PARSIFAL III is such an impressive yacht that she won five prestigious awards the year she was launched.

She’s such a show-stopping luxury superyacht that you may recognise her as the star of the reality show Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

Interior Design & Engineering

The 53.8-metre custom-built Perini Navi sailing superyacht offers a rare blend of performance yachting and exceptional comfort. This makes the PARSIFAL III yacht not only one of the fastest Perini Navis on water but also one of the most appealing.

Amongst her accolades, she won Superyacht of the Year (sailing yacht) and Best Interior (sailing yacht) at the Boat International Awards following her 2005 launch.

Equipped with high-tech carbon masts, fully automated boom furling and a winged keel, the PARSIFAL III yacht can reach top speeds in the region of 18 knots under full sail.

The interior, designed by Remi Tessier, features a blend of dark ebony and light sycamore complemented by natural textiles and fine leather accents.

The main salon and dining area of the PARSIFAL III sailing yacht opens fully onto the aft deck and can be opened forward to the wheel house. This gives a unique 360-degree view from within.

She accommodates 12 guests in six en suite cabins. The owner’s suite is full-beam and has direct, private access to an extra large swimming platform. The rest of the accommodation comprises a spacious master suite that can be divided into two separate double cabins if required and a further two twins with additional Pullman berths.

Yacht Facilities & Entertainment

PARSIFAL III’s main salon includes a circular sofa overlooking a large television and leads to the open-plan dining area with a sit-up bar facing out through portside windows. There’s also a smaller round table and bar on the main deck aft, with a fixed eight-person table and seating area aft.

The upper deck of the PARSIFAL III yacht is full of different spaces to relax and entertain. You could sit back and enjoy your morning coffee on the plush seats, enjoy a refreshment at the sit-up bar, or soak yourself in the Jacuzzi located at the very aft of the deck. If you prefer to soak up the sunshine, head to the main deck aft and stretch out across the sun loungers.

Toys & Crew

A crew of nine will ensure your PARSIFAL III yacht charter is memorable.

You’ll get easy access to the water - and the toys - via the large swim platform. There are lots of water toys to enjoy, from Seabobs, water skills and wakeboards to kayaks, SUPs and windsurfers. You can even head out in the four-person Hobie cat wave or the Open Bic sailing dinghies.

When you want to explore ashore, there’s a 21’ guest tender and a 19’ tender that will be able to transport you.

Captain Glenn Shares Advice for Breaking Into the Industry: "Go Where the Boats Are!"

parsifal yacht jobs

Holly is the editor of Dockwalk. She grew up racing sailboats in England before switching to the world of superyachts and moving across the pond to Fort Lauderdale.

As S/Y Parsifal III sails onto screens for the third season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht , Dockwalk catches up with Captain Glenn in a rare moment of downtime as he shares his route to the wheelhouse and tips for getting hired…

Captain Glenn Shephard had been at the helm of the 54-meter Perini Navi Parsifal III for over a decade when he found himself as frontman of Below Deck Sailing Yacht . Producers were struggling to find a yacht that would fit their new sail-powered spin-off when Captain Glenn’s name was thrown into the ring. With 22 years of experience in the industry and a network of over 300 sailing yacht captains, if he didn't know of a suitable boat then he would certainly know someone who did. As it happened, Parsifal III was up for sale at the time and so he pitched the idea to her owner.

“I wasn’t sure at first that I wanted to be the captain. I hadn’t seen Below Deck but after speaking to people and understanding how it worked I thought, okay, why not?" says Captain Glenn. "The first couple days of having cameras on you while you're is a bit weird, but you quickly forget that they're there and just go on with doing your job.”

Captain Glenn was born in Montreal, Canada, but calls Palma, Mallorca, home. Even when he's off rotation you will find him cruising the Mediterranean where he keeps a 42-foot Jeanneau. “That’s why I got into superyachts, because of my love for sailing. There is a certain group of people in superyachting who only want to work on sailboats and I’m one of them."

