Yes, passengers are free to bring whatever food, drinks, and alcohol they would like on their Miami yacht charter. We just ask that you not bring any red wine because it stains the boats. We want all our customers to have fun on their Miami yacht charter. Drink responsibly!

The cost of your Miami yacht charter will very on the size of the boat, length of the trip, and other factors. If you are looking for a cheap yacht rental in Miami, our cheapest boat rental in Miami is our 29ft Sea Ray which costs $1,500 for 4 hours.

Most of our yachts depart from Miami Beach Marina in South Beach. We have other yachts that depart from different marinas in south beach. We also have some options that leave from downtown Miami.

Yes, you must bring the card that you used to pay for the yacht rental and you must bring a photo ID that matches the credit card used to book the yacht rental. The photo ID must also clearly match the individual presenting the ID and credit card.

Miami Blue Yacht Rental does not allow for cancellations under any circumstances within 30 days of the departure of your trip. Cancellations made between 90 days and 30 days of your trip’s departure are subject to a 50% refund of the total cost of your charter. Cancellations made prior to 90 days of your trip departure will receive a full refund.

The cancellation policy above applies only to day trips. Any overnight charters will follow a separate cancellation policy that will be outlined in the charter contract between Miami Blue Yacht Rental and the client.

Miami Blue Yacht Rental will cancel charters if there is inclement weather preventing us from conducting the trip. In the event of inclement weather, we will issue a credit that is valid for 3 years after the initial charter departure date. That credit can be used towards a future charter with Miami Blue Yacht Rental.

Miami Blue Yacht Rental reserves the right to determine whether or not the weather permits us from conducting the charter.

For almost all of our Miami yachts we can only take a maximum of 12 guests due to United States Coast Guard regulations. Even if the boat you rented is over 100ft, it can only take a maximum of 12 passengers. The only Miami charter yachts that can take more than 12 passengers are event or party yachts with special certifications.

To rent a yacht with Miami Blue, the individual making payment and signing the charter contract must be at least 18 years of age. Customers are required to submit full payment up front to reserve a yacht or boat. If the departure date is more than 90 days away, customers are allowed to rent a boat or yacht with a 50% deposit. The remaining balance will be charged 90 days before the trip departs.

On the day of the charter, the individual who made the payment and signed the contract is required to be on board the vessel. That individual must arrive at the vessel with the credit card they used to book the boat or yacht, and they must arrive with a photo ID that matches the name on the credit card used to book the charter.

Yes, you can bring whatever food, drinks, or alcohol you’d like. We just ask that you don’t bring red wine because it stains the boats. You can also arrange to have your charter catered. We will connect you with one of our preferred partners who will handle all of the catering. In most cases, you can have the catering delivered to the yacht prior to your trip. That way everything is setup and ready to go when you arrive.

Yes. You are free to switch to a different yacht or boat if you give us at least 48 hours’ notice and the alternative yacht or boat is available on the date requested. If there is an additional cost of the new yacht, you would simply need to pay the additional balance for the upgraded vessel.

Yes, you can have your yacht rental catered. We can connect you with local caterers who can deliver food to the boat prior to the charter. You are also free to arrange food with your own caterer and bring it with you on the charter.

Smoking rules vary depending on which Miami yacht you book. Most of our yachts allow for vaping and electronic cigarettes on any part of the yacht that is not enclosed. Some of our yachts allow for smoking but only in specific areas on the yacht. Usually somewhere off the back of the yacht so that the smoke and ash does not get on the yacht.

The number of bedrooms on your Miami yacht tour will depend on the type and size of the yacht you book. All of our Miami yacht charter listings have information on the number of beds and the number of staterooms for each yacht. If you have any questions about the number of bedrooms on your Miami Yacht rental, feel free to call our office at 954-299-5455.

What’s included on your Miami yacht tour will depend on which yacht you book. Each of our yacht your listings state the water toys and floats that are included. If you are looking to add additional water toys to your Miami yacht rental feel to call one of our agents and see what additional water toys we have available.

