ACACIA Specifications

ACACIA features a dark-coloured hull combined with a white superstructure. She is a 200-tonne displacement yacht with an 8-metre beam and a draught of 2.74m (9').

She has a 1,500 nautical mile range with nearly 32,000 LT capacity tanks, which makes her bluewater capable. Her top speed reaches 24 knots. This stunning and one-of-a-kind vessel was built to RINA unrestricted navigation classification. She is the second hull built by Sunseeker in their composite materials (GRP) 40-metre series.

1. Design, Refit & Upgrades

ACACIA was built in 2011, but this year, she was completely refitted to upgrade her yachting experience. This 131’ tri-deck motor yacht has a five-cabin configuration. Her exterior and interior layout are designed to allow for the most comfortable ride.

Since ACACIA’s build, she has had regular servicing and upgrades, including new satellite internet and television, teak replacement on the sun deck, and new interior flooring in 2022. Accompanying these upgrades, she has had a stunning hull repaint in Majestic Blue in 2019 that sets her apart visually as well.

This luxury yacht charter incorporates a strategic interior design that keeps style, comfort, and logic all in mind, for the best vacation, every time. The dining areas, staterooms, and sky deck are all perfectly placed so that each activity can be enjoyed to its fullest extent.

2. Accommodations

ACACIA features a well-planned interior layout that includes five spacious staterooms which can sleep 10 guests, including a stunning main-deck master suite. The full-beam primary suite has a bi-level en-suite bathroom that includes his and her sinks and a striking walk-in shower.

The remaining four en-suite guest cabins are located on the lower deck. There are two VIP suites and two twin cabins; each twin cabin can be converted to a double and has an additional Pullman berth, for plenty of space if more guests will be joining the fun.

The upper deck aft has an al fresco dining table that can seat 10 guests. It leads into the upper salon with a wet bar, breakfast table, and entertainment area featuring a 55-inch television (one of eight onboard). Entertainment onboard features multiple wireless access points, DirecTV, all major streaming services, Kaleidescape, and video games.

ACACIA’s main deck includes a 12-person formal dining area with walnut wenge wood flooring underfoot that runs the entire deck from the lounge to the master stateroom. Just behind the dining area is a large formal salon that leads out to the aft deck, where you can find couches for relaxing above the swim platform. Truly every corner of this boat can be the perfect place to unwind.

3. Sky Deck

ACACIA ‘s sky deck has all the bells and whistles. Coming furnished with exercise and yoga equipment, get your body moving and your skin glistening with a flawless view, be it for a memorable morning workout or a sunset session.

The true gem of the sky deck is its relaxing Jacuzzi, perfect for sipping on a cocktail while gazing out at said view. Entertain guests with at the sit-up bar or lay out on the sun pads with cooling water misting systems keeping you and your guests relaxed and refreshed. Talk about an oasis!

If that wasn’t enough, two folding dining tables provide an al fresco dining option which can seat up to 10 guests when extended. An early-bird sunrise breakfast or dinner by moonlight can be shared with your loved ones. Bon appetite!

4. Water Toys & Tender

As one of the top yachting destinations for 2022 , the crystal waters of the Bahamas are the perfect place to dive in and explore. ACACIA is the ideal boat for this destination given its vast collection of water toys and sports, as well as not one, but two tenders!

ACACIA offers endless water sports options, including eFoils, Seabobs, kayaks, and paddle boards…to name a few. She also has a 35-foot Scout tender with a cabin, boasting 900 horsepower from three Yamaha 300 engines. The Scout is great for activities such as fishing, snorkeling, diving, and jetting to destinations. ACACIA Yacht Charter

Acacia yacht description.

