Singapore Yachting Festival 2023 | Opening Ceremony 27 April
The Singapore Yachting Festival kicked off on Thursday 27 April 2023, with an enthusiastic introduction from the event organiser Wade Pearce – Founder of SG Marine Guide , “The mere fact that this event has come alive (after only six weeks to prepare) speaks volumes about the regional boating industry and demands of the Asian boating community, it’s really a tribute to the growing boating culture in our part of the world.” Venue Host Arthur Tay – Chairman of ONE˚15 Marina echoed the developments, “In parallel with the Singapore government initiative to attract UHNI and family offices to Singapore, we are seeing those individuals also invest in a luxury lifestyle which includes owning a superyacht.”
With the speeches over, Pearce and Tay were joined by Kwee Eng Thien – CEO of Sentosa Development Corporation to continue official proceedings to open the event on the docks with a traditional lion dance, ribbon cutting, and – naturally – all the boats in the marina sounding their horns. After the opening, the group toured some yachts and explored the festival area. “My heartiest congratulations to Arthur Tay and his team ONE15 Marina and Wade Pearce for bringing premier yachting festivities back to Singapore as we strive to be the desired yachting destination for world-class events!” said Kwee.

Simpson Marine Concludes Successful Singapore Yachting Festival 2023
Simpson Marine, Asia’s leading yacht dealership and brokerage firm, has once again demonstrated its expertise and leadership in the yachting industry at the Singapore Yachting Festival 2023.
The event, which took place from 27-30 April at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove, saw Simpson Marine showcasing a stunning line-up of eleven luxury yachts, including models from the world-renowned brands Sanlorenzo, Bluegame, Beneteau, Lagoon, Fairline and Aquila.
Sanlorenzo presented two impressive yachts: the SX88 and the SX76 making its SEA Premiere . Both models are from the brand’s innovative SX crossover range that redefines yachting lifestyle and serves as the ultimate platform for bespoke oasis at sea. Sanlorenzo and Bluegame owners and customers were welcomed for a series of lifestyle experiences including a champagne welcome, art exhibition and diamond appreciation by Graff at the dedicated Sanlorenzo Lounge and Garden located within the Simpson Marine office right next to Simpson Marine display on dock E and ED.
Bluegame showcased the BGX60, which was making her Asia premiere and joining her very active bigger sister BGX70 that is often seen being enjoyed in Singapore waters. Bluegame yachts were incredibly popular at the show as they represent a refreshed and unexpected layout concept with very impressive living volumes that exceed all yachts in their length category. Their features also include fluid and organic flow on board and a fully glass encased raised cockpit with a compact carbon fibre finished centre console that makes you feel in total sync with the sea.
Lagoon impressed visitors with the show’s biggest catamarans on display including the imposing 11m wide Lagoon SIXTY 7 motoryacht and SEA Premiere Lagoon 55 sailing catamaran. Both were praised for their spaciousness, luminosity, comfort and quality of finish, coupled with smart and practical solutions on board, created for real yachtsmen spending substantial time at sea.
Beneteau showcased both sailing and power boats with a SEA Premiere Oceanis Yacht 54, a truly luxurious and safe cruiser that ticks all the boxes for easy double handed sailing, and a Gran Turismo 41, a perfect day cruiser that is ideal for enjoying Singapore’s waters and islands with friends.
Fairline presented the Targa 45 Cruiser and a brand new Squadron 50 flybridge motoryacht. Both yachts are popular sizes for Singapore’s waters and berths and clearly impressive with their woodwork finish, beautiful detailing, clean layouts and comfortable lounging spaces in every possible location.
Finally, Aquila’s Aquila 36 Sports Cruiser was a popular option for many regional visitors who appreciated its swift handling, robust and safe looks, clean and welcoming design, and solid engineering and navigation systems. Aquila 36s are very popular yachts in Asia with many of them cruising in Thailand, Malaysia and further north.
In addition to the presentation of yachts for sale, the Simpson Yacht Charter team were on hand to book yacht charters during the show, and with several promotions for Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and European destinations the team was busy welcoming customers and presenting them with multiple options for their dream yachting holidays.
The Simpson Superyachts team was also represented with a series of new listings presented to customers on request.
And finally, the Simpson Malaysia team, as agents of the Langkawi Yacht Registry, were on hand to help boat buyers from all over Asia to register their boats in Malaysia. This is an easy and swift process with Simpson Marine, which has been one of six agents for this service in Malaysia and the only international company, with over 1,000 yachts successfully registered in the past few years.
With its impressive showcase of yachts, Simpson Marine attracted a large number of visitors throughout the event. The company’s team of experienced yacht brokers and assisting services were on hand to provide expert advice and guidance on every aspect of yacht ownership, including selecting the right yacht to buy in Singapore and Asia, advising on yacht sales, yacht management, and after-sales service.
Simpson Marine‘s success at the Singapore Yachting Festival 2023 was further reinforced by the signing of several new sales contracts with clients looking to purchase their dream yacht.
Mike Simpson, Founder and Managing Director of Simpson Marine, expressed his gratitude to the visitors and clients who visited the showcase, saying “We are very pleased with the response we received at the Singapore Yachting Festival 2023. We take pride in showcasing some of the finest yachts available and are thankful for the recognition and trust shown by our clients in choosing Simpson Marine as their yachting partner. We were certainly not expecting such large numbers of visitors after these three long years without a show but it was truly rewarding to see so many old and new friends on the docks and so many visitors from all parts of Asia. We expect this to be another busy year for the yachting industry in Asia, and for Simpson Marine.”
Simpson Marine‘s success at the Singapore Yachting Festival 2023 only reaffirms its position as the leading yachting company in Asia, providing unparalleled service and expertise to its clients.

Combining the very best aspects of the yachting industry, the Singapore Yachting Festival will pave the way for more community and experiential maritime events in Southeast Asia.
Our original plan for this cruise was to use the "Moscow option" and spend our second day not in St. Petersburg, but in Moscow. However, the second day is a Thursday - when the Kremlin is closed. The second day is the only day that the long trip to Moscow is possible. But there is no point in going all the way to Moscow without seeing the Kremlin! Major disappointment!
