Baglietto 43m Explorer Yacht 7

Designed by the creative Italian studio Santa Maria Magnolfi, the superb 43 m Baglietto Explorer is a true Explorer Yacht, capable of taking on any sea in any conditions, while ensuring the safety and comfort of its crew and guests. The yacht was unveiled last September and comes with a helicopter landing pad and a 28′ sport fisherman boat and even a 6 m rescue tender.

The 58 square feet upper deck completely belongs to the owner, with a master cabin and a spacious dining area, enough to accommodate 12 persons. The sport fisherman boat and rescue tender also find their place on the upper deck, but the area can also be used for fancy parties or dinners. The bow area features a superb panoramic space with comfy sofa and a table.

The main deck of the yacht comes with a full-beam salon and an aft part with panoramic sights and easy access to the sea. There’s also a winter garden separating the aft area from the salon, which can double as a salon when the weather conditions are bad. On the lower deck, there are four cabins for guests, and in the aft there’s a wine cellar and a cold room for fish storage.

The sundeck comes with a nice sunbed area and polished floors. There’s also a bridge house designed with tubular elements inspired from the military, but sophisticated and stylish enough to find its place on a luxurious yacht, offering a superb panoramic view.

Baglietto 43m Explorer

Baglietto says its new 43m Explorer is a “ sportfishing ” mega-yacht.

For the avid angler, who likes comfort when not chasing down dinner, there is room for a 28-foot sportfisherman and a 20-foot tender on the yacht’s upper deck’s after section.

Speaking of the upper deck (and comfort), there is about 645 square feet of real estate here dedicated to the master stateroom with a view forward through three rectangular windows. There’s also a studio, a dressing room and a his-and-her head.

This 140-foot explorer vessel will be built with a steel hull and an aluminum superstructure. Design inspiration comes from a combination of other yachts, work boats and even warships.

The 43m Explorer can be tailored to an owner’s wants and needs, and most of the exterior is built modular, including an outdoor dining area on the upper deck that can be enclosed with sliding glass doors, allowing for an array of layout options.

There is an upper-deck helm with three forward-facing seats, and above this space is a sun deck with a furnished sunbed area, accessible via an external staircase.

Baglietto 43m Explorer

The main deck has a full-beam salon with ceiling-high windows. Because the tender and sportfisherman reside on the after section of the upper deck, this version of the 43m Explorer replaces its main-deck garage with a shaded conversation space. That space is also connected to the swim platform for easy water access.

Belowdecks, there are four guest staterooms, each with en suite heads, and two cabins for crew. There is also a wine cellar on this deck, and owners can choose its size and capacity. The sportfishing version of this vessel also comes with a cold room for stowing your catch.

Powered with twin 1,450 hp Caterpillar C32 Acert diesels, the 43m Explorer should reach a reported top speed of 15 knots. The builder says the yacht has a 5,000 nautical-mile range at 11 knots and 5,500 nm at 10 knots on its 13,200-gallon fuel tank.

Italian shipyard Baglietto has unveiled its newest explorer yacht; the X50 design, by renowned collaborator Francesco Paszkowski , will be part of a wider range called XO. “Explore, Experience, Observe”, describes the long range capabilities and distinguishing features: an observation lounge, drone and extensive use of glass.

Luxury explorer yacht X50

Paszkowski described the project as ‘completely disruptive’ with layouts inspired by the ETR 300 ‘Settebello’ train from the 1950s. The bridge is on the upper deck with an observation lounge above offering all-encompassing views through large flush-fitting windows. The lounge has been created with as somewhere ‘to retreat even on the coldest days’ and is comfortably furnished.

The innovative AV equipment on board including six independent screens can be used for entertainment, business purposes for the captain to share navigation charts. There is also a drone on the observation deck which can be used to explorer beyond the parameters of the yacht.

Paszkowski said: “The explorer boat already exists, but I wanted to create a product … with connections to the internet, the web, the drones – these are things … we tried to transpose this.”

Guests also have the option to sunbathe above the observation deck on a sunpad which moves at the touch of a button, to create a central skylight in the observation lounge.

The minimal flybridge is flush-fitted with glazed surfaces while a honeycomb-like solar panel on the roof of the flybridge can be used to create sustainable power.  She also boasts an ice-class hull for transatlantic crossing and exploration with a sturdy, sharp bow which enhances performance and manoeuvrability in extreme conditions.