• Balloons are not allowed on board on of our yacht or boat rentals. Balloons can cause issues and make it difficult for the crew to navigate. Additionally, if the balloons pop and fall into the water they are terrible for the environment. • Self-tanning oils and bronzers are not allowed onboard. The cause stains on the yacht’s upholstery that are very difficult to remove. • Please avoid wearing denim or jean clothing as the dyes from these clothes can stain the upholstery when they get wet. • Please do not wear any temporary hair dye or wigs. The ink seeps out due to the moisture and the humidity and can cause bad stains. • Please avoid bringing wed wine or other similar drinks. If they spill they can cause stains that are extremely difficult to clean and remove. • No Hookah, shisha, or other items that have an open flame such as BBQ equipment, gas, propane, coals, etc. • We do not allow glitter or confetti on our yacht charters. • No pets are allowed on board our yachts. • Any damage that is caused to the yacht upholstery, flooring, or other surfaces caused by beverages, smoking, or dye from wet clothing will incur additional charges for the repair and damages to be fixed.

Our captains and crew know all of the best spots to go and all of the best sights to see out on the water. Some of the best things to do and see are: • Star Island celebrity home tour • Downtown Miami skyline • Monument Island • Miami river cruise • Marine stadium • Nixon Sandbar • Stiltsville (minimum 6 hour charter)

We ask our customers not to wear shoes on our yachts to help keep the yacht clean and to help maintain the condition of the yacht. If you wear shoes on your yacht rental in Miami, it can bring dirt onto the yacht or damage the deck of the boat. In order to have a clean boat for the duration of your Miami yacht charter, we ask our guests to remove their shoes.

James B Davis

Captain James has worked on the water since he was a teen. He attended Maine Maritime Academy for Marine Engineering and began working charters in the Hamptons. After making the move to Miami, he expanded his knowledge of the Caribbean, especially the keys and the Bahamas. He is called Thor by friends because of his resemblance to the Norse God.

Captain Philip has over 28 years of boating experience, from captain to maintaining the boats in top shape. He is passionate about yachting and truly is a captain that loves to share his knowledge for boating. He’s professional and takes his job for the waters very serious.

Veronika Leshko

Fate definitely had a hand at making me a captain and now I can’t imagine life without yachts and water. Capt Keith was born in Miami, FL and grew up boating and fishing on the waters of South Florida. He is retired US Navy and has been a licensed USCG 200 ton Master for 30+ years.

Captain Manny has over 10 years of experience on the water and as a local knows all the best spots in Miami. He gained experience through work on yachts, ferries, dinner cruises, and tugboats. His professionalism and expertise in boating is sure to make each charter a fun experience!

Scott Stearns

If there was person who truly captained for the joy of giving people unforgettable experiences on the water, it is Scott. Scott has broad experiences on boats, from racing on professional sailboats internationally to delivering and running yachts. Scott studied engineering at Georgia Tech and now works in private equity. He is our favorite weekend captain because he shows up to the boat excited to meet the clients and make their time out on the water one of a kind.

Born and raised in landlocked Belarus, I have always had passion for the ocean. I moved to Miami in 2011 and joined the Advantaged team in 2014: initially as a stewardess, and later transitioned to being a captain. I never get tired of breathtaking Miami sunsets, and will gladly share my favorite views of this amazing city with you.

Malia’s name is Hawaiian and means ‘calm waves’. She grew up on boats, learning how to wakeboard at the age of only 6 years old! She became scuba certified at 14 and it is her favorite pastime. Her passion for marine life will have her keenly searching for a unique spotting! With a Midwest upbringing, she is sure to be attentive to all your needs and sweet as apple pie!

Bella has always had an affinity towards the ocean and all it encompasses, this coupled with a fondness for hospitality naturally lead her to a stewardess role on yachts. A position she enjoys immensely with the aim of providing you the most enjoyable experience out on the water.

We had the best time with Captain Jesse and Emilio. They took our group of 6 on an amazing tour ending up at sandbar. Great service and great experience, Jesse and his team went beyond making us feel comfortable! We had a great time sailing! We had the chance to see super nice views and stop for swimming in a nice area! I highly recommend using these guys for a boat trip! Totally recommended.

Capitan Paul and assistant Vic put what would have been a perfect experience completely over the top. They were professional, kind and constantly making sure we were well taken care of. We rented the boat for meetings and they made our guests feel welcome and well served. I would highly recommend this team! Of course the boat was beautiful!