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Captain Glenn Shephard (@bigsailboats)

For Captain Glenn it all started with a backpacking trip in the 1980s. “I bumped into a guy in Rome who had a 50-foot motorsailer and I ended up spending almost a year on that boat cruising around. That’s what got me hooked”

Like most budding yachties he went to Fort Lauderdale and began dockwalking in an attempt to land his first job. "Back then it [superyachting] wasn’t the same as it now - today it's a lot bigger - but I figured I’d give it a try." After nine months scrubbing decks on a motor yacht he found himself in Monaco where he picked up his first sailing superyacht gig as a deckhand on board the 53-meter Perini Navi  Atmosphere . From there he moved to first mate on the 77.6-meter  Mirabella V  (now  M5 ), the world’s largest sloop-rigged sailing yacht, as well as her sistership  Mirabella III ,  before finally arriving on  Parsifal III  in 2008. It started as a relief job that morphed into a rotation and eventually a full-time position.

  • Below Deck Secrets: What the Hit TV Series Didn't Tell You

“One thing I really love is inspiring new people to come into the industry,” says Captain Glenn. It was one of the reasons he decided to take the Below Deck captaincy. “I like the fact that people who don’t know how superyachts work get a chance to peek inside this crazy world and see what it’s like for guests but also for the crew.”

“People who work on superyachts aren’t really cut out for work in a cubicle in a corporate job. They are more adventurous and need that change of scenery and I think it is nice that people can see that and think ‘oh, there’s another career possible.’ I hope it inspires young people to give it a shot.”

  • The 'Below Deck Effect' on Crew Hiring

And, according to Captain Glenn, it is not as hard as you might think to get a foot in the door. “You have to save some money and go where the boats are! Fort Lauderdale, Newport, Antibes, Palma, Antigua — that’s where you’re going to get the job. You could get lucky, and it could be a couple of weeks but it could take a couple of months."

He explains that most captains will be hesitant to hire entry-level crew from a CV alone so wannabe crew will need to hit the docks and get networking. “One of the best ways to get some experience without having to commit for a full-time live-aboard job is dockwalking and day work. Talking to somebody over the phone you don't really get that sense of that person, but if you work on their boat cleaning bilges or scrubbing decks for a week, they're really going to have a sense of who you are. And that's going to help you get your foot in the door."

  • How Dayworking Can Help Yacht Crew Break Into the Industry

Once you've secured that first job his next piece of advice is to stay put and get a year on your first boat before moving on. “If you have a year on your first boat you won’t have to dockwalk anymore. A captain will see your CV and if you were in a position for a year and didn't get fired, you’ve got to be doing something right.” Once you have those first six months to a year on the resume it becomes a lot easier to get your next job and both captains and recruiters will be more likely to hire you over the phone.

Of course, it is easy to be seduced by Below Deck where thousands of hours of hard work are condensed into just 16 hour-long episodes. “When we're not on charter, it's eight to five and sometimes you'll have weekends free. But when you're on charter, it's 16 hour days and you can go a month without having a day off," says Captain Glenn. “And I’m no spring chicken anymore. I want to slow down a little bit, smell the roses, and do more cruising on my boat,” he says, which is why he now captains Parsifal III on rotation.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season three takes place on home turf for Captain Glenn in Spain and premieres on February 21. He will be joined by returning cast members Gary King and Daisy Kelliher as well as some new faces. “ Below Deck Sailing Yacht is a little bit more fun. It’s not just a floating five-star hotel and I think a lot of people dig that. There's obviously some drama, some excitement, and a lot of sailing. And of course the crew make it very interesting," says Captain Glenn.

Named after an Arthurian knight, Parsifal III is the result of a modern-day 6-year quest by two sailing veterans. Their Holy Grail was a luxurious super-yacht that epitomized the best design, was perfect in all aspects of its build and provided performance under sail that could rival any yacht of her type. They found fellow shining knights in the Italian yacht builder Perini Navi naval architect designer Ron Holland.

And the result, according to a review in ‘Boat International’, are all the hallmarks of a Perini Navi: “…a classically proportioned ketch whose powerful hull displays a seamanlike bow and a long, elegantly curved sheer line that runs aft over a pleasingly proportioned freeboard to a half-moon of the forward-raked transom. The stylishly rounded deckhouse is topped by a flying bridge that extends aft to a long sundeck providing shade for the guest cockpit below.” Furthermore, notes Boat International, “performance is a notch higher than any of the company’s previous vessels”.

