What becomes of a sanctioned Russian billionaire’s superyacht after it’s seized ? In the case of the $75 million Axioma , the end result was an auction for way below its market value.

The lavish 236-footer, which was seized from Russian steel magnate Dmitry Pumpyansky in March, attracted 63 bids at a sale in Gibraltar. A true watershed moment, it is the first public auction of an oligarch’s asset since Russian forces invaded Ukraine in February.

The superyacht, which boasts six luxurious guest cabins, an infinity pool, a spa and a 3-D cinema, was detained by the Gibraltar government after a legal claim from JP Morgan said Pumpyansky’s holding company Pyrene Investments owed the bank more than $20 million.

The Office of the Admiralty Marshal in Gibraltar confirmed on Tuesday that 63 bids were received for Axioma , but refused to reveal the value of the bids, as reported by the Guardian .

“The successful bidder will be selected by the Admiralty Marshal but details of the bidder and the value of the offer will remain confidential,” the court said in a statement. “Details about the sale value of the vessel will be made available once the transaction has been completed which could take place in approximately 10 to 14 days.”

James Jaffa, a lawyer for British firm Jaffa & Co, told the Guardian that he expects Axioma to sell for “way below” $20 million.

The west has confiscated billions worth of assets since March. British and American authorities have previously said they would seek to funnel the proceeds of sold assets back into Ukraine. This auction has attracted controversy, though, because Axioma has been sold not for the benefit of the Ukrainian people, but for the US investment bank.

Still, the has set a “benchmark” for other banks looking to recoup losses by auctioning assets.

“ Axioma will be a watershed moment for assets that have bank financing against them because all the other banks will realize that the asset can be sold and that they can get some or all of their money back,” Jaffa adds.

A super-yacht linked to a Russian oligarch currently under British and European Union sanctions has been detained by authorities in Gibraltar.

Western sanctions on Russian oligarchs over Moscow ’s invasion of Ukraine have triggered an exodus of luxury yachts from Europe in recent weeks, with several heading towards the Maldives , which has no extradition treaty with the United States.

The $75m (£57m) Axioma belongs to billionaire Dmitry Pumpyansky, the owner and chairman of steel pipe manufacturer OAO TMK, a supplier to Russian state-owned energy company Gazprom.

The Gibraltar government confirmed in a statement the Axioma had arrived in port after asking permission to enter and “was confirmed to be the subject of an arrest action by a leading international bank in the Supreme Court of Gibraltar”.

“The vessel is now subject to arrest by the Admiralty Marshal until further order,” it said, without specifying the legal claims from creditors against the vessel or the vessel's owner.

Research from financial market data company, Refinitiv shows the 72-metre vessel is owned by a British Virgin Islands holding company called Pyrene investments.

The Axioma is the latest in a series of yachts to be seized in Europe

An article published by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists as part of the Panama Papers leaks names Mr Pumpyansky as a beneficiary of the holding.

Forbes and specialist publication Superyacht Fan also list him as the Axioma's owner.

Refinitiv shipping data showed the Axioma left the Caribbean island of Antigua on 27 February and spent the past three weeks crossing the Atlantic before reaching Gibraltar.

Russian oligarch Dmitry Pumpyansky is currently on the British and EU sanction list

Earlier on Monday, a vessel linked to Roman Abramovich, the sanctioned owner of Chelsea football club, docked in the seaside city of Bodrum in southwest Turkey

It comes as a video on YouTube alleging that Mr Putin owns a $700 million (£528 million) super yacht, which is in an Italian port. The clip boasts just under three million views by Tuesday evening. The New York Times reported earlier this month that the vessel's captain denied Putin owned or had ever been on the yacht.

Multi-million-dollar mega yacht Scheherazade, docked in Italy. It is currently the source of speculation that it belongs to a Russian oligarch, or even perhaps President Vladimir Putin

Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov has said he no longer owns a number of properties that have been hit by UK sanctions, according to reports.

