charter fee and 20% is collected upfront.

Our booking agent is here throughout the booking process to make your luxury yacht charter an unforgettable experience. Charleston is a city known for its cuisine and we want to bring a taste of the Lowcountry to all of our guests. Catering options are fully customizable and include anything from light snacks or hors d’oeuvres to a full culinary experience including a private chef serving an 8-course dinner event. Whatever level you desire, our team will find the right package to suit your needs. Alcohol is BYOB. Guests may bring their own alcohol on board, include that with catering, or choose to add a professional bartender with a fully stocked bar.