Parsifal III superyacht

On board with Parsifal III owner Kim Vibe-Petersen

The owner of 54 metre superyacht Parsifal III – a star cast member of hit TV show Below Deck – tells David Edwards the origin story of his innovative sailing yacht...

Kim Vibe-Petersen likes to call his pride and joy, the 54 metre sailing yacht Parsifal III , a “game-changer”. He likes to call the TopBrewer coffee maker he designed and manufactures a game-changer as well. But coming from him this is no lazy cliché. The Dane, with almost perfect English, chooses his words carefully and changing the game is simply what he does. In fact it completely defines him.

For if you ask the 65-year-old CEO of coffee firm Scanomat how he would describe himself, he replies without hesitation: “I’m an inventor.” Although he quickly corrects himself: “I’m as much a businessman as I am an inventor. When you run a small business, like we did in the beginning, you have to be able to do everything.” That may be true but you don’t need to spend long in his company to see that, at heart, he’s an ideas man, a restless bundle of thoughts and ambitions, many of which he’s been able to realise.

Even a conventional education wasn’t for him – “I didn’t fit in to the school system. I got pretty bored, I couldn’t enjoy myself going that slow” – and he couldn’t wait to leave and join his parents’ vending machine business, in which he’d already been working since the age of 14.

He set about transforming this simple firm. “I started my own business within their business. We were importers of machines from abroad. I started to invent products. I invented the first fully automatic cappuccino machine in the world. It went from zero to 95 per cent of the business within two years.”

Vibe-Petersen was off and running, doing everything, as he says. But the business would have been nothing without the product, the invention. Where does that creative spark come from? He doesn’t know. Not from his father, a salesman who clearly passed on the business sense. “I’m only interested in doing something that no one else has done,” he explains. “I’ve always wanted to do things differently. I’m interested in new things, in developing this world and hopefully doing things better and more easily than they were done before.”

That approach goes a long way to explaining Parsifal III and how that remarkable yacht came about. Kim and his wife Nina had owned and chartered out two Parsifals : the 34 metre Valdettaro now called Unplugged and her sister ship now known as Ree . But the inventor in him wanted to do something new. “ Parsifal III was a game-changer in the sailing yacht industry,” says the game-changer. “We were one of the first to use (designer) Rémi Tessier and we did the complete boat with him. That made his business grow.”

Boat interiors at the time (2004) were, in Vibe-Petersen’s words, like 16th century castles or English pubs. Even though they own a 300-year-old house five minutes’ drive from Scanomat’s HQ in Kokkedal, north of Copenhagen, he and Nina didn’t want that tired, traditional style. “All the other boats had a lot of small rooms, which I couldn’t see any use for. We made Parsifal III open, so you could see 360 degrees around from the main saloon. There was no special dining room, or special pantry, or anything that disturbs your sight. I wanted it to be one big thing. That was new. Also, we wanted the outside to correspond to the inside of the boat, with a very modern look.”

It was a meeting of minds between owner and designer. “Me and Rémi are very close, yes. When I visited him in Lyons for the first time, his showroom was full of Danish furniture. There was Poul Kjærholm and Arne Jacobsen and all these famous Danish designers. He was in love with Danish design. But he was very talented because he understood what we wanted to do, so in combination with me and Nina, we developed the curved, round design. Minimalism was the key word and luxury was the next. We liked the luxury, with the chrome and so forth, but we liked it in a lower-key way.”

Charter customers and awards judges liked it, too. Long before the boat emerged from Perini Navi’s yard, one client booked it for 17 straight weeks. “From 2006 to 2009 we didn’t use the boat ourselves because it was totally chartered out: 25 weeks a year, which is unheard of,” says Vibe-Petersen. “We could have got five times the amount of bookings for it.” Among the five awards Parsifal III won in 2006 was Sailing Superyacht of the Year at the Boat International   World Superyacht Awards .