Mr Usmanov's net worth is put at about £13.8bn. He was thought to own a £10m mansion in Surrey and a £48m house in Highgate, north London.

However, neither of those assets can be frozen because they are not his, a spokesman for the oligarch said, raising questions around how effective sanctions against Russian oligarchs have been.

“All of Mr Usmanov's properties were settled into the irrevocable trusts long before the sanctions came,” he commented.

“It had nothing to do with sanctions and was determined by estate planning.”

Properties in north London and Surrey once owned by the businessman were “long ago” placed into trusts prior to sanctions imposed by the UK government on 3 March, the Guardian reported, citing a spokesman for the oligarch.

Inside Axioma: The First Seized Superyacht To Go Up For Auction

Time for a sneak peek.

Inside Axioma: The First Seized Superyacht To Go Up For Auction

Designer superyacht Axioma is going to be the first seized Russian vessel to go to auction. It has a slightly unusual past though . Here’s how it used to look before it got put under lock and key (as well as a video showing the little-known side of superyachting you’ve probably never thought about).

News broke on Wednesday that Axioma, a gorgeous $75 million superyacht, will be the first seized Russian schooner to go to auction – in a single day, and without reserve.

Axioma was delivered in 2013 and owned by billionaire Dmitry Pumpyansky, who made his fortune in the gas and steel industries. According to Boat International , Axioma will be flogged off on August the 23rd, 2022. Axioma was seized by authorities in Gibraltar in March on the basis of an outstanding 12.5 million loan due to J.P. Morgan, which the yacht’s international management company had not paid. Around this time, authorities realised Pumpyansky was included on sanctions lists – and discovered he was the beneficiary (read: owner) of the vessel.

Last month, a Gibraltar court ruled that Axioma should be sold at auction on an “as is, where is” basis, to give J.P. Morgan its money back. The fact that it’s a no reserve auction has sparked rumours it will sell for much less than it’s worth (its estimated value is $75 million).

Axioma is one of the rare Russian-owned superyachts that people could charter when its owner wasn’t using it. It was very popular and reading its list of features, it’s easy to see why. The 236-foot (72-meter) yacht easily takes 12 guests (and a crew of 20), has a jacuzzi on the sun deck, a pool, a steam room, a sauna, an owner suite with its own private deck, a smorgasbord of water toys, various lounge areas and a 3D private cinema.

New Superyacht Destroyed In Spectacular Blaze Off Formentera

As Autoevolution reports, it was built by Dunya Shipyard, delivered under the name Red Square, and was most recently refitted in 2020, “when it also received the striking turquoise-blue paint job on the hull.” Speaking of that striking blue paint job, videos on Youtube, by Jared Watney – a former employee on a superyacht and a luxury content creator – show what Axioma used to look like before it got put under lock and key in Gibraltar.

According to its page on Yacht Charter Fleet , Axioma was used for cruising around the Caribbean in winter (October to April) and the Mediterranean in summer (May to September). Cruising the Med would cost between 450,000 euros (AUD $655,000) and 635,000 euros (AUD $925,000) a week (plus expenses) and cruising the Caribbean would cost between 295,000 euros (AUD $430,000) and 595,000 euros (AUD $867,000) a week (plus expenses).

Watney’s videos, posted in January 2022, before Axioma got seized, show what the superyacht looked like inside, and how it would prepare for guests (including one area of the boat where everything could be moved to create a dance floor). He has also shown off the side of yachting you don’t often see, showing what happens on a superyacht when it’s in between guests, explaining why crew can actually be busier at that time than at any other.

Have a gander at the above video if you’re interested. And if you’ve got $75 million USD burning a hole in your pocket, why not take a trip to Europe on August the 23rd and take a punt at buying Axioma yourself…

On Tuesday, the Axioma became the first superyacht seized from a sanctioned oligarch following Russia's invasion of Ukraine to be auctioned off.