ACACIA is a beautiful 40-meter Sunseeker motor yacht built in 2011 and newly refitted. She has a three-deck and five-cabin configuration. She is very well-maintained, with the latest update in 2022. The master suite is located on the main deck with a bi-level en-suite bathroom that includes his and hers sinks and a beautiful walk-in shower. The remaining guest cabins are split between four en-suite cabins on the lower deck: two VIP suites and two twin cabins (each twin room can be converted to a queen as needed and are equipped with an additional Pullman berth). Since ACACIA’s build, she has had regular servicing and upgrades, including teak replacement on the sun deck and new interior flooring in 2020. Accompanying these upgrades, she has had a stunning hull repaint in Majestic Blue in 2019 that sets her apart as a visual beauty. She has additionally completed her 10-year RINA Class Survey in 2021. The flybridge is made for entertaining guests on hot summer days; it is home to a Jacuzzi, sun pads, a sit-up bar, and cooling water misting systems to keep guests relaxed and refreshed when needed. There are two folding dining tables that provide an al fresco dining option and can seat up to 12 guests when extended. A second dining area can be found forward of the main saloon and seats 12, with walnut wenge wood flooring underfoot that runs the entire deck from the lounge to the master stateroom forward. As much as guests will enjoy the interior and exterior of the yacht itself, ACACIA is equipped for many adventurous as well as relaxing activities. She has a 35-foot Scout tender (with 3 Yamaha 300 engines) as well as a 19-foot Williams Sportjet that is excellent for wakeboarding, waterskiing, fishing, snorkeling, and cruising to a destination. The Scout is also excellent for accommodating beach picnics with land sports and water sports including Seabobs, kayaks, paddle boards, and toys such as floats and games. It accommodates sand toys as well and can be equipped for a beach set up–including chairs, tents, umbrellas, and even massage tables.