“We inspired the whole industry,” says Vibe-Petersen proudly. That same pride is evident when he asks, as I arrive, if I’d like a cup of coffee. We are in the light and airy foyer of the Scanomat building in Kokkedal, north of Copenhagen, with several glass-topped plinths around us.

He takes a glass from one and places it below a stainless steel tap. Next to the tap is an iPad, with the TopBrewer app open on its screen. He asks what coffee I’d like; how strong and how much milk. I could have specified the tamper pressure I’d like applied to the coffee that is being ground behind the counter. He slides a few gauges and taps a button and 25 seconds later I have my espresso. And it’s really good.

“You get a lot of lousy coffee around the world,” Vibe-Petersen says. “You have to give quality coffee every time and that’s why people have to use our coffee with our machines, so we make sure they don’t put bad coffee in them.” Again, as he talks, the inventor in him is so apparent and so appealing. He is completely immersed in this product, and is responsible for every element, particularly the machine itself hidden under the counter. If, as he says, he wants to do things better and more easily than they were done before, then TopBrewer is a roaring success.

Just like with Parsifal III , customers and judges are agreeing. Apple has installed TopBrewers in its Caffé Macs employee cafeteria in Cupertino; Bloomberg has done the same, as has Level39 in London. McDonald’s is testing a bespoke TopBrewer system that will cut the time it takes to serve coffee by two-thirds. Beyoncé and Jay-Z have one, Steven Spielberg has one. “TopBrewer is getting very big. It’s very trendy to use our product,” says the proud inventor.

The original TopBrewer, costing from £5,000, was launched in 2012, but a new model will be able to make iced drinks thanks to a second, adjacent swan-neck tap, as well as deliver whipped cream for hot chocolate and provide all kinds of soft drinks.

But the really clever part of the product is revealed in the TopBrewer Café in Copenhagen, which I visit on my way home. There, via my phone I can order and pay for my very own customised coffee. Malou, who works there giving demonstrations to intrigued customers, says people are rapidly getting used to it. “We can change people’s coffee habit,” says Vibe-Petersen. “If you want to compete with Starbucks, which everyone wants to do, then you have to come up with a game-changer like ours, to do that kind of quality of coffee. This is about the best you can get.

“And can you imagine what kind of potential that has on a worldwide scale? You don’t have to have staff. At the airport you don’t want to wait in a queue. If you are in Hong Kong, Singapore, London or Copenhagen, you can always get the same coffee, your favourite. The one you love.”

Clearly for Vibe-Petersen, it is not just about the invention itself. Its application and the joy and benefits it brings to people complete the process. In this, making a coffee machine is the same as chartering out a boat: done well, they both bring great pleasure.

Business and life for the Vibe-Petersens is a family affair. Their sons Sebastian and Frederik work for the company: Frederik is involved in the IT department, and worked on TopBrewer’s integration with the app; Sebastian, like his father, is more technical and product-focused. Nina, 10 years Kim’s junior, is a central figure in their charter business.

“It was always the whole family who created the atmosphere of our businesses,” says Vibe-Petersen. “One thing is that the boat looks nice, the interior looks nice. But you have to have a good crew and you have to train them how to operate; how to take care of the people and make them feel good. “All my family are very service-minded, they all have that service gene. This is so important in the charter business. You have to understand what you like yourself and whether other people will like the same thing. If they don’t, you have to find out quickly what they do like.”

Vibe-Petersen’s formula for what charter customers like – and his record indicates that it’s a winning one – is to gently encourage them to try new activities. “Make them active, make them do things they didn’t know they would like to do. Get them out on a Hobie, a top jet ski , a Laser, get them out on a paddleboard, on a kayak. Try to convince them to try other things that they wouldn’t normally do. Then they are so happy for themselves if they take a step into a new world they maybe were afraid of. There’s a lot of teaching that the crew can do: talk to people, swim with them...

“People like to be pushed a little bit. But don’t push them too much! When it works you get a big reward for it. These people are so happy and they want to come back; [the company] gave me a good holiday. That’s basically what we’re selling. On top of that, you always have to have the best chef. You can repair a lot with good food!”