The Axioma was seized from billionaire Dmitry Pumpyansky, who was accused by JPMorgan of reneging on a $USD20 million ($29 million) loan.

Not only is it the first yacht to be auctioned, it's believed to be the first seized Russian asset of any kind sold off since Vladimir Putin launched his invasion of Ukraine in February.

The yacht was built by Turkish shipwrights Ursa Dunya Yachts, and first hit the seas in 2013.

When it was owned by Pumpyansky, Axioma could be rented out for a mind-boggling $645,000 a week in summer, or $790,000 a week in winter.

As you'd expect from a vessel with a $108 million ($USD75 million) price tag, the facilities on the ship are rather opulent.

On one level there's a pool, while up a set of stairs is a spa bath.

And guests even have the option to extend the pool all the way to the sea, thanks to a water slide.

The Axioma can support up to 20 crew to staff the 72.5-metre vessel.

The final sale price from the auction will still take some weeks to know. With 63 bids submitted for the Axioma, it will take 10-14 days for the winning one to be selected.

Gibraltar seized a $75 million superyacht owned by a sanctioned Russian oligarch, the local government said

  • Gibraltar's government said on Monday it seized a $75 million yacht owned by a Russian oligarch.
  • The government told Insider that the yacht, Axioma, was owned by the billionaire Dmitry Pumpyansky.
  • Axioma was previously docked in Antigua, in the Caribbean, before it sailed to Gibraltar.

Insider Today

A $75 million superyacht owned by a sanctioned Russian oligarch was seized upon docking in Gibraltar, the local government said.

The 240-foot  Axioma is owned by the Russian businessperson Dmitry Pumpyansky, the government of Gibraltar, a British overseas territory on Spain's south coast, told Insider.

Pumpyansky, who has an estimated net worth of $1.1 billion, is the owner of Russia's largest steel-pipe-maker, TMK, Forbes reported. His assets were frozen by the UK and the EU as part of sanctions imposed last week over Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Axioma is valued by SuperYachtFan at $75 million. It was previously docked in Antigua, an island in the Caribbean, until it set sail on March 3. It arrived in Gibraltar 18 days later, the ship tracker Marine Traffic showed.

In a statement on Monday, Gibraltar's government said Axioma was "confirmed to be the subject of an arrest action by a leading international bank in the Supreme Court of Gibraltar." It added, "The vessel is now subject to arrest by the Admiralty Marshal until further order."

In a later statement to Insider, the Gibraltar government said, "The owner of the yacht is Dmitry Pumpyansky."

Axioma, built in 2013, can host 22 guests and crew members on board, SuperYachtFan said. Axioma also features two big swimming pools, a gym, and a cinema, SuperYachtFan added.

Several superyachts linked to Russian oligarchs have been seized by countries that have sanctioned them as part of efforts to punish Russia and President Vladimir Putin for invading Ukraine.

Italy has seized a $578 million yacht linked to Andrey Melnichenko; France has impounded a $120 million vessel linked to Igor Sechin; and Spain has detained a $153 million superyacht linked to Sergei Chemezov.

Axioma aft

Dunya's first superyacht Axioma is full of surprises

The story of 72.5 metre superyacht Axioma (ex- Red Square ) started in 2005 when Sedat Ergun, owner of the Ursa Shipyard in Turkey, who had been working in the financial and civil engineering sectors, decided to take the yard owned by his family and transform it into a superyacht building operation.

‘We had this yard—the Ursa Shipyard—where we used to do small refits on yachts up to thirty-five meters,’ he explains. ‘I really wanted to do something more international. I thought at that point that yacht building was easy. So a partner and I founded Dunya Yachts as a brand and our plan was to build and sell spec boats. It was before the 2008 financial crisis and it was a very good idea at the time. At that time I was an investor, nothing more, and I really didn’t know anything about yachting or yacht construction. When the crisis happened things started falling apart. My business partner and I parted ways, and I had to make major changes in the management of the yard.