Power will come from a pair of CAT C32 engines, delivering a maximum speed of 16 knots.

We understand that the construction of the first hull of the X50 series is in negotiation with a potential owner. This is an exciting project and part of a new generation of explorer yachts which are becoming more popular as charter yachts as guests look to explorer further afield. BAGLIETTO’S 43M EXPLORER

baglietto explorer yacht

Baglietto’s naval history stretches back to 1917 and its M.A.S torpedo boat.

The shipyard has continued to work with navies and coast guards around the world, so it’s no surprise to find its latest concept, the 43M Explorer taking on some serious militaristic traits.

Designed by Italian firm Santa Maria Magnolfi the versatile yacht has warship looks and support vessel space.

Intriguingly, the Explorer has been designed for an Owner who likes fishing.

To accommodate his hobby, there’s room on deck for a 28 foot sports fisherman, as well as a six metre tender.

Baglietto: exploring tradition

We catch up with fabio ermetto in milan to discuss baglietto’s two new yacht lines, changing construction trends and the stability of the market….

baglietto explorer yacht

At a press conference held in Milan yesterday (8 February), Baglietto unveiled two new product lines, crafted by Francesco Paszkowski Design , aimed at expanding the brand’s product range. This year also marks the 170th anniversary of the brand.

The FAST50 project, spanning 50 metres, serves as the flagship vessel of their fast, innovative and high-tech yachts, characteristics long associated with the La Spezia-based shipyard. Additionally, with the introduction of the new XO line of explorer yachts, the shipyard is venturing into a new segment, offering vessels designed for extended oceanic voyages worldwide.

We spoke with Fabio Ermetto, CCO of Baglietto, who confirmed the stability of the current market:

“If you just look at the numbers of the market you can see a decline, but I think it is a physiological dynamic, the so-called accordion effect, so many boats have been sold in the last few years and now we are seeing a decline that everyone expected, but that does not necessarily mean crisis,” he says.

“The numbers are still important, high, and if we link them to deliveries, which in many cases are long, you can see that they are still interesting numbers.” Demand is still there and remains stable, but many people have differing perceptions of the market depending on the segment in which they operate, he adds.

When following new market trends with interest, Ermetto confirms what other distinguished colleagues in the field have said. The market is seeing growth in customers seeking high levels of customisation, especially at “boutique” shipyards, which offer a more personalised and organisational approach.

“Customers are currently demanding shorter boats than before, but with large volumes and full customisation options,” explains Ermetto. “In terms of boat materials, metal remains the preferred choice, linked to high quality and construction standards. Fibreglass, on the other hand, is associated with large-scale production projects due to its rapid construction. Metal offers the potential for greater customisation, but the trade-off is that its production time and costs are higher than fibreglass.”

baglietto explorer yacht

Steel yachts, even under 50 metres, remain a core part of Baglietto’s practice, fitting into its established business model. “The new 35-metre Dom 115 represents a downsising that underscores this trend of smaller boats, steel yachts, with greater volume. Our customers want maximum customisation, and demand is growing, with more clients willing to invest especially in our 40 and 52-metre yachts.”

Since 2020, Baglietto has sold 30 yachts, of which the most successful models are the Dom 40 and T52, with 10 and 9 units sold respectively in three years, resulting in an order book of about 500 million euros.

The shipbuilder has also focused on investing in its infrastructure. At the La Spezia shipyard, it has increased production areas and installed a travel lift of nearly 1,800 tons. Further investments were made at the Marina di Carrara site, where new production areas were created, bringing Baglietto's production capacity up to seven yachts simultaneously.

Investments in hybrids are also proceeding with the Bzero project (the implementation of a hydrogen production module that from filtered and deionised seawater produces hydrogen) that has arrived at the commissioning stage both for power generation in the shipyard and for powering yachts from 60 metres; the last test on the prototype of the system will be in March and the first yachts in 2027.

The company has also expanded its reach with a new sales outlet in Australia with an associated after-sales office. A military division was also opened with the construction of ships for the Italian Navy.

baglietto explorer yacht

Regarding the shipyard’s latest models, its new 50m design, Fast50, marks the top of the range in the line of fast, innovative and technological offerings from the La Spezia brand. The first model was commissioned by shipyard owner Beniamino Gavio. The XO concept also launches Baglietto into the explorer yachts segment, with the X50 expected to be the first vessel to be completed.