Vibe-Petersen’s 60 plus years have taught him many things but there are two principles that he believes are central to who he is and what he has done – and may still do. “You have to be prepared to make mistakes. If you do not make mistakes you do not invent. And it’s important that you get bored. When you are bored your brain works behind the scenes. When you are busy and stressed and on your phone too much and on the internet too much you do not develop many things. I love it when I’m bored and can just walk around, that’s when I create ideas.”

At his age many people’s thoughts turn towards home and the garden but Vibe-Petersen says he could never retire. “I work 24/7. I do not have weekends like others. I relax, I have fun and we go to parties and this and that, but in my mind I always work. And that’s not a problem for me.” That’s how you change the game.

‘Below Deck’ Sailing Yacht Shares Chilling Link To Sunken Morgan Stanley Billionaire’s Boat ‘Bayesian’

The plot thickens...

‘Below Deck’ Sailing Yacht Shares Chilling Link To Sunken Morgan Stanley Billionaire’s Boat ‘Bayesian’

Much has been made of the tragic events that unfolded earlier this week off the Sicilian coast, with the Morgan Stanley international chairman initially missing before being found dead alongside tech founder Mike Lynch. Adding more intrigue to the tale, a strange link between the sunk Bayesian yacht and hit show Below Deck has been uncovered…

The Italian shipyard Perini Navi, which built the PARSIFAL III — the yacht featured in the popular reality show Below Deck that rammed a pier due to an engine malfunction — is also the maker of the Bayesian , which tragically sank on August 19.

PARSIFAL III Misadventure

Below Deck is an American reality TV series that made its debut in 2013 on Bravo TV . The show, to date, is running on season 11, with a new cast of crews on every luxury superyacht during its chartering season. Their challenges while catering to wealthy guests are depicted on the show. The PARSIFAL III , a 177-foot yacht, suffered a big mishap during an episode of the show’s second Sailing Yacht season which first aired on May 17, 2021.

parsifal yacht jobs

While trying to maneuver in bad weather, the yacht hit a dock because its engine broke down. In an explanation, Yacht’s Captain Glenn Shephard said:

“I was using a different maneuver mode. And there’s a computer in between the throttles and the propeller that adjusts the load on the engine. Maybe my inputs were too much for the computer and it kind of, I don’t know, froze or didn’t react in the right way. I’m not really 100 percent sure. But I was pushing ahead and it was still moving backwards, which is not normal.”

Some of the wreckage was visible floating in the sea after the accident. Luckily, no serious damage was caused in this crash. Launched in 2005, PARSIFAL III can accommodate up to 12 charter guests in a master suite, two double cabins, and two twin cabins. The yacht also has a Jacuzzi and two Open Bic sailboats for guests to play with.

Not So Lucky

The Bayesian , also created by Perini Navi, was not as lucky. Sailing in a sudden and strong squall that created too much wind and conditions for the yacht to handle, the vessel sank after its mast broke in half off the coast of Sicily near the fishing village of Porticello   in the early hours of Monday.

Of the 22 people on board at the time of the tragedy, 15 were rescued, while six others lost their lives, among them being the chairman of Morgan Stanley International, Jonathan Bloomer, and tech tycoon Mike Lynch.

His daughter Hannah Lynch, 18, is still missing, and rescuers are frantically searching for her. Lynch was a British technology entrepreneur who achieved fame through his software company, Autonomy Corporation, which Hewlett-Packard bought for over $11 billion USD in 2011.

All aboard PARSIFAL III for Below Deck’s hit spin-off, Below Deck: Sailing Yacht

By Paloma Shemirani   20 October 2023

It is now 10 years since Bravo’s hit series, Below Deck first captivated audiences round the world with its enticing blend of the yachting industry’s opulence and all the drama from reality tv. In 2020, the show launched the spin-off series, Below Deck: Sailing Yacht which marked a departure from the motor yachts that have always been used in the franchise. Here’s an inside look on board the luxury sailing yacht, PARSIFAL III , which has been the setting for all four seasons of the spin-off.