‘I had to get back to the kitchen and learn how to cook. I learned about the marketing, the business, the sector and the yachting industry as a whole – and I learned it wasn’t easy. In all areas of my life I’m a perfectionist; if I want to do something, I have to do it properly. I realized that the labor force and craftsmanship in Turkey is very good, but one of the biggest problems was that the yards didn’t have the right vision or the right facilities.’

In 2006, Ergun set about transforming the yard to create a modern yacht building facility, completing the works in 2007, the same year the keel for Red Square was laid. ‘I had seen Alfa Nero and was very impressed by the interior [designed by Alberto Pinto ],” Ergun says. ‘I wanted to work with Alberto Pinto and went to his office in Paris. We had to convince him to take our project on as he was very busy and he didn’t want to do anything in Turkey, but finally we succeeded. The brief was simple; we said we were not going to interfere much because we are not yacht owners, but it had to be a light, summery, cozy house style so that when people walked in they felt like they were at home.’

With Axioma 's lines drawn by Diana Scott of Sterling Scott in Monaco and with the late, great yacht designer Pinto taking on the interior, Ergun and his team finalized the general arrangement and began building the yacht on speculation. Ergun’s philosophy was as simple as the interior brief.

‘We were going to manage the project properly and become good assemblers, and this is what I tell clients who come to the yard,’ he says. ‘Our yachts are not made in Turkey; they are assembled in Turkey. It’s like an iPhone – it is made in China, but it’s still an iPhone, and you don’t look at where it’s been made because you know it’s been supervised by Apple and designed by them. The know-how these days can be gotten so easily, and that’s what we do. I buy the know-how.’

The list of suppliers and subcontractors on the build reads like a Who’s Who of the top end of yacht construction. The interior joinery was built by the Austrian company LIST; Van Cappellen did the sound and vibration; the paint is Awlgrip; Quantum provided the stabilizers; the navigation equipment is Raytheon and so on. But despite this investment in expertise, the price still works out favorably for the client due to the labor rate.

‘The price of this superyacht was thirty percent lower than the other guys,’ Ergun says. ‘Our goal is not to build cheap, but to build to the highest standards possible using the best proven brands in the world…and the math will do its work.’ Proving his approach, within a month of the yacht’s completion, she was sold through Yachting Partners International with the deal signed at the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2013 and soon renamed Axioma by her new owners.

‘To be competitive, we thought we had to build something over sixty-five meters and thirteen hundred gross tons,’ Ergun says. ‘At that time, pre-2008, there were not that many seventy-meter-plus yachts. Diana Scott did an excellent job creating beautiful lines – she is a real talent. Then we worked on the GA. For a perfect vacation, what should it have? First, if I were on charter with my friends and family I would want a large pool where my kids could swim, a big spa pool up top with a bar where I could have drinks with a view, and also different spaces so we don’t have to see each other all the time.’

Ergun used a similar philosophy when creating the interior layout. ‘When yachts get bigger, typically all you do is double the spaces – the lounges, the dining areas. So we decided to combine these areas to create something new for a seventy-meter, creating a wow effect by combining two decks.’ The result is the spectacular atrium gallery at the aft end of the main salon, creating an incredible sense of space and airiness while connecting the upper seating area with the salon and bar below.

‘For the owner’s deck we made a private terrace with an exit from the sleeping cabin forward,’ Ergun continues. ‘Then we said for charter, if I’m on board for fifteen days I have to have a gym, massage room and steam room, and they have to be together. They should not be downstairs like on a lot of other yachts. If there’s a guy on the treadmill or bike in the gym, he has to have the best view so he can be energized. Instead, we put the cinema on the lower deck where it should be as you don’t need light.’

The same thinking dictated the guest cabins’ location. ‘We put all the guest cabins on the main deck with a brief for large windows to let in a lot of light,’ he says. In fact, the only guest area on the lower deck is the cinema, with the rest of the space given to crew and technical areas.