I've been on a lot of boats around the world and by far this is my best experience. Jesse, the Captain, made us feel very comfortable in his abilities to maneuver around the city and he was really funny as well. Angie was like a superwoman between being an amazing deckhand and filling every one of our drinks before we even had a chance to ask. Definitely coming back soon!

Meet captain derek.

I wanted to write a short introduction about myself so you will know more about the captain. I’m Captain Derek and I came to Miami over 30 years ago from the Caribbean island of Trinidad to go to college. I fell in love with Miami and its people and made it my home. As a result I have explored the amazing waters of  Biscayne Bay , The Keys and surrounding areas. Above all we take pride in offering you personalized yacht charters in Miami.

It has always been my dream to share the joy I get cruising these wonderful waters with others. Finally a few years ago I pursued that dream by becoming a captain and acquiring the yacht “Happy Ours”.

I always thought that the most fulfilling part of becoming a captain would be piloting boats. It turned out the joy in what I do is meeting  amazing people with so many stories, and sharing this beautiful place called Miami!

I am a USCG Master Licensed Captain with a perfect safety record. When you come aboard the crew will make you feel at home, with personalities that are laid back, easy going and friendly.

My favorite time of day is after the  sunsets and the lights of Miami illuminate the skyline, I hope I can have you aboard to share your favorite time of day and get to know your story.

Meet First Mate Jenniver

As a Miami resident, born and raised here by a Cuban-American family, I have a special love for this city. Coconut Grove is my favorite area with its lush landscape and bayside breeze. I happily married Capt. Derek in 2022 while raising two children, Marley and Jose. We all enjoy outdoor eating, entertaining, and the boating lifestyle our beautiful Miami offers. Happy Cruises is such a blessing in all of our lives! Capt. Derek and I have always been moved by a breathtaking sunrise and sunset while cruising the waters of Biscayne Bay.

“The feeling of excitement evoked by the smiles of our guests who come aboard never gets old”! Meet Captain Wade

Hi my name is Captain Wade. I was born and raised in Western Washington state. My family background is Western European. My mom grew up in California and my dad in the midwest. I have very fond memories growing up spending a lot of time on the water. I especially remember the time in Hawaii when my dad pushed me into a wave while I was riding a boogie board and felt that energy come off the wave.I was instantly hooked! Being on the water has been such a great part of my life since. We’d also go camping on lakes and spend much of our time on jet boats.

The weather in Miami, the people, and being near the water are all good features I truly enjoy about this city. I became a captain because it’s a win win. It’s amazing to be able to be working on the water and getting paid for having fun.” Do what you love and get paid to do it, it’s the best feeling!”

Operating Hours

Starship is can charter anytime day or night.

Safety First: Passengers must follow all safety instructions provided by the crew. Life jackets must be worn when instructed by the crew.

Respect Crew Instructions: Passengers must adhere to all instructions given by the captain and crew members for the safety and smooth operation of the boat.

Alcohol Consumption: Alcohol consumption is allowed within limits set by the crew. Intoxicated passengers will not be allowed to endanger themselves or others.

No Smoking: Smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas of the boat. Designated smoking areas will be clearly marked on deck.

Appropriate Behavior: Passengers must conduct themselves in a respectful and considerate manner towards fellow passengers, crew, and the marine environment.

Proper Waste Disposal: Use designated waste bins for disposal of trash, recyclables, and fishing waste. Do not litter in the water.

• Emergency Procedures: Familiarize yourself with the location of life jackets, emergency exits, and fire extinguishers. Listen carefully to crew instructions during safety drills and actual emergencies.    

Personal Belongings: Keep personal items secure to prevent loss overboard. The crew is not responsible for lost or damaged items.

Children Safety: Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. .

Restricted Areas: Respect any restricted or private areas of the boat that are off-limits to passengers.

Sea Sickness: If you are prone to motion sickness, take necessary precautions and medications before the trip.

Booking and Cancellation: Follow the charter’s booking and cancellation policies. Notify the charter company in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule.

Medical Conditions: Inform the crew of any medical conditions or allergies that may require attention during the trip.  