What sets Below Deck: Sailing Yacht apart from the other series in the franchise is, as the title suggests, that it takes viewers on board a whole new type of yacht: the sailing yacht . With this change comes a set of brand new challenges (read: drama) as this type of boat depends heavily on wind conditions– requiring a seasoned crew equipped with handling unforeseen conditions that will affect both the vessel’s maneuverability and thus the charter guests’ on-board comfort.

Sailing definitely adds an element of unpredictability … there’s always danger in everything.' - Captain Glenn Shephard

Too close for comfort

Unlike motor yachts, sailing yachts also have considerably less space: from smaller galleys and crew stations to cramped and crowded crew quarters close to the guest cabins, the crew are under more pressure than ever to provide top quality service to guests as tensions and love triangles have little room to be aired out. With many of the deck duties taking place in the midst of guest areas, it is tough to hide any squabbles and mishaps which will affect the all-important tip that the charter guests leave before they disembark.

Who to expect

Season 4 cast of Below Deck: Sailing Yacht

As in the other Below Deck series, each season is filmed over 6 weeks in the summer charter season, with a new group of charter guests appearing each week.

Navigating the Mediterranean waters is PARSIFAL III’s full-time captain, Glenn Shephard who has worked on the vessel for over 10 years. Keeping both the captain and the boat the same across all 4 seasons, this marks yet another first in the franchise, which has typically varied the boats from season to season and has replaced the full-time crew with a temporary cast during filming. Fan favourites among the cast include Chief Officer Gary King and Chief Engineer Colin Macrea who have been caught in a love triangle in the latest season. There might be some franchise-firsts in Below Deck: Sailing Yacht , but drama remains a steady constant.

What is parsifal iii like.

Delivered by the Italian shipyard, Perini Navi in 2005, PARSIFAL III is famed for her tasteful, ultra-modern interior. She can hold up to 12 guests across 5 cabins, which include the master suite, 2 double cabins, and 2 twin cabins. Each room features stunning high-gloss wood panelling in either dark ebony or light sycamore, which perfectly complements the white furniture and upholstery. In addition to the monochrome color palette, the boat also boasts of having a deck jacuzzi and a hydraulic swim platform– offering luxury charter guests flexibility in where they choose to soak.

Long shot of PARSIFAL III

After a day of watersports, take advantage of the al fresco cinema set up with your favourite drink in hand. With such an impressive list of amenities, it is no surprise that PARSIFAL III was chosen for the Below Deck franchise’s latest instalment– she is indeed one of the most sought after sailing yachts on the charter market.

Where was Below Deck: Sailing Yacht filmed?

The boat and crew might stay the same, but each season of the spin-off show has been filmed in different locations across the Mediterranean:

The first series was filmed from the start of June until the end of July 2019 around Corfu in the Ionian Sea. Cruising at a speed of 10 knots, Captain Glenn took charter guests round the island and to neighbouring beaches on the mainland.

Filmed in the summer following the outbreak of Covid-19, Glenn cruised round Split, Croatia from the end of July until early September.

The luxury yacht returned to where she traditionally charters in the Balearics , sailing all around Menorca from mid-July 2021 until the end of August that year.

Remaining in the West Mediterranean , the fourth season was filmed on the northeastern coast of the beautiful Italian island, Sardinia from June until August 2022.

While season 5 has not aired yet, our intelligence shows that it has been filmed between June and July 2023 around Ibiza – returning again to the Balearic Islands.

Setting sail across the seas on a megayacht is a vacation many dream of but only some can achieve. Whether it's in the pristine waters of the Caribbean or the Mediterranean, the experience is only as good as the team onboard makes it. Across the Below Deck franchises, there have been some incredible stews that have gone above and beyond at their job, while also providing some of the best entertainment. We will be focusing on the interior team of ladies, and gentlemen, who rose to the occasion, but also provided some excellent television. This list will not include any of the stews that ultimately got promoted to Chief Stews. We can save them for another time.