The materials and hues used by Pinto are simple, with hints of color in the throw cushions and occasional furniture and with variations in texture creating a sensual feast that does not overwhelm. The style is modern, and very much allied to that idea of a comfortable, contemporary summerhouse rather than a glitzy hotel.

On the technical front, Ergun researched exhaustively to get the best spec, choosing twin Caterpillar engines that give exceptional range. Axioma can do 6,000 nautical miles at 12 knots with respectable fuel consumption.

‘My father always used to say, “Try to surprise people rather than disappoint them,”’ says Ergun. ‘With Red Square , this is what we did. We surprised them rather than disappointed them.’

For Ergun, the reaction to the yacht at the Monaco Yacht Show was as much a surprise for him as the yacht was for those who were lucky enough to get on board. ‘Everyone loved Red Square ,’ he enthuses. ‘If someone had come to me and said this was what was going to happen I’d have said “no way.” I was stunned. It was unbelievable. They loved the flow of the GA, the quality and soul of the interior, and everything about the yacht. The Monaco show is the milestone at the beginning of Dunya Yachts. We start now. Also, I am very fortunate and proud to have the team I have now. They are hard-working, proud and very talented.”

Axioma is being offered for charter through YPI . And as for Dunya, the yard has a 262-footer already in build with the hull nearly complete. Ergun says that they will take lessons learned and feedback from this first launch and incorporate it into the new build. There’s little doubt that when the next yacht emerges from the yard there will be no disappointment.

The late Alberto Pinto has created a contemporary beach house style, eschewing the stiff formality of a glitzy hotel-inspired interior expected to be found on a yacht of AXIOMA’s class. Dedicated to creating a bright, summertime feel, Pinto has utilized light-coloured woods and natural fabrics such as straw and leather. Enhancing this sense of space and light is the stunning two-level open mezzanine aft of the main salon, which joins an upper-level seating area and bar below. These spaces, which are connected yet individual in scope, present a multitude of uses from entertaining guests to unwinding with a book. Bold splashes of colour enliven the neutral backdrop, but does not overwhelm, for the upmost tranquillity.

Guest Accommodation

AXIOMA’s sleeping quarters follow the design features of the upper living areas. The master suite’s neutral wall panels are enhanced by flashes of blue, and wide windows and a large circular skylight flood the room in natural light. In a revolutionary twist, the five additional staterooms, comprised of a VIP suite, two doubles and two convertible twin cabins, are located on the main deck to ensure they benefit from large windows. All these guest suites boast their own colour scheme.

Onboard Comfort & Entertainment

There are a multitude of leisure options on board superyacht AXIOMA. Whether hosting a summer party on the sun deck with delicious snacks from the barbecue, enjoying a private gathering in the media room on the upper deck or watching a movie in the 3D cinema room, family and friends are guaranteed to be kept entertained.

Special Features

An approved RYA water sports centre, AXIOMA offers guests the chance to obtain their Jet Ski certificate while on a luxury yacht charter. What’s more, there will be a whole host of the latest water toys at your disposal, including Sea-Doos, kayaks, paddle boards, wakeboards and diving equipment as well as an inflatable water slide.

In line with her easy going attitude, AXIOMA boasts a steam room, sauna and gym on her bridge deck. Easily accessible to all guests, these present the perfect opportunity for relaxation and the gym is surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing guests to work out with a view.

Performance & Range

A custom full displacement yacht, AXIOMA is equipped with an ultra-modern stabilization system, which works at zero speed and when traversing rough waters to reduce roll motion and offer a more enjoyable cruising experience. With a cruising speed of 14 knots, a maximum speed of 17 knots and a range of 5,000nm from her 172,400 litre fuel tanks, she is the perfect combination of performance and sophistication.

