To optimize your experience, we also limit this cruise to a small group.

This activity is available with either private transfer from any accommodation on the island or self-drive .

1 Optional Pickup

If you opt for transfer, your driver will pick you up in a private (non-shared) vehicle at your accommodation anywhere in Mauritius. Note that this entails an additional small fee. For self-drive (i.e if you are going by your own means, we will share the meeting location with you.

2 Embark the Catamaran and set sail to Gabriel Island

You will be invited to embark our catamaran departing at Grand Baie. Our team will brief you a security briefing and at 09:00 we'll set sail to Gabriel Island. The navigation time is roughly 1.5 hours.

3 Enjoy the scenic view of the ocean and coast line

As we navigate to the island of Gabriel, you'll be blessed with the scenic ocean and cost line view. There are several outlying islands like the Coin de Mire. If you're lucky enough, you'll be able to catch glimpse of whales or even dolphins.

4 Arrive at Gabriel Island

You will then arrive at Gabriel island. This little island a protected natural reserve that has kilometers of beaches protected from mass tourists. You'll be at your own leisure and can use this time to just sit back and relax or get into the warm crystal clear water.

5 Savor a BBQ lunch with unlimited drinks

You will be then invited to join the catamaran again where a delicious BBQ lunch (fish, chicken, sausages) with green salads will be served. Complimentary and unlimited drinks (inlcuding both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will be served.

6 Set sail back to Grand Bay

We will then set sail back to Grand Baie. The boat will make several stops so that you can snorkel. Once again, you'll get the enjoy the seascape including several outlying islands in the North of Mauritius.

7 Arrive at Grand Bay with your driver waiting

Your arrival at Grand Baie is expected at around 16:00 - 16:30. If you opted for the transfer option, your driver will be right at the deembarkation point ready to pick you up and drive you back to your accommodation.

The cruise itself was more than we expected - I like how friendly and decent the boat crew was. What I also liked is the total liberty and privacy they give you once on the island - you are basically free to do whatever you want at your own pace.

The sailing time is around 1.5 hours before reaching Gabriel Island . The island is most famous for its beautiful unspoiled beaches, with crystal clear water surrounding the entire island.

At around 12.30 you will enjoy a full delicious BBQ lunch on the catamaran. Please note that the menu includes only fresh fish, fresh chicken and a selection of fresh salads . If you are a vegetarian, please advise us before, so we can arrange the necessary additions to the lunch.

As part of the cruise you will pass by an amazing lagoon, where swimming and snorkeling are a must.

Sometimes during this excursion you will be able to see whales as well as dolphins. If this happens, the crew will stop the boat, in order for you to observe these great animals from close in their natural environment.

Of course you can choose to stay on the beautiful white sand beaches, enjoy a sun bath or a nice walk on the Island. This amazing paradise island is the perfect setting for a relaxing day of sun worship.

This is no doubt a great place to enjoy a day of relaxation and fun on one of the picture-postcard beaches or enjoy swimming and snorkeling in the sea.

At around 15:00, you will leave Gabriel Island, heading back to Grand Bay. During the sail back you can enjoy light snacks, the bar services and the live music. Expected arrival time back to Grand Bay is 16:00.

This activity is available with either private transfer from any accommodation on the island or self-drive.

What happens if the trip is canceled due to inclement weather? We will inform you as soon as possible, and work with you to reschedule your outing for a future date that is convenient for you. If it’s not possible to reschedule, we will refund any payment or deposit you have made in full.

What should I bring? Sunscreen and other sun protection, a swimsuit, and spare clothes are highly recommended. Snorkeling gear and swim jackets are provided free of charge, but a wetsuit is also optional and recommended.

Is this cruise safe for children and babies? This cruise is absolutely safe for all ages. Most of the trip occurs in a lagoon known for its lack of high winds and swells. We regularly host clients as young as 6 months, and we take your security seriously--our catamarans meet all security standards, including free lifejackets.

• Optional Pick-Up (07:30) For an additional small fee, a driver will pick you up from your accommodation
• Embark on Catamaran (09:00): After a security briefing we will set sail to Gabriel Island
• Enjoy the scenice view of the ocean and coast line (10:00): Get upclose to islands like Coin de Mire and other outlying islands
• Arrive on Gabriel island (11:15): You will be at your own leisure and you can use this time to relax and swim
• Savor a BBQ lunch with unlimited drinks (12:30): On the menu: BBQ lunch (fish, chicken, sausages) with green salads. Complimentary and unlimited drinks (inlcuding both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will be served.
• Sail back to Grand Baie (15:00): The boat will make several stops so that you can snorkel.
• Return (16:00): Arrive at Grand Baie; your driver will be waiting if you selected this option

Ile aux Cerfs is a place that you will remember forever. The view is breathtaking and the sense of scale is vast. It’s a private island, so much of it is untouched and truly pristine. Views of Mauritius across the lagoon that you will not see anywhere else.

We stayed in Flic en Flac and so really appreciate the rate for chauffeur service. A local taxi would charge quite a lot more. Plus the car was neat and well-maintained, safe and the driver acted as a guide to make the trip lots of fun.

The whole day was magic from start to finish. The waterfall was so peaceful, the speedboat was fun, the catamaran and snorkeling divine, the island a cut above. It’s off the beaten track and you will definitely feel it. Great sights throughout the trip.

Gabriel Island, also known as Îlot Gabriel, is a small island located near the Round Island and the Flat island, at the extreme north of Mauritius, about 10 kilometers north of Cap Malheureux. The size of Gabriel island is smaller than Flat Island and its highest point is of 28 meters.

Gabriel Island is a protected natural reserve which is most famous for its beautiful unspoiled beaches, with crystal clear water surrounding the entire island. It is a very peaceful island which is comprised of coralline sand on basalt lava-flows. Gabriel Island offers great dive sites and is a very popular site for snorkelers.

Une touriste allemande est morte après une attaque de requin au large des Canaries

Un drame au milieu de l'océan Atlantique. Une touriste allemande est morte, lundi 17 septembre, après avoir été attaquée par un requin à environ 500 km de l'archipel espagnol des Canaries, ont annoncé les secours en mer à l'AFP. La jeune femme, âgée de 30 ans, a été mordue à la jambe alors qu'elle faisait du catamaran lundi après-midi. Elle est décédée d'un arrêt cardiaque alors qu'elle était héliportée vers l'hôpital de Las Palmas. Ce type d'accident reste très rare dans cette zone.

Selon une étude publiée en février par l'International Shark Attack File, une banque de données de l'université de Floride, les attaques de requin ont augmenté en 2023 à travers le monde, avec 69 morsures "non provoquées" (lorsqu'un humain ne s'est pas approché intentionnellement de ce poisson), contre 63 en 2022. Elles ont fait un total de 10 morts : quatre en Australie, deux aux Etats-Unis et un aux Bahamas, en Egypte, au Mexique et en France (en Nouvelle-Calédonie).