Below Deck is the hit Bravo series that watches the crew aboard some of the world's most luxurious yachts cater to the lavish whims of the high rollers. Documenting the work and play of the yachites, Below Deck has launched four spin-off series, making it one of the most successful franchises on the network. The stews working these luxury vessels go above and beyond for their guests. It's time to celebrate the best of the best from across the Below Deck Cinematic Universe.

10 Madison Stalker

'below deck sailing yacht', season 1.

The first season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht was filled with a lot of learning curves. While the entire cast, sans Captain Glenn Shephard , got sacked following Season 1, there was one stewardess who was competent in a sea of incompetence. Madison Stalker was exceptional at her job.

She tried to stay positive during the season, but she often butted heads with Chief Stew Jenna Macgillivray simply because Jenna was way too obsessed with her relationship with Chef Adam Glick . Despite being the second stew, Jenna treated Madison poorly, causing her to feel miserable on Parsifal III. She didn't let that affect her work. Meanwhile, her stewardess cohort, Georgia Grobler , was so busy trying to win the heart of a taken man that Madison had to pick up her slack as well. Had Below Deck Sailing Yacht not had a disastrous first season, it's likely Madison might have had a chance to continue her tenure on the show.

'Below Deck', Seasons 1 and 2

Kat Held is a tale of two stews. As part of the season that kicked off the entire franchise, Kat epitomized the reality television side of Below Deck . She was loud and over-the-top. She knew the cameras were rolling and ensured that she would be a breakout star. She had a boatmance with Chef Ben Robinson . She was constantly at odds with the overly intense Chief Stew Adrienne Gang . She defied the orders of Captain Lee Rosbach, but she emerged as one of the stars from the first season.

She was brought back for Season 2 and everything changed. Not only did she have a better working relationship with the crew, she proved that working on the yacht took president over the reality television portion of the show. She became thick as thieves with Chief Stew Kate Chastain , but in the process, they alienated third stew Amy Johnson . Kat is one of the reasons Below Deck took off. Her redemption story arc was one to celebrate.

8 Anastasia Surmava

'below deck mediterranean', season 4.

Oftentimes, crew members on Below Deck are hired for a singular role, but they may produce other skills that prove beneficial for other departments. During Season 4 of Below Deck Mediterranean , Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier had the dream team on the interior. Comprised of second stew Aesha Scott and third stew Anastasia Surmava , it appeared that everything was going to be smooth sailing for Hannah.

That was until Chef Mila Kolomeitseva proved to be an absolute disaster and was fired. With no chef on board, Captain Sandy Yawn called upon Anastasia's culinary skills and background as a yacht to save the day. Anastasia saved the day aboard the motoryacht Sirocco, until Chef Ben Robinson officially arrived to be the chef for the final charters of the season. While Anastasia was cooking, Hannah was temporarily given a new stew, June Foster , who was certainly a downgrade from Anastasia. No matter where Anastasia worked, she was praised. Anastasia's well-rounded skills made her an exceptional asset to the team. Had Anastasia not been placed in the galley, the season would never have provided the infamous "June June" over the radio.

Below Deck Mediterranean

7 brianna adekeye, 'below deck', season 5.

Sometimes, being great at your job means you're not the best at television. Brianna Adekeye was so great at her job, that viewers may have missed her because she did the job she was hired to do. But it also might have been because she was picking up the slack as Chief Stew Kate Chastain was dealing with the disasters that third stew Jen Howell caused.

Brianna was a free-spirited soul and maintained her composure when Jen tried to throw Brianna under the bus for her failures. No matter how much drama was caused, Brianna rose above it. While she may not have engaged in the drama, she certainly was thrust into situations she didn't want to be in.

6 Kyle Viljeon

'below deck mediterranean', seasons 7 and 8.

Yes, you could easily put Kyle Viljeon on a list as one of Below Deck 's biggest villains, but when it comes to best stews, he's up there. He was commendable as a stew. Sure, he did often push the boundaries and cross the line of professionalism, but his two seasons on Below Deck Mediterranean were fire. As a huge personality, the South African riled up the crew, playing into the drama while stirring the pot. As one of the gay stews that have appeared on the show, he launched himself into fan-favorite status with his flirty fling with charter guest Frank Fay .