Joseph Thompson (Captain) Captain Joe was born and raised on the small Bahamian island of Elbow Cay in the Abacos Islands. Influenced by his love and passion for the ocean, he decided to pursue a career on the water and began his career by attending the Massachusetts Maritime academy. He worked on large commercial vessels throughout his cadetship before taking his experience to the yachting industry. Captain Joe has been in the yachting industry for over 10 years and is extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and leads his programs with an easy-going style. He has worked on strongly established charter programs for the majority of his career, making him well versed in providing a wonderful experience for all guests on board. When Joe is not on the open seas, you will find him surfing and enjoying quality time with his wife. Samuel Brown (Chief Officer) Samuel spent his childhood years in Cornwall, England, where he followed in his family's footsteps and became a 5th generation commercial lobstermen. Sam knew from an early age he was destined for a life at sea and by age 16 he began working full time on fishing vessels, eventually working up to captain of his own program. In 2015, he decided to transition his maritime experience to the yachting industry and has spent the last seven years on vessels ranging from 380’ private programs to 130’ charter yachts. Sam is currently studying to become a yacht captain in the future and in his free time he enjoys both scuba and free diving. Felix Noonoo (Chief Engineer) Engineer Felix joins M/Y Acacia from Elmina, Ghana. He grew up on the West Coast beaches of Africa and was inspired to work on vessels by his grandfathers' career as a Marine Engineer. Felix attended Maritime University in his home country earning his degree in Marine Engineering before starting his career on commercial ships. He worked on commercial programs for 14 years, ascending the engineering ladder while continuing his educational certifications and traveling all around the world. He was introduced to yachting by a friend and decided to apply his engineering expertise in the yachting industry. Felix is the go-to for all projects both big and small and is committed to the function and safety of M/Y Acacia. When he is not in the Engine room, Felix enjoys spending time with his two young daughters and finding new and interesting places to visit. Allison Sabo (Chief Stew) Allison was born and raised in a small town in Indiana. She attended post graduate school at Indiana University with her degree in Human Resource Management, specializing in managing cultural diversity and found the yachting industry, filled with many cultures, would be a great way to integrate her educational experiences along with seeing the world. Throughout her time in the industry, Allison has worked for prestigious programs in all areas of the Interior. She has a passion for service and in-depth knowledge of all forms ranging from high end formal events, to relaxed beach picnics and theme nights. Phil Browning (Chef) Chef Phil began his career at 12 years old working as a part-time dishwasher after school in his hometown of Shropshire, England. He settled down in Denmark after years of traveling and took his talents to Café Victor, where he cooked for royalty and celebrities daily. While working in Denmark, he discovered yachting and returned to his passion of being a world traveling chef. Chef Phil is an expert at his craft and creates innovative dishes catered to your preferences that make every dining experience one to remember. When Phil is not in the galley he enjoys skateboarding and exploring whatever location we are in. Rhys Channon (Bosun) Growing up a stones throw away from the ocean in Cornwall, England, Rhys has always enjoyed living on the water. His family consists of multiple competitive sportsman and Rhys decided to make his own way in watersports by becoming a pro surfer where he combined his love for the water and travel, competing all around Europe and Africa. After ending his surfing career, Rhys knew yachting was the perfect industry to implement his skills and strong work ethic. He is a certified instructor in a wide variety of activities both onboard and ashore and is happy to instruct you in any water activities. As an experienced Bosun, with seven years of experience in the industry, Rhys is dedicated to providing safe and exciting experiences throughout your stay. While living in Spain, Brianne took an interest in vineyards and studied wine in-depth chose to apply this knowledge upon returning home where she worked as an Event Manager at a Pacific Northwest winery. This position sparked her interest in high end service which inspired her to pursue a career in the yachting industry. Brianne has been a stewardess for three years, working in Europe and Southwest Florida for most of her career. She is driven to provide the highest level of excellence in hospitality and takes pride in working alongside her crew mates. In her free time, Brianne enjoys fashion and exploring podcasts to brush up on new and interesting topics. Christy Leather (Deck/Stew) Christy has lived in various cities and towns in South Africa, where she was born. Growing up in St. Francis Bay surrounded by the ocean and family with a passion for boating, she finds joy in being on the water. Christy attended University where she studied Business and Law, however upon graduating realized she wanted to pursue a career involving more adventure which brought her to yachting. After completing both deckhand and stewardess courses, Christy joined her first yacht in Ft. Lauderdale, M/Y Acacia, and has been onboard since. As the deckhand/stewardess she is a versatile crew member with an enthusiasm for providing top-notch service in both departments. After ending his surfing career, Rhys knew yachting was the perfect industry to implement his skills and strong work ethic. He is a certified instructor in a wide variety of activities both onboard and ashore and is happy to instruct you in any water activities. As an experienced Bosun, with seven years of experience in the industry, Rhys is dedicated to providing safe and exciting experiences throughout your stay. In his spare time, Rhys enjoys spending time with his fiancé, scuba diving, and property hunting for new additions to his property portfolio.<br /> <br /> Brianne Ricketts (2nd stew)<br /> Hailing from Oregon, Brianne grew up studying dance and Spanish- two passions that collided into inspiration while she was living abroad in Barcelona. While living in Spain, Brianne took an interest in vineyards and studied wine in-depth chose to apply this knowledge upon returning home where she worked as an Event Manager at a Pacific Northwest winery. This position sparked her interest in high end service which inspired her to pursue a career in the yachting industry. Brianne has been a stewardess for three years, working in Europe and Southwest Florida for most of her career. She is driven to provide the highest level of excellence in hospitality and takes pride in working alongside her crew mates. In her free time, Brianne enjoys fashion and exploring podcasts to brush up on new and interesting topics.