“These new lines,” comments Baglietto’s CEO Diego Michele Deprati, “are the highest expression of Baglietto's core mission: innovating while also preserving tradition. Both projects are extremely innovative and set up Baglietto for even more success. Indeed, each and every one of our products look ahead at the future, often anticipating it, without ever losing sight of its DNA.”

Deprati himself affirmed Baglietto’s steadfast commitment to preserving its Italian heritage and maintaining independence from stock exchange listings and investment funds.

Baglietto’s introduction of its latest product lines, coupled with its dedication to blending innovation with tradition, underscores its lasting influence in the industry. As the shipyard commemorates its 170th anniversary, its adaptable approach is illustrative of its ability to navigate changing trends in a dynamic and competitive market.

Baglietto Launches Two Radically Different Yachts

Baglietto 43m Explorer yacht

Italian yacht-builder Baglietto has announced two new models, a 213-foot V-line classic superyacht by Francesco Paszkowski and a 142-foot explorer yacht by Santa Maria Magnolfi. The two Italian studios took very different approaches in the design, with Paszkowski employing a retro style and Santa Maria Magnolfi creating a bulletproof, seaworthy yacht that can be used year-round in virtually any waters.

Design cues like a roll bar on the forward section of the V-Line, reflecting Baglietto ’s classic models, are supplemented on Paszkowski’s design by lines taken from its stylized 1987 Adler. But this new Baglietto is not a throwback to the brand’s glory days. The stern portion is thoroughly modern, incorporating a float-in garage that can store a 33-foot tender. The area also doubles as a beach club, thanks to two large panels that open along the yacht’s sides. Guests can access the beach club from their staterooms through a third hatch in the central part of the yacht.

Paszkowski, who has been the de facto Baglietto designer for more than two decades, included contemporary features like floor-to-ceiling windows on the main and upper decks, a swimming pool on the top deck, and a see through-bottom in the main saloon that offers a picture window to the sea.

The yacht’s six staterooms include a master suite and VIP cabin on the main deck, with four staterooms on the lower deck. The V-Line also has a touch-and-go helipad on the foredeck. Baglietto is working on different propulsion systems, including a hybrid electric-diesel.

By contrast, the new Explorer was designed as a luxurious warship, capable of cruising in comfort into the world’s most remote waters. The designers at Santa Maria Magnolfi ticked off all the boxes to create a yacht that could cruise anywhere at any time of the year, so the most intrepid owners could see the world on their terms.

The designers realized that the interior of an intrepid vessel could also be designed around comfort and even opulence. Large windows are positioned across the topsides so that owners and guests will feel at one with the landscape, while the interior is dressed in Italian marbles, exotic hardwoods, Moroccan straw mats, and Indian silk fabrics. Large display cabinets will be included so the owners can showcase local crafts and artifacts that they have gathered on their travels. The explorer, of course, will have a spa and gym in its stern beach club.

Baglietto 43m Explorer yacht

The owners will have their own 625-square-foot apartment on the upper deck, with exceptional views in all directions. An outside dining area adjoining the apartment can be closed in with glass panels to become a winter garden, while the 1000-square-foot aft helipad, which opens and closes to protect the helicopter, converts to a large flat surface that can be used for parties or social occasions.

The sundeck serves as an excellent observation platform. The designers replaced traditional teak on the top deck with polished flooring, which is more typical of icebreakers that travel into inhospitable climates.

Santa Maria Magnolfi also made sure that the pantries, garbage storage, and fuel tanks were large enough for extended periods at sea without having to stop for refueling and provisioning. If this yacht is ever built, it could set new standards for explorers in its size range.

First model of Baglietto T52 with hybrid propulsion

image-post

First model of Baglietto T52 with hybrid propulsion presented in Portofino as a world premiere

La Spezia, 17 May 2023_ The first T52, the 52 m displacement yacht pencilled by Francesco Paszkowski Design, was presented today as a world première over the last few days in Portofino. This model is also the first to mount a hybrid propulsion.

Baglietto’s latest yacht made her debut against the breathtaking backdrop of the delightful bay of Portofino, where she was showcased as an exclusive première to clients and the international Press.

