The Royal Cornwall Yacht Club welcomes sailors of all ages and abilities to our club.

Located within a Grade II listed clubhouse on a 17 th  century private quayside, the club overlooks spectacular views of Falmouth, Flushing, Carrick Roads and beyond. RCYC was formed in 1871, and continues to hold close its traditional values whilst extending a warm welcome to new members.

As a club, we enjoy first class sailing. We host regular club racing as well as world-renowned sailing events. Whilst there is a focus on yacht sailing, we are enthusiastic supporters of dinghy sailing and motor boating interests.

Year round the club runs frequent social events including lectures, tuition and charity fundraising events. Our dining and bar facilities are open all year.

Opening times.

The Club has been at the centre of many sailing events in and around Falmouth since 1872.

We welcome visitors from other Sailing Clubs. The RCYC has a very active Racing and Cruising calendar, with regular Friday evenings’ racing in Carrick Roads as well as AZAB11 and other long distance races. The range of yachts racing includes Sunbeams, Laser SB3 via many different racers and cruisers. During the sailing season but especially when the yachts are laid up, the Club members are very involved in the extremely active Social calendar.

The Flag Officers lead RCYC supported by the House Committee and other sub-Committees.

Many of our members and their families have been with us for most of their lives and enjoy the truly welcoming atmosphere and the Club’s Bar & Catering facilities. The membership ranges from the older retired member through to the younger yachtsmen and women that have joined the Club more recently. The common denominator is a love of sailing and yachts. We even have a few Motorboat skippers as well!

The Club has a history of racing as the Organising Authority of the AZAB Azores and Back race series every four years, and as the home of the Falmouth Sunbeam fleet amongst other more current fleets. We are full supporters of the COGS race Series and obviously the Henri-Lloyd Falmouth Week in August.

Membership subscriptions 1st april – 31st march.

Family and Single Ordinary members may register at no additional cost their children/grandchildren under 18 years of age as part of their membership

For new members joining during the year, part year subscriptions will apply. Details are available from the Hon. Secretary

Boat Charges 1st April – 31st March

Cruisers and Dory trot’s are from 1st April to 31st October on their jetty berth and from 1st November to 31st March on land.

For boats newly registered after April 1st, part season boat charges will apply. Details from the Hon Treasurer

Juniors’ and Young Adults’ boat s:  50% discount (on one boat only  and no additional discounts available)

 A second or subsequent sailing boat for the same adult racing entrant:  20% discount (on lower cost boat(s)).

Please enquire if you would like a berthing fee quotation for your class of boat.

Please send no money in advance. On allocating berthing/boat parking space, the Club will issue boat charges  invoice(s) for payment

Boats may not be berthed overnight on a Club jetty during the winter months without the permission of a Club officer because of the increased level of risk of damage to both the member’s boat and to the Club jetties in winter conditions. Conditions may apply.

The reciprocal membership arrangement is unlimited visits to use the on-shore facilities, including the bar and restaurant, and attend social events. In return their members will be able to visit RVYC. Most clubs will require you to sign the visitors' book. Please take your membership card as proof of RVYC membership.