<br /> <br /> Christy Leather (Deck/Stew)<br /> Christy has lived in various cities and towns in South Africa, where she was born. Growing up in St. Francis Bay surrounded by the ocean and family with a passion for boating, she finds joy in being on the water. Christy attended University where she studied Business and Law, however upon graduating realized she wanted to pursue a career involving more adventure which brought her to yachting. After completing both deckhand and stewardess courses, Christy joined her first yacht in Ft. Lauderdale, M/Y Acacia, and has been onboard since. As the deckhand/stewardess she is a versatile crew member with an enthusiasm for providing top-notch service in both departments. Captain Joe has been in the yachting industry for over 10 years and is extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and leads his programs with an easy-going style. He has worked on strongly established charter programs for the majority of his career, making him well versed in providing a wonderful experience for all guests on board. When Joe is not on the open seas, you will find him surfing and enjoying quality time with his wife.<br /> <br /> Samuel Brown (Chief Officer)<br /> Samuel spent his childhood years in Cornwall, England, where he followed in his family's footsteps and became a 5th generation commercial lobstermen. Sam knew from an early age he was destined for a life at sea and by age 16 he began working full time on fishing vessels, eventually working up to captain of his own program. In 2015, he decided to transition his maritime experience to the yachting industry and has spent the last seven years on vessels ranging from 380’ private programs to 130’ charter yachts. Sam is currently studying to become a yacht captain in the future and in his free time he enjoys both scuba and free diving.<br /> <br /> Felix Noonoo (Chief Engineer)<br /> Engineer Felix joins M/Y Acacia from Elmina, Ghana. He grew up on the West Coast beaches of Africa and was inspired to work on vessels by his grandfathers' career as a Marine Engineer. Felix attended Maritime University in his home country earning his degree in Marine Engineering before starting his career on commercial ships. He worked on commercial programs for 14 years, ascending the engineering ladder while continuing his educational certifications and traveling all around the world. He was introduced to yachting by a friend and decided to apply his engineering expertise in the yachting industry. Felix is the go-to for all projects both big and small and is committed to the function and safety of M/Y Acacia. When he is not in the Engine room, Felix enjoys spending time with his two young daughters and finding new and interesting places to visit.<br /> <br /> Allison Sabo (Chief Stew)<br /> Allison was born and raised in a small town in Indiana. Throughout her time in the industry, Allison has worked for prestigious programs in all areas of the Interior. He settled down in Denmark after years of traveling and took his talents to Café Victor, where he cooked for royalty and celebrities daily. While working in Denmark, he discovered yachting and returned to his passion of being a world traveling chef. After ending his surfing career, Rhys knew yachting was the perfect industry to implement his skills and strong work ethic. He is a certified instructor in a wide variety of activities both onboard and ashore and is happy to instruct you in any water activities. Brianne has been a stewardess for three years, working in Europe and Southwest Florida for most of her career. After completing both deckhand and stewardess courses, Christy joined her first yacht in Ft. Lauderdale, M/Y Acacia, and has been onboard since. She is very well-maintained, with the latest update in 2022.<br /> <br /> The master suite is located on the main deck with a bi-level en-suite bathroom that includes his and hers sinks and a beautiful walk-in shower. The remaining guest cabins are split between four en-suite cabins on the lower deck: two VIP suites and two twin cabins (each twin room can be converted to a queen as needed and are equipped with an additional Pullman berth).<br /> <br /> Since ACACIA’s build, she has had regular servicing and upgrades, including teak replacement on the sun deck and new interior flooring in 2020. Accompanying these upgrades, she has had a stunning hull repaint in Majestic Blue in 2019 that sets her apart as a visual beauty. She has additionally completed her 10-year RINA Class Survey in 2021.<br /> <br /> The flybridge is made for entertaining guests on hot summer days; it is home to a Jacuzzi, sun pads, a sit-up bar, and cooling water misting systems to keep guests relaxed and refreshed when needed. During this time, he was taking different theoretical and practical classes together along with his summertime internship as a cadet. After Six years in Navy School, he began working as a cadet officer in both cargo ships and cruise ships. In 2011 he launched his career as a second engineer on his first yacht. Ever since then his marine engineering has grown exponentially. The interest and self -improvement has motivated him to take several courses and exams (both written and oral) He was able to obtain his Chief Engineer Unlimited Qualification and his United Kingdom Maritime Coastguard Agency Y2 Qualification. A very calm natured person, Freddy has a logical and well thought approach to problem solving. He enjoys keeping fit by playing tennis. Growing up in Montevideo, Uruguay he also loves to scuba dive and surf. <br /> <br /> Jessica Rynaski (Chief Stewardess)<br /> Jessica was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, where she cultivated her artistic and musical skills. Her first job working as a florist is where her love for design and nature flourished. Growing up near the base of Mt. After going to college for a Business degree, Jessica worked in guest service, and in office environments, and eventually worked up to be the Accounts Payable manager at a large corporation before making moves to join the Yachting Industry. She was intrigued by the opportunity to make people happy while also utilizing the creativity she was born with. She has taken Interior and Silver Service courses to widen her scope, and has been lucky to have been mentored and trained closely with everyone she’s worked with, learning all it takes to create a welcoming and clean environment. The very best places to charter in Greece