It's always important to go above and beyond for the guests, so he saved that smooch for after Frank's charter was over following a club night off the boat. During Season 7, Kyle formed a strong bond with fellow stew Natalya Scudder , but these besties turned rivals the next season. They both sought to assert their dominance following Natalya becoming third stew when Chief Stew Tumi Mhlongo was told to watch out for her by Kyle. Kyle is one of the best characters throughout the Below Deck Cinematic Universe.

5 Dani Soares

'below deck sailing yacht', season 2.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2 had a major refresh that helped save the series. While fans fell in love with the three best friends, Gary King, Colin Macrae , and Daisy Kelliher , they first saw stew Dani Soare fall in love with the much younger deckhand Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux . Dani was another cast member whose main goal was to do her job and ensure she received a good tip at the end of each charter. But it almost went to shambles when she became smitten with the tall deckie.

Much of her storyline revolved around the life she wanted to start after her time on Parsifal III. She felt that she was getting up there in age, her desire to be a mother was discussed often. As fate would have it, Dani did become pregnant, creating quite a scandal during the reunion. JL didn't attend, not allowing him to defend himself following accusations that he didn't want to be involved in the child's life. He eventually sat down with Andy Cohen to discuss the comments in a separately recorded conversation. While Dani's time on the show will be remembered for her love story, she should also be praised for the great work she did.

4 Emily Warburton-Adams

'below deck', season 4.

Emily Warburton-Adams was the sweet English Rose of Below Deck Season 4. Another stew who was exceptional at her job, Emily caught the eye of Chef Ben Robinson . While he did try to distract her from her duties, she kept her eye on the prize and let their boatmance flourish, temporarily, after the season.

The only problems Emily seemed to face came from Chief Stew Kate Chastain , who had a very close connection with Ben and felt she was replaced. Emily was truly a rare one during a very mild season, which made her one of the best stews of the Below Deck Cinematic Universe.

3 Hayley De Sola Pinto

'below deck', season 10.

A great personality can get you far in the yachting industry! Such was the case for the fabulous Hayley De Sola Pinto . Season 10 of Below Deck was like a revolving door of crew as people were fired and Captain Lee Rosbach had to depart due to a nerve issue. The bright spot during all of the darkness was third stew Hayley. She got along swimmingly with Chief Stew Fraser Olender . Especially as she was the ear he turned to during the Camille Lamb-Alissa Humber fiasco.

She was proficient at her job and stayed out of the immense drama that the rest of the interior team endured. Hayley's vibrant personality and ability to make crew and guests smile was her best asset. Fans were disappointed when Hayley didn't return for another season, but there's always other superyachts in the Below Deck Cinematic Universe.

2 Josiah Carter

'below deck', season 6.

Josiah Carter made history as the first male stew to appear on Below Deck . Literally being Chief Stew Kate Chastain 's right-hand man, Josiah proved that he was just so good at every aspect of the interior. With another disaster stew on their team, Josiah and Kate formed a close bond as they had to fend off the problems Caroline Bedol caused for them.

How they said goodbye to her though is the only dark spot during his Below Deck tenure. Josiah was constantly praised by his superiors and the guests alike. Had Josiah not stepped away, and there been an opening available, Josiah would have made an excellent chief stew. It's the charm!

Video shows moment Steve Jobs' former superyacht collides with yacht in Italy

Steve job's venus cost $120 million when it was built in 2012, by gerardo pons • published august 7, 2024 • updated on august 7, 2024 at 10:03 pm.

Video posted on social media shows the moment Steve Jobs' former superyacht Venus collided with another yacht in Naples, Italy.

The video, posted by Mexican telecom billionaire Ricardo Salinas Pliego on X, shows the moment the 257-foot-long Venus, now owned by Steve Jobs' former wife Laurene Powell Jobs, collided with Pliego's 344 foot-long Lady Moura on July 22.

"You guys won't believe this, but our yacht was hit while we were in Naples," Pliego wrote to his followers on X. "Apple founder Steve Jobs' yacht (now owned by his wife Laurene) hit us while we were anchored off Naples."