“This is a much-awaited moment for us – comments Baglietto CCO Fabio Ermetto – Being the first model in the T52 line to mount a hybrid propulsion, hull No. 10238 marks a crucial step – also in terms of research and development – in our shipyard’s path towards sustainable yachting – a path we have been pursuing with firm determination”. The occasion also provided the perfect stage to present OFFICINA BAGLIETTO, the training project by YAC offering young talents the opportunity to learn not only about nautical design – the Italian boat builder’s core business – but, more in general, about the luxury market, with a special focus on product design, fashion design, and jewellery design.

“There could be no better place than the Marina di Portofino to present our first hybrid-propulsion 52 m yacht, marking the first step towards delivering on our pledge for a more responsible and sustainable yachting – comments Baglietto CEO Diego Michele Deprati. Moreover, the OFFICINA BAGLIETTO project reflects our shipyard’s ever-growing commitment not only to building world-class yachts, but also to developing highly valuable projects, with a unique focus on and consideration for the new generations”. The event was supported by several internationally renowned partners that share Baglietto’s values and passion: Antinori, Bentley Milano, Eleventy, FPArt, Frette, Il Bisonte, Leone Limentani, Miller Harris, and Taurus, who made this yacht even more precious and contributed to making this world première a truly special and exclusive occasion.

Antinori The Antinori family has been committed to the art of winemaking for over six centuries, since the year 1385, when Giovanni di Piero Antinori became a member of the “Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri”, the Florentine Winemakers’ Guild. All throughout its history, twenty-six generations long, the Antinori family has managed the business directly, making innovative and sometimes bold decisions while upholding the utmost respect for traditions and the environment. The perfect balance between tradition and innovation, one at the sole service of the other, has always been a particular feature of the company.

The greatest passion for wine, prudence (characteristic of those who work the land) and patience, (necessary in order never to settle for any compromises at the expense of quality) have always been the main values of our company, handed down for 26 generations.

Bentley Motors Bentley Motors is the most sought-after luxury car brand in the world. The company’s headquarters in Crewe is home to all of its operations including design, R&D, engineering, and production of the company’s five model lines, Continental GT, Continental GT Convertible, Flying Spur, Bentayga and Bentayga EWB. The combination of fine craftsmanship, using skills that have been handed down through generations, alongside engineering expertise and cutting-edge technology is unique to UK luxury car brands such as Bentley. It is also an example of high-value British manufacturing at its best. Bentley employs around 4,000 people at Crewe.

The story of Olfattorio was born from the meeting of Renata De Rossi and Giovanni Gaidano with one of the most famous masters of selective perfumery, Jean-François Laporte. An encounter that represented a real “calling” for the founder of Olfattorio Bar à Parfums. Renata De Rossi, moved by a far-sighted vision, decided from that moment on to devote herself to olfactory research. Thus began a long journey studded with great international brands that would see the birth of Olfattorio. Renata De Rossi immediately has the confirmation of her intuition when, in 1981, she is in Turin in the room of the restaurant Il Dragone at rush hour, where the owner of the restaurant stops, looks at her and asks, “What is this forest scent?” It is one of Jean Laporte’s fragrances, the first gourmand fragrance in the history of perfumery.

The message is clear: a perfume can stop time. In its first three years of operation, the Bar à Parfums ( www.baraparfums.it ), the place par excellence dedicated to the culture of perfume, is a showroom inspired by the desire to create a place outside of sales, where any enthusiast can immerse himself in exciting olfactory tastings. An exclusive point to meet great perfumes and cosmetics selected from around the world, learn their history, technical secrets and be transported on engaging journeys into memories. An original proposal of luxury products that is still available to the public, who can access a panorama of 29 prestigious brands of niche perfumery accompanied by highly trained staff: fragrance specialists.

BAGLIETTO T52 #10238

Hull No. 10238, the first T52, is fitted with a hybrid propulsion system that will allow to choose a more efficient cruising mode, curbing both consumption and environmental impact. When cruising in electrical diesel mode, the T52 can indeed boast a range of up to 7,600 nm, and remain at anchor up to 10 hours relying on the batteries only. Her two MTU 16V2000M86 engines, however, also enabling her to reach quite an impressive maximum speed of 17 knots and a range of 3,600 nm in traditional navigation mode. The lines penned by Francesco Paszkowski Design reinterpret the classical design elements of Baglietto’s traditional steel displacement yachts under 500 GT in a highly contemporary, distinctive style, conveying a very strong personality.