Axioma has aboard a plentiful range of water toys and accessories ready to entertain you and your guests whilst on charter. Principle among these are waterslides bringing a sense of fun that all the family can enjoy. Take to the sea on the Jet Skis offering you power and control on the water. Guests can feel the wind in their hair and jump the waves on one of the two Seadoo WaveRunners. If that isn't enough Axioma also features waterskis, scuba diving equipment, a seabob, kayaks, fishing equipment and much more.

Axioma and her crew are available for charter this summer for cruising within the Mediterranean. She is already accepting bookings this winter for cruising in the Caribbean.

Luxury motor yacht Axioma is one of a kind, offering world-class onboard amenities coupled with an overflowing toy box full of the latest water sports gear for unforgettable yacht charters wherever you are.

Designed to perfection, the best in the class, a celebrity favorite.

Yachts have always been an ultimate commodity . There is no better way to show off the elite status than owning or vacationing on a classic yacht. Countless celebrities and business people worldwide are yacht enthusiasts who use them as their ultimate luxury transportation to get a much-deserved break and privacy. Celebrities don’t settle by relaxing on a simple yacht. They need the luxury and amenities offered by the best. One of the celebrity favorites is Axioma, a superyacht that provides the best experience possible. The clear and elegant exterior and even more lavish interior oozes luxury from every direction of the yacht.

Initially named Red Square, Axioma is a motor yacht that provides a safe retreat for renters to leisure in style. It features four outdoor locations that seamlessly submerge into one. Equipped with a top-of-the-line crew and numerous luxurious for relaxation, let’s take a look inside this outstanding mega yacht.

Axioma, the 236-foot superyacht, was built in 2013 by Dunya Yachts, and it’s the largest yacht built by the company . It was first displayed at the Monaco Yacht Show as Red Square and received a rave response from the onlookers. The owner of the yacht is a Russian businessman Dmitry Pumpyanskiy. It is created with expert craftsmanship, materials, and engineering to produce a top-notch water transport. Diana and Sterling Scott designed the exterior of the water transport.

Late photographer and interior designer Alberto Pinto decorated the superyacht before his passing in 2012. Pinto always took inspiration from cultural motifs and used the same principle for the yacht. He gave the yacht a beach house-style interior combined with glamorous hotel-inspired designs. Pinto dedicated the design to create a summertime feel and used light-colored woods and straws, and leather as natural fabrics to decorate the ample space, as noted by Yacht Charter Fleet .

Axioma has an ultra-modern stabilizing system that works at zero speeds and rocky waves to reduce roll motion for performance and range. This way, guests can have an effortless cruising journey without experiencing seasickness. The superyacht has a cruising speed of 14 knots with a top speed of 17 knots. It has a range of 6,000 nautical miles with 172,400-liter fuel tanks for a long journey.

Axioma has a myriad of amenities and keeps it limited to a few guests. As mentioned by Super Yacht Fan , the superyacht can accommodate 12 guests and 20 crew members. It has five exteriors, each featuring gorgeous views of the blue lagoons. The master suite is designed in neutral colors and has wide windows with a circular skylight for basking in the sunlight. There are additional five staterooms: a VIP suite , two double rooms, and two convertible twin cabins. All the rooms are located on the main deck and are designed with a specific color scheme.

As stated by Boat International , the superyacht features a bar, a spacious salon, a gym, and a cinema room on the lower deck for a theatre-like experience. The sun deck has ample space to host a party using the barbecue station on board. For wellness and relaxation, Axioma has a steam room and sauna on the bridge deck, accessible to all guests from every direction. One of the unique features of the boat is the double-deck gallery that is created by combing two decks so guests can have easy access to the bar and lounge areas.

A humongous superyacht that features amenities, good lighting, and helpful staff. Axioma checks off the celebrity requirements for every vacation. The company also provides essential toys with the yacht, such as paddleboards, kayaks, inflatable slides, and diving equipment. The RYA sports center approves Axioma so that guests can get their Jet Ski certification on the luxury charter.