Enjoyment: Most importantly, relax, enjoy the journey, and make wonderful memories on board while respecting the boat, crew, and fellow passengers.

These rules are meant to ensure the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of everyone on board and to maintain a positive and respectful environment during the charter boat experience.

Typically this includes all your breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks. Standard Ship's Bar which includes your alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. Fuel for the yacht and its tender, and the necessary water for the onboard facilities. Use of the Yacht’s onboard equipment and the Captain, Chef and Crew’s services.

Excluded are airport transfers costs, onshore excursions and tours, as well as any food or beverages purchased ashore. Although optional, crew gratuity is customary at 15% - 20% of the charter rate for the Caribbean and 10% - 15% for the Mediterranean.

Plus Expenses

Included are the Yacht and its onboard equipment as well as the Captain, Chef and Crew’s services.

Excluded are food and beverages, fuel for the yacht and its tender, any dockage, airport transfers costs, onshore excursions and tours, as well as any cruising permits, licenses and other charter related expenses. Crew gratuity, although optional is customary at 15% - 20% of the charter rate for the Caribbean and 10% - 15% for the Mediterranean.

Advanced Provisioning Allowance:

For "Plus Expenses" charters, yachts request an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), which is generally estimated at 20% - 25% of the base charter fee for sailing yachts (catamarans and monohulls) and at 30%-35% for motor yachts. The APA essentially creates a bank account for the Captain to purchase provisions, fuel, dockage, food, beverages, bar, and other consumables on the charterer's behalf. The Captain will keep all receipts and manage a running balance of the account, so that expenditures can be checked at any time. Any amount not used will be refunded at the end of the charter. If during the charter the costs have exceeded the collected APA, then additional funds will be required for the outstanding bills. All purchases are transparent and nothing is marked up. The APA is used purely for the charterer's provisions and charter-related expenses.

Captain, 2 crew members from Mike Lynch's family yacht reportedly under investigation over sinking off Italy

Rome — The engineer and a sailor from the crew of the luxury superyacht that sank off the coast of Sicily , killing British tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter along with five other people, have been placed under investigation by Italian prosecutors along with the captain of the vessel, according to the Reuters and ANSA news agencies. CBS News could not immediately reach the prosecutors or lawyers for the Bayesian yacht's crew members to confirm the development, which comes about a week and a half after the vessel capsized on Aug. 19.

Engineer Tim Parker Eaton and sailor Matthew Griffiths, who was on night watch duty when the incident occurred, were reportedly placed under formal investigation for possible manslaughter and culpable shipwreck a few days after the 184-foot Bayesian yacht's captain, James Cutler, whose lawyers have confirmed that he's a subject of the probe.

After meeting with prosecutors for several days, Cutler, a 51-year-old New Zealander, has declined to answer any further questions, his lawyer said Wednesday.

"The captain exercised his right to remain silent for two fundamental reasons," attorney Giovanni Rizzuti told reporters. "First, he's very worn out. Second, we were appointed only on Monday and for a thorough and correct defense case, we need to acquire a set of data that at the moment we don't have."

Lynch and his daughter Hannah, 18, were among the passengers and one crew members who died when the superyacht sank rapidly during a violent storm in the pre-dawn hours of Aug. 19. The capsize of the high-tech vessel quickly raised questions, as another sailboat that had been anchored nearby off the coast of Palermo made it through the storm unscathed.  

Fifteen people, including Lynch's wife Angela Bacares, escaped to a life raft and were rescued by another boat that had been in the vicinity.

According to reports by Italian media, investigators are looking into whether the engineer, Eaton, might have neglected to activate security systems designed to automatically close all the hatches on the vessel, leaving the engine room to flood and possibly causing a power outage and the subsequent rapid flooding of the entire yacht.

Under Italian law, being placed under investigation does not necessarily mean formal charges will follow. 

During a press conference on Saturday, prosecutors said the investigation would require the wreck of the Bayesian to be salvaged from the seabed, where it currently sits at a depth of about 160 feet. 

Chief prosecutor Ambrogio Cartosio said his team would work to determine whether the captain, other crew members, or the yacht's manufacturers bear any responsibility for the sinking.