“The T52 designed for Baglietto offers extremely comfortable exteriors and truly impressive volumes, allowing to enjoy life in the open air to the fullest. Two examples, in addition to the spacious sun deck, can be found at the bow, with the passerelle connecting the sun deck and the upper deck to create a huge, almost uninterrupted space, and in the aft part of the main deck” comments Francesco Paszkowski.

The interiors too – also designed by FPD in cooperation with Margherita Casprini – have a very strong personality: “The interiors perfectly reflect the Owner’s personality and his wish for a sober, contemporary atmosphere. This has been achieved by selecting classical materials to obtain an elegant, linear style and then adding a modern touch with the furniture”, explain Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini.

All onboard areas share the same design and style consistency. Natural materials have been used throughout the yacht: teak for the floors; lacquered surfaces, natural and almond-shaded leather for the furniture; Botticino marble for the bathrooms; burnished metal and satin-finished stainless steel for details; and fabrics in light colours or in shades reminiscent of the light grey of stone, in a harmonious blend that highlights the Owner’s desire for a fresh, carefree atmosphere.

The same design concept and style has been applied to the many custom pieces of furniture, choosing brands like Frendi Casa, Dedon and Tribù and selecting fabrics in natural nuances skilfully combined with leather, wood, and marble for the furnishings.

Just like her seven sister ships, the first T52 too has truly unique features that perfectly meet today’s market demands. Close contact with the sea is ensured by the original open stern featuring a beach club that develops over 3 levels and has already become a hallmark of Baglietto’s new course. The large pool can easily be concealed thanks to an ingenious up-down movable floor that further extends the available deck surface when the pool is not being used. On the upper deck, the wide floor-to-ceiling windows opening on 3 sides create a pleasant “al fresco” lounge, with a conversation area and a dining area to be enjoyed in all weather conditions.

The approximately 24-metre-long sundeck – another distinguishing feature on Baglietto yachts – is unmatched on a vessel of this size and volume, and follows in the wake of Baglietto’s traditional displacement yachts.

Baglietto: Boat builder Baglietto specialises in the construction of new planing aluminium yachts ranging between 38 and 50 metres in length and steel & aluminium displacement mega-yachts above 40 metres. Baglietto can currently rely on 2 production sites, in La Spezia (headquarters) and Carrara (operating site). The La Spezia headquarters extend over an area of approximately 35,000 sq. m. Over the last few years, the entire production site has been extensively renovated and enlarged. Three new sheds allowing for the construction of yachts up to 65 m in length were built in La Spezia, as well as new fully-equipped quays, to berth vessels of up to 70 m. The operating site in Carrara, conversely, comprises 2 areas of 5,000 sq. m each. One is used to build military crafts, while in the other – now equipped with 4 new sheds – yachts up to 50 m in length are built. Baglietto’s activities are set to grow considerably, not only with regard to the construction of new pleasure vessels, but also in the military sector, with the BAGLIETTO NAVY brand, under which 2 crafts for the Italian Navy are currently under construction.

Cantiere delle Marche delivers 43m explorer yacht Babbo

Related articles, superyacht directory.

Italian shipyard Cantiere delle Marche (CDM) has delivered its "one off" 42.6-metre explorer yacht known as Babbo . This follows her launch in July 2024.

Exterior design has been completed in collaboration with Francesco Paszkowski , while naval architecture is owed to Hydro Tec . Key numbers include 499GT of internal volume and an 8.7-metre beam.

Equipped with a steel hull and boasting a cruising range of 5,000 nautical miles, Babbo can sail in extreme conditions and reach far-flung destinations. The yacht is powered by two heavy-duty Caterpillar C32 Acert engines which are IMO Tier III-compliant and offer a top speed of 14 knots.

The interiors of the model have been designed with an "indoor/outdoor ethos" realised through an extensive use of glass in both the main and upper deck saloon, with the latter offering a bright and airy glass-wrapped veranda for direct connection with the sea.

There are four double suites for guests located on the main deck forward, with another two twin cabins on the lower deck. The lower deck is outfitted with four crew cabins and a captain’s suite by the wheelhouse, alongside a sizeable galley with a crew mess and laundry.

Babbo can carry a range of toys with a dedicated storage compartment located forward on the upper deck.

According to BOATPro , CDM has 11 yachts currently on order or under construction. This follows the unveiling of a new, 31.1-metre explorer model known as RAW at this year's Cannes Yachting Festival . The first unit has already been sold with highlights that include drone and helicopter landing capability and a swim platform designed as a "panoramic balcony".