With the help of these amenities, celebrities usually turn the Mediterranean Sea into their private playground. The inflatable slide can be directly connected from the sun deck into the water for a dive down into the sea. In 2015, Kendall Jenner was spotted enjoying the Axioma experience in Monaco with her friends Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid , Hailey Baldwin, and her then-boyfriend Lewis Hamilton. According to The Daily Mail , the best friends had vacationed on the yacht following the Monte Carlo Grand Prix. The celebrities were spotted jet skiing, diving, and cruising down the inflatable pool into the luminous water.

Axioma the superyacht has become a celebrity favorite and is still chartered around for relaxing vacations by elite families. It features an experienced crew of 20 people that will be available any time of the day to help, and the amenities speak for themselves. Money Inc

A Closer Look at The Kardashian’s Yacht Axioma

People talk about sticking to your lane like it is a bad thing, but in terms of your choice of fun, you cannot spend money you do not have. That is the reason why income groups are divided into three sets: low, middle, and high, with each category having their own budget as dictated by the amount of money they earn. You cannot expect a person who barely makes $3,000 in a month to be hanging out in high-end joints where a bottle of champagne costs thousands of dollars unless they are looking to be living in debt for the rest of their lives. In light of this, imagine having so much money that you will take your friends on a cruise for a couple of weeks. Well, that is what Kendall Jenner did for her 19th birthday, and according to Elle , she invited Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, Lewis Hamilton, and Hailey Baldwin to share in the fun. Kendall Jenner decided to celebrate her birthday in style by taking a vacation in Monaco on a yacht named Axioma.

The fact that such a celebrity was ready to charter it should inform you already that the amount is not one that we, the ordinary citizens, can afford. Kendall was willing to fork out $500,000 per week to rent the boat which makes you wonder what is so special about it, so here is all you need to know about Axioma.

What features does Axioma have to offer?

The most important thing on a yacht is the amenities it offers its guests since people will spend lots of time on it and it should be able to handle all their needs. Axioma is one yacht that does not disappoint, which could be the reason why the likes of Kendall do not mind taking their friends on board.

Swimming pool and Jacuzzi

You may wonder why you need to have a swimming pool in a yacht when you can swim in the oceanic waters surrounding you, but the answer is that it may not be too safe out there. Creatures like jellyfish and rough conditions in the seas can limit your fun but with a swimming pool around, taking a dip to beat the hot weather is all you need.

If you prefer outdoor spaces, the Jacuzzi deck will be the spot you might want to rush to, and since it has a bar, then you can have the water massaging your muscles as you take a sip of your favorite wine.

Gym and steam room

Being on a yacht can make you forget about your fitness routine but not with Axioma whose gym is well-equipped. Immediately after a workout, the steam room next to the gym is where you need to go to start your recovery after exercise and perhaps detox. Those who are comfortable with their bodies and would rather have a massage can step into the massage room.

Entertainment

The designer of Axioma knew precisely what he was doing because the 3-D cinema in the lower deck gives movie lovers the ultimate cinematic experience since the room does not get much light. If you are in the mood for a barbecue, then the exquisite snacks will delight your palate while you can hold a private gathering in the media room as Yacht Charter Fleet reports.

What sets it apart from the rest?

Regardless of how good a yacht is, if the service offered is horrible, not even the features are enough to make you want to stay. Axioma boasts of a full-time crew of 20 people according to Boat International   with two working on rotation. They must be well taken care of because some worked on the owner’s previous yacht, and they have developed a family-like bond since recruitment is done by word of mouth to avoid bringing strangers on board.

The crew comprises professionals who are ever ready to serve no matter the time of day or night as reveled on Spear’s where Chef Stephens did not mind waking up at 4 am to make a late-night snack for a guest. Additionally, he can make whichever dish you want, and the best part is, they do not store ingredients for months on end. Instead, meals are made from fresh ingredients obtained from the islands, and those that are not available are flown in and taken to the boat.