Quaint white washed villages, windswept islands, clear blue waters, protected harbours and pristine beaches — Greece is a yachting playground for good reason. There are a wealth of places in Greece to discover on a yacht charter, from iconic islands like Santorini to lesser-visited petite islands and exploring the coast of the mainland. On a Greek yacht charter, you can find yourself the sole vessel moored in front of a quiet beach you can only reach by boat, dance the day away at a Mykonos beach club or visit historic archaeological sites. No matter your interests, stepping on board a private yacht in the Greek islands can take you there.

The Cyclades Islands

From the clifftop views of Santorini to the boho-chic atmosphere on Mykonos, the Cyclades stand out among the best places to charter in Greece. But even beyond these iconic locales, there are a plethora of smaller isles that deserve your time and are easy to visit on a Cyclades island yacht charter.

With soul-stirring sunsets, black-sand volcanic beaches, historical sites and photo-worthy vistas, Santorini is one of the most sought after islands in the Cyclades. Mykonos is a favourite as well, thanks to its vibrant nightlife (and daytime) party scene, high-end restaurants and beautiful anchorages framed by perfect beaches.

Other islands not to miss in the Cyclades include Paros, which has charming villages and the ideal conditions for windsurfing or kitesurfing. Milos is famed for its dramatic landscape, highlighted by caves and cliffs which can be explored by boat. Of course, Greece is also renowned for its dining, and on the laidback island of Sifnos you can sample octopus bruschetta and grilled squid at its seaside tavernas.

The Saronic Islands

Sailing in Greece from Athens to the Saronic islands is such a quick jaunt that  it ’ s  no wonder that many escape the capital city to visit. The Saronic Islands and surrounding coastline are  home to many second homes for Athenians, such as the island of  Septses , where  you ’ ll  find plenty of luxe boutiques, art galleries and fine dining eateries.  The island ’ s grand mansions and horse-drawn carriages add a touch of elegance .

Meanwhile, the nearby island of Hydra is  totally devoid  of cars and exudes an  old world  charm  —  not to mention unparalleled sunset views from its hillside bars overlooking the sea. Hydra has long been known as an artist ’ s haven, attracting everyone from Jeff Koons to Henry Miller, and this bohemian, artsy vibe is still felt.

About an hour from Athens,  Poros combines lush pine forests with a vibrant waterfront dotted with  neoclassical architecture,  upscale  cafes  and boutiques. Poros actually consists of two islands,  Sphairia  and  Kalaureia ,  which are  connected by a small bridge. The island is also home to historical sites like the Temple of Poseidon  —  dating back to 520 BC, the temple offers a glimpse into the island's rich history.

A more modern landmark is the clock tower, built in 1927, that watches over  Poros town. Poros offers a  winning  blend of natural beauty, historical significance  and a laidback atmosphere, perfect for a luxurious destination  when embarking on a sailing Greek yacht charter.

The Dodecanese Islands

Further away from mainland Greece  are  the Dodecanese Islands, which are  actually closer  to the coast of  Turkey  than Athens. The archipelago has 15 larger islands and another 150 smaller islands. Larger islands in the chain include Kos,  Patmos  and Rhodes, to name a few.  There ’ s  also the chance to combine a visit here with a cruise along  Turkey ’ s  stunning coastline.

Rhodes, Lindos

With 300 days of sunshine per year, the island of Rhodes welcomes more sunshine than any other Greek island. But it’s more than the sunny weather that makes Rhodes an ideal Greek yacht charter destination. The largest of the Dodecanese Islands, Rhodes boasts a winning blend of ancient history, cosmopolitan charm, and natural beauty.

There are quite a few sites of historical significance to be found on the island, such as the Palace of the Grand Master in Rhodes Old Town, which now houses a museum. In the picturesque village of Lindos on Rhodes, an enormous castle-like structure known as the Acropolis of Lindos is perched atop a steep cliff, showcasing sweeping views of the surrounding sea and the village below.

Lindos village itself is a labyrinth of winding, narrow streets that are bursting with traditional tavernas and chic boutiques, while the long, sandy strip of Lindos’s main beach is ideal for families with its calm and shallow water.

Set in the northeast of the Aegean Sea, Samos is a bewitching island home to ancient architecture, serene  beaches  and a bustling  harbour . The old port town of Pythagoreion is  winning of  the UNESCO World Heritage Site designation, thanks to its fortified walls that protect the port. History buffs will also enjoy exploring the  Tunnel of  Eupalinos , a n ancient aqueduct built in the 6th century BC, considered an engineering marvel of its time and the well-preserved Roman baths, a nod to when Rome ruled this island.

Nature lovers will want to hike up to the  Potami  waterfalls or swim in the  crystal-clear  waters of  Lemonakia  beach. Samos is famous for its muscat wine, so wine aficionados will  want to make  to visit the Samos Wine Museum in  Malagari  to learn about  —  and sample  —  the island ’ s local wines. Charter yacht guests can also experience local festivals, including the Fishermen Festival in June and the Samos Wine Festival taking place later in the summer.

The Ionian Islands

Located off the west coast of mainland Greece, the  Ionian Islands   comprise  seven main islands: Corfu, Zakynthos, Kefalonia,  Lefkada , Ithaca, Paxos, and Kythira. These  serene cruising grounds are a popular spot for sailing Greece on a yacht charter, island-hopping along the way.  The   islands   here  are known for their verdant landscapes, beautiful beaches, and charming village s.

Corfu is a longtime getaway of the British elite, with a gorgeous stretch of coastline that one might mistake for the French Riviera with mansions dotting the shoreline and hillsides. Then on the island of Ithaca, you can step back into the time of Greek mythology on the mythical home of Odysseus and even visit the Cave of the Nymphs, a  mythological site associated with Homer ’ s Odyssey.