Treating guests like royalty

It can be disappointing to spend half a million dollars hoping to have the time of your life only to be told that the areas you want to visit are impossible to reach. Fortunately, on Axioma, guests are given the privilege of planning the itinerary and selecting the destinations they want to visit on their trip. Once you have settled on where you want to go, Captain Mark Giblin and his colleague Chief Stewardess Suzy Sawers ensure you visit all the places you hoped for, according to Luxury Travel Magazine.

Who is Axioma’s owner?

Most people may not be aware of who owns Axioma given the endless photos of celebrities flaunting their time on the boat. Axioma’s owner is a Russian named Dmitry Pumpyansky whose net worth is $2.3 billion. According to Super YachtFan, Dmitry is building another boat measuring 100 meters in length as opposed to Axioma’s 73 meters. He is, therefore, looking for someone to buy Axioma whose price has been set at 68 Million Euros so if you would like to own the boat instead of chartering, it is time to talk to Dmitry and maybe the next time Kendall wants to take a holiday with her model friends, she will contact you.

At the time of purchase, the yacht was called Red Square, and it was the first superyacht to be launched in Turkey by Dunya Yachts. Red Square was sold during the Monaco Yacht Show, and after a few days, the name changed to Axioma.

US alleges sanctioned Russian oligarch’s niece made payments for his $300M yacht

The yacht, known as the Amadea, was seized by officials in 2022, with the U.S. alleging billionaire Putin ally Suleiman Kerimov is the ultimate beneficial owner.

axioma yacht who owns it

U.S. authorities claim to be one step closer to proving a seized $300 million mega yacht is owned by sanctioned Russian Suleiman Kerimov, according to new court filings that detail alleged payments for the boat from the oligarch’s niece.

The yacht, a 348-foot luxury vessel known as Amadea, was seized in Fiji in 2022 by local officials at the request of the United States, as part of the Justice Department’s ongoing efforts to identify and seize assets of sanctioned Russian oligarchs in the wake of Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine.

Kerimov, known for throwing lavish parties and for his reportedly close relationship with Vladimir Putin, was sanctioned by the U.S. in 2018. Britain and the European Union later followed suit.

However, since the Amadea’s seizure, another Russian oligarch, Eduard Khudainatov, who is not currently under U.S. sanctions, has claimed to be the yacht’s rightful owner — an assertion U.S. authorities deny.

Prosecutors allege that new documents show Kerimov’s niece, Alisa Gadzhieva, entered into a loan agreement with the company that owns the yacht, Errigal Marine Limited, and then made two payments to Khudainatov’s holding company, Invest International Finance Ltd, Intelligence Online reported .

“The United States takes sanction evasion seriously and will use all tools at its disposal to ensure that sanctioned individuals are held accountable for their crimes,” U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Damian Williams said in an earlier statement .

The ship belongs to an array of high-value luxury items linked to Kerimov, including private jets and sportscars, like a $650,000 Ferrari that Kerimov totaled in a fiery crash on the French Riviera in 2006.

The yacht’s seizure followed ICIJ’s Pandora Papers, which included revelations on the offshore financial empire of Kerimov and his closest associates. The investigation showed billions of dollars flowing through opaque offshore shell companies associated with Kerimov, and covert money flows tied to oligarchs and others close to the Kremlin. It also highlighted offshore professionals who have helped oligarchs secretly buy luxury assets like yachts and jets.

Gadzhieva’s brother, Kerimov’s nephew Nariman Gadzhiev, is also under U.S. sanctions for allegedly serving as an assistant and financial facilitator for Kerimov. ICIJ’s reporting showed that, in 2012, a firm registered in Gadzhiev’s name worked with Credit Suisse to secure a $67 million loan for the acquisition of a custom-built Boeing 737 Business Jet as well as a Bombardier Global Express jet. A few years later, an article in Forbes Russia described Kerimov as owning the same kind of Boeing jet.

The Amadea, which is currently in U.S. custody, has already cost over $7 million in taxpayer funds to maintain while the legal battle plays out, The Guardian reported.