Kefalonia, Assos

On the largest of the Ionian islands, Assos is a small, idyllic village is set on a narrow isthmus that connects to a rocky peninsula, surrounded by the azure waters of the Ionian Sea. With buildings painted in bright pastel colours, balconies draped in bright bougainvillea flowers, and narrow cobbled streets, it can easily be argued that this is one of the most charming villages in all of the Ionian islands. Adding to this level of beauty is the ruins of the Assos Castle, set on a hillside overlooking the village. A hike up to the 16th century Venetian-built castle will reward you with views of the town and sparkling sea beyond.

The largest of all the Greek islands, Crete is known for its diverse terrain, from rugged mountains to pristine beaches, its charming towns and luxurious accommodations ashore. In Chania old town, on the northwest corner of the island, you can wander through narrow alleys lined with Venetian and Ottoman architecture that’s brimming with boutiques and welcoming tavernas.

This side of Crete is also home to many wow-worthy beaches where you can drop anchor and enjoy an al fresco meal taking in the views. Step ashore in Elafonissi Beach — known for its pink sand and clear turquoise waters, it’s one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece. Hikers will enjoy a ramble up to dramatic sights of Samaria Gorge.

On the eastern end of the island, mountainous vistas seem to tumble into the sea. Cruise into the protected harbour of Elounda, which hosts upscale hotels and exclusive villas on shore, and visit Vai Beach, famous for its palm forest, the largest in Europe, and a beautiful sandy beach.

The Peloponnese Peninsula

The Peloponnese Peninsula,  located  in southern Greece, is a region rich in history, natural  beauty  and cultural heritage. On a Greek yacht charter around the Peloponnese   Peninsula , you can step onshore to visit ancient sites and medieval towns. A few not-to-miss historical sites here include Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games, where you can see the ancient stadium and learn about its history in an excellent archaeological museum. The ruins of Epidaurus are  renown  for ancient theater with exceptional acoustics, which is still used for performances today, and the Sanctuary of Asclepius.  

A charming seaport town with neoclassical architecture, the Palamidi Fortress, and the Bourtzi Castle on an islet in the harbour, Nafplio is an ideal base for a luxurious yacht charter. Known for its beautiful harbour lined with elegant buildings, waterfront eateries and charming old town, it’s a winning port of call during a Greek yacht charter. From Nafplio, you can easily reach beautiful nearby islands and coastal areas such as Spetses, Hydra and the Argolic Gulf’s hidden coves and beaches.

The Sporades Islands

Located in the northwest Aegean Sea, the Sporades Islands are a group of lush, green islands known for their pristine beaches,  crystal-clear   waters  and quaint villages. The main islands in the Sporades include Skiathos,  Skopelos ,  Alonissos  and Skyros. The island of  Skopelos  is  somewhat famous   as  being one of the main filming locations for the film  Mamma Mia!   starring Meryl Streep.  Skopelos  is renowned for its lush pine forests, beautiful beaches and scenic landscapes , and its wealth of  natural beauty was  showcased  in the movie .

The nearby island of  Alonissos  is home to the National Marine Park of Alonissos and Northern  Sporades, a protected area known for its rich marine life, including the endangered Mediterranean monk seal. Fittingly, the island offers excellent diving opportunities, including  numerous  underwater caves and shipwrecks. Skiathos boasts  more than  60 stunning beaches, including the famous Koukounaries  Beach with its golden sand and turquoise waters.  The island of Skyros  is known for its rich cultural heritage, traditional crafts and the famous Skyrian  ponies.

Don't forget Mainland Greece

While the many island chains of Greece can steal the limelight, one should not overlook the charms of mainland Greece. Most Greek yacht rentals will include a visit to Athens. The capital of Greece is steeped in history and feels a bit like an open air museum with ancient landmarks are on display.

Visit the Acropolis, a UNESCO World Heritage site, to see iconic structures like the Parthenon, Erechtheion, Temple of Athena Nike and the Propylaea. Stroll through Plaka, the picturesque old neighbourhood of Athens. And indulge in Greek cuisine at one of the many rooftop eateries that overlooks the city, with views of the Acropolis lit up in the background at night.

Other places on mainland Greece well worth the visit include the coast of Parga, located  on the northwestern corner of the country, which stands out for its hillside monastery, postcard-perfect  harbour  and long stretches of beach.